      @@Spriggan83 Digging for more is a key component of the human psyche, we're programmed to look for detail and meaning. The level of detail he managed to hide within his panels is nothing short of incredible, if you find it tiring I don't know what to tell you. Being able to pull apart a piece of media in as much detail as we can Berserk, and have it not feel like we're reaching for depth. Well it's a once in a generation deal I'd say.
      Miura and Jung both seem to have tapped into some deep truth of the human condition with the exploration of their own depths. And Miura especially translated those depths in such detail and clarity for us all to access, that I honestly don't understand how someone could see all these hidden threads and not want to pull at them.

      The scene where Guts meets with Griffith while he's up late reading books, and explains to Guts how it's necessary for him to be knowledgeable about all aspects of the world (then shows Guts the sex book), I took to be representative of Miura himself studying to understand history, world religions, and psychology.

    I see similar themes running through Berserk that also ran through The Legacy Of Kain series of games. In that series Raziel was presumed to be the only bring with free will due to his death and rebirth, he had in effect broken free of the wheel of fate. If the only thing that can even touch the godhand is something that exists beyond causality then yes, it could be either Griffith who has been reborn into the world... or it could be Guts who was in essence born from the dead, a dead mother to be exact. Both might be beyond causality. I’m, as always, looking forward to the continuation of the series.

      Imagine if the DS & SoA later fuse into one blade that can leave the deepest layers of the astral realm. Guts might simply sacrifice himself and lose his ego to drive said blade(using the Beast of Darkness as his mode of transport) into the proverbial heart of the vortex aka IoE.

  • @crozraven
    @crozraven Год назад +48

    While Guts & his dragon slayer may play a role in Griffith defeat, I still strongly believe that Moonlight boi the key factor in all of this. I mean Moonlight boi also have a quite powerful magic, as he also tapped into the astral plane without any connection with godhand rules. That means, not only Guts, Moonlight Boi might be a being that is not connected to causality, certainly not something even Void predicted.

    • @BerserkDude
      @BerserkDude  Год назад +12

      Being that the Moonlight Boy is akin to the Christ archetype, what do you think of the idea that He will sacrifice Himself for humanities sin of separating good and evil?

    • @Cernunnnos
      @Cernunnnos Год назад +6

      @@BerserkDude Dualism was an incredibly important part of Jung's work.
      I don't think it's an accident that both Grifith and the moonlight boy have white and black hair respectively. They're yin and yang, order and chaos.
      So it's safe to say Moonlight boy will be central to the resolution of the story, but I'm not convinced the christ archetype is the right way of looking at it. It might be that Grifith needs to do the opposite of integrating his shadow, seeing as he is his shadow now, he might need to integrate his humanity. Which is what the moonlight boy is probably going to come to to represent. His lost innocence.
      That's not to say I think he'll have a traditional redemption arc, but I think his final confrontation with Guts is going to force Grifith to confront his lost innocence and actually complete his individuation.
      I think this will connect the idea of evil to the idea of good, balancing out the world. If I had to guess, the idea of good will probably be represented by a mind that will take in the dark expulsion form the heart of evil and temper it, as if what lies at the heart of all men is their shadow, his mind is what elevates him above those base desires.
      This could cause the collective unconsciousness of all humanity to integrate it's Shadow.
      The point of Miura's story could have been an allegory for the awakening of the collective unconscious.
      That would be my guess anyway.

  • @kneewizard6246
    @kneewizard6246 Год назад +11

    Berserk’s resolution will be consistent with the story’s core themes and philosophies. Either guts and gang embody these themes and save the day, or griffith does so and changes his evil ways (or both). I doubt we get a sad/negative curveball ending as this would seemingly contrast with the theme of struggling against fate

    • @bignasty4874
      @bignasty4874 Год назад +1

      Griffith is keeping the apostles in line. He has provided shelter, safety, and succor to the people. Above all else, he loves Falconia. I strongly suspect that Griffith will sacrifice Falconia (and likely Casca) to gain enough power to destroy the Godhand and scatter the Idea of Evil to the four corners of the realm of the Idea. So even though the Godhand is destroyed, everyone dies, everything is destroyed, Guts is robbed of Casca and his desire for revenge and resolution. Skull Knight disappears into obscurity, and the world of magic is set adrift, becoming evermore distant from the material world until they no longer have any effect upon one another. We finally see Guts as a displaced vagabond who does not belong in this new, mundane, human world.

