Insanely Beautiful! Old Red Stone Golds! And some very nice saves on the old coinage. .........On the gloves, get yourself some of those food service, thin plastic gloves. You can get them at the dollar store 50 in a pack, it will make putting those gloves on a breeze. Thanks for Sharing......OBN
Thanks for watching .. I didn't know you were OBN from the forum ! You are definitely the GOLD KING !!! you have some productive areas ,always enjoy seeing your gold posts ..
Thanks Tom, Not sure about the Gold king, many great hunters out there but I have to say You and Mark are the River Kings! Love all the old treasures, Thanks for taking us along!
Outstanding and congrats Tom, pretty sure you found your new spot, just gonna get more and more now. Those were some really nice rings and a hand full of coins too. HH, Jim
just let me or don know.. he usually has more time to spend detecting than i do . most times i only have a few hours that's why i mainly don't get to detect with him... plus I'm more into the water hunting and hes strickly door knocking ! but if you ever come out, plan on getting in the water for a day !
Would've enjoyed watching the first detecting or hunt. You had silver in that IHP scoop. Glad you found it. Loyal order of Oddfellows...LOOP. Two awesome rings!
its hard to do live digs on every single thing trying to hold the camera and not make the video 3 hours long. Gold is all over the board and you have to basically dig everything to find it. to me its a waste of time, sd card, and battery life , not to mention hours of editing . so i show the things that are the most significant when i dig them up. Most the time i pick them up and see what i actually found when you see it. I dig a lot of garbage trying to find the gold rings and no one wants to see hours of finding garbage..
That ring is absolutely beautiful!! Just curious did you test it to see if it's a real Ruby? Doesn't matter either way it's still a beautiful ring!! God bless!!
Really cool finds... where did you and Mark get your wood handle scoops? I like the open top access. Btw new subscriber here, the guy from the Sunday MD digest show sent me your way and I've forgotten his name.
I actually made mine from his scoops design. his is a sunspot scoop and they don't make that open design anymore. I made mine with a point to easily dig into the hard pack bottom and to pick under and lift flagstones and larger rocks. yes the open top design is nice because you just pull it straight up and look through it unlike the t rex and others that are only designed for sand and have to lift up and hold out ..
Very nice finds! I get just as excited...I’m new to all this but live in a state where I don’t see people out hunting so I’m in and definitely going to give it a whirl. 😉✌️
I heard its the best in water than on land , specially in iron infested sites. I'm getting one on loan to try out soon just for one site in a river that's full of nails where a wooden bridge was and its masking all the old coins. my ctx has a hard time squeaking them out ..
You could contact a local university and take the stone to an Archeologist for information. Definitely a Native American or earlier tool stone. Nice finds.
Awesome finds Love the gold ruby ring really has an old look to it , great video with all the coins and stuff your 1st river Large cent ... great hunt ... an another nice gold Masonic ring
Saw your channel on Adventures in Dirt so I subbed. I'm relatively new to this so I enjoy watching others find neat stuff to help me, and especially since I will be waterhunting soon. Thanks for sharing and best of luck!
Awesome Braided Hair Large Cents Tom.😁 Big Congrats on the Gold Rings and very cool variety of relics. 😀 👏👍👏 Great Job on the Indians, Barber Quarter and Watch Fob. Great River Hunt ! Happy Hunting My Friend 😎
Good assortment of finds Tom. Beautiful rings. The one with initials and date is very personal. You're getting pretty good at clinching that scoop between your legs while filming! LOL. Glad to see you're keeping your inner thigh muscles toned! Best wishes and HH, Dave.
Nice River Largie! That gold ring with the ruby was magnificent! I would have left after that to make sure I got that one home with me! I.O.O.F. Independent Order of Odd Fellows (late 1880's)?
Great bunch of finds Tom! Grats on those gold rings and first water largie! The Oddfellows fob is amazing. I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of all those great sites you keep finding!
Congratulations! with this ring with the red rock, initials F H M, dated 6/17/09, you sure found yourself a beauty there. Pity the lion head ring is fake. One question: from your experience: in a river that does note see high tides from melting snow, do finds drift very far down stream over time? (I will be working a swim hole that has been very active at least from the late 1800 till now in about two weeks time)
no .. with a hard pack bottom the things that were dropped back then pretty much stays where they fall .. unless its bedrock where they will wash down until they find a crack or something to hang up in .as an example the 2 Indians were pretty much in the same spot...so they must have been dropped together.
some are easy to find , others can take weeks or months.. start out by searching old post cards in your town or surrounding towns of old swimming holes. take a drive to their local museums , or search the river history .. some pictures might have the town written on them most wont. so its important to look at each and every one. the museums will definitely have some old pictures if there was a popular one in the area. there were swimming sites in almost every town or surrounding town. once you find one the bottom has to be right. here in Illinois we have a lot of loose shell and sand mix that might be 4 foot thick before the hardpack bottom. all the heavies will be in that hard bottom so if its loose or mud bottom you wont find anything but lighter modern junk. i have a few sites that would be goldmines , but the ground is just blanketed with 4 foot of mud or sand/shells ..
Awesome river hunt! All of our old swimholes are pretty much a waste of time in the KC area. In 1951 a monster flood buried pretty much all of the old fields and and washed out places for miles and miles. Id like to try one out sometime if I can find the right one!
Some are hit or miss.. the bottom has to be right. if its all mud or loose graver you are pretty much wasting your time.all the heavies will be under all that and most likely be out of range for a detector ..
I.O.O.F Is specifically NOT International! It is Independent of the British "Odd Fellows" Thus the "Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The Watch fob Is From about 1880.
Lol its not as easy as it looks .... A lot of research goes into finding these places , then when you do find one the bottom has to be right and the water level !!Good luck if you do get into the hobby ..
Tina E arrow head hunting is what I’m starting to get into. Found pieces in my scoop digging targets in the rivers. I still have to train my eyes as to what I’m looking at !! I got some books also trying to learn the different time periods and types of them for future videos I plan on doing of finding them..
This is what i found on the I.O.O.F The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) is a non-political and non-sectarian international fraternal order founded in 1819 by Thomas Wildey in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. Evolving from the Order of Odd Fellows founded in England during the 1700s, the IOOF was originally chartered by the Independent Order of Oddfellows Manchester Unity in England but has operated as an independent organization since 1842, although it maintains an inter-fraternal relationship with the English Order. The order is also known as the Triple Link Fraternity, referring to the order's "Triple Links" symbol, alluding to its motto "Friendship, Love and Truth".

Sweet bottles too 🤩
