7:55 WuZetka - a cake created in Warsaw and named after the W-Z Route (East-West Route, W stands for wschód, Z - zachód). And it looks like a street, with white line in the middle.
My favourite cake since childhood but it must be moist (some aren't). Had one or two or perhaps a tiny bit more while in Warsaw last fall. It was such a treat to the palate not mentioning memories
Poland was destroyed during the II World War. She was the first country to face the Nazis in 1939 and the last country when the Russians crossed, fighting Nazis on the way to Berlin in 1944 and 1945. Poland, before the II WW, was a backward, agricultural country with 68% of population illiterate. During the war 15% of population perished, mostly intelligentsia, educated people and the Jews. After the war Poland fell under the communist rule. No help from the West, only help was coming from Russia as it was the only country with technology and industrialised capacity to help. No Western help was allowed by the Soviet Union. Yet, by 1980 Poland rebuilt and, from the backward, illiterate country before the war, Poland became industrialised country (in some industrial indications was in the first 10 countries in the world), with 98% of population educated to either, gymnasium (11 years education) or trade education (9 to 11 years) or university graduates. In 1980 Poland was one of the most educated country in the world. Amazingly, it all happened under the communist rule. This, rebuilt country and educated nation, is the legacy of our mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers strength and spirit. Poland also preserved its Christian culture and traditions what is also unique after being under communism.

What is happening now in politics (Trump) indicates that Poland may again be sold and left alone. The déjà vu of 1939 is becoming real again.