That being said, Skullknight might team up with Griffith in order to destroy Void and rest of the god hand. Provided Griffith plans to be the one and only on top, or if the moonlight boy becomes more independent as it grows older and tries to destroy the god hand posing as Femto or some shit.

So, to me it also make sense when Schierke warn Farnesse to not wander far when they are in the middle of sea, aside from her explanation. I never connected it to a philosophical aspects, but it always make sense to me ever since SK told Guts is a struggler, like a jumping fish in a pool of sea.

The old band of the hawk will come back to life and fight the new band of the hawk in an epic battle. Guts will get back his arm and eye while Griffisu will be weakened. Guts will swing towards Griffith but then stop close before he would split his head in half. Saying he's done with him and is gonna move on. After that Griffith will kill himself... since Griffith is now an emo boy again after his god powers are gone.

    Hey take my words as grains of salts but is berserk a manga or a story about unconsciousness vs consciousness
    Idea of evil is that it is an entity either made out of the human unconsciousness or it is an entity that devoured the whole human unconsciousness and later became what it ate
    Humane unconsciousness or the concept of unconsciousness itself makes a realm where it all merges and that realm is called Astral realm, a non existent realm that exist on inexistable concept like mirror that shows the existence of the the thing in front of it. Now the mirror just happens to reflect the unconsciousness of humanity of the unconsciousness of the world.
    Sword of actuation is a sword that uses water to cut ocean that is the Astral realm
    Guts sword for example may just be a sword that rather than taking the powers of Astral realm it takes the conscious thoughts and will of the people it slayed and put them in reality.
    Astral realm is a reality where the unconsciousness thrives and physical world is where the reality where the root cause exists. Though the astral Realm is way vaster and stronger than the physical world it's is from physical world/reality that Astral world is shackled to ( note my word choice here underline shackled ). The heart of all existence is the idea of evil the unconsciousness that governs all desire hence the name causality.
    People that accept the behelt becomes the their pictures from the Astral realm their own pictures. Guts sword can over power even a little bit of Astral realm defines that Guts is Start to realize the point that what in his true him, true picture is ruled by his unconscious self and he is starting to remove/understand it.
    Dragon slayer the sword of Guts derives power from the the conscious form of Guts and takes the consciousness/will of the one killed by it.
    DO NOTE THOUGH THAT UNCONSCIOUSNESS WILL ALWAYS BE BIGGER THAN THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF ANY HUMAN except Guts ....... maybe.
    Guts character is very amusing, he is an entity that may just be able to overthrow the unconsciousness and hence become the sole bane of unconsciousness
    The written of berserk does a very good job of maybe describing the upcoming problems that humanity faces and that would be the confrontation of the unconscious self of well oneself

    • @aadiraj9860
      @aadiraj9860 Год назад

      Unconsciousness is more like a belief over your life and laws of your world.
      Ever wondered why the hell everytime I'm hungry I first think of food or eat rather than something like a question 'why do the sea wave ?' Or something
      Unconsciousness is roughly your exerted experience on dealing with your mindset and thought process/immediate reaction to the instinctual stimulus or any existent phenomenon.
      Common sense is an bad but rough example of this.
      Idea of evil and Astral realm takes it all to a whole different level. Like they take all of the unconsciousness form an existing entity and forms a picture of it in Astral realm.
      The idea of evil is some sort of the heart of this unexplainable phenomenon.
      If you wondered about each and every decision of your life, the implications, the reasons, the situations you took the said decision, then you will find even a seemingly non important decision like smaking a bug to ginormous decisions like to decide which company to buy or sell in your empire is made by your unconscious self, albeit it heavily changes and influences the decision you took.
      So here comes the main problem and by problem I don't mean small company crash or loss of your property no I mean EXISTENTIAL LEVEL of question
      " AM I IN CONTROL OR NOT ? ARE MY DECISIONSMY OWN OR NOT ? DO MY EXISTENCEEVER MADE A DECISIONON ITS OWN ON NOT? DO I EVEN EXIST OR IS IT JUST MY PUPPET LIKE CONTROLLED SELF THAT EXIST IN THE SO CALLED REALITY ? DO REALITY EVEN THE WAY I SEE IT IS ? OR IS EVEN THE REALITY I SEE IS CONTROLLED ? "
