I'm not that into sports games, but I do like ones that feature familiar video game/cartoon characters such as mario golf, mario tennis, mario kart, punch out, mario superstar baseball, and others.
It must be a good game or something, because he doesn't even cover 10 Yard Fight for NES. I admit I like games like that where you, the player, get to choose practically everything; Team name, field, Etc., in your imagination, but still...
I relate to the Madden games rant. I used to work in a video game store, and every day I had to sort through at least two dozen Madden games. I have never played a sports game in my life, and I got so annoyed sorting through all those Madden games.
Between NBA Jam, and Space Jam - with the freaking Looney Tunes, those are the standards against which all other basketball topics get measured, and lose!
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball was fun. I never had the first one but I did have Xtreme 2 that included Jet Ski racing and a few other interesting things as well as Dead or Alive Paradise on the PSP that was just like Xtreme 2 but had a few things missing due to the low memory of the PSP. But they did make up for missing content such as an easier way to explain how to get all the swimsuits as well as getting each character's memories in the game that you had to imitate your partners activities on the Zack Island. Xtreme Beach Volleyball was one of the best Volleyball games I played but I would also say SEGA's Beach Spikers Virtua Beach Volleyball has that sports tournament atmosphere to it compared to the relaxing island of Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball games.
The Atari sports games were an example of how limited early video game consoles were back in the 1970s and early 1980s. Allot of the time you will be a dot or a square or even some sort of rectangle looking person with small rectangle arms and rectangle legs. Sadly during the 90s and mid 2000s many normal people would often think of games like PacMan on the Atari 2600 and think that is all that video games were like even with the advancement of graphics and technology as well as the save file technology allowing for gaming to be able to tell epic stories where you are on grand adventures, many normal people would think that games were all about getting some sort of mythical high score. While I have my early gaming experience with Atari 2600 and even the Nintendo NES systems when I was a kid, I grew up with gaming technology improving over time and appreciating it but too many people in my real life would look at me and think I was doing the same thing over and over to get a high score when in reality I was in an adventure trying to get past the next dungeon or the next boss to progress through the story.
My first console i ever played was the Intellivision Video game console. I was 5 years old, You mostly had to use your imagination, and that's what i loved about these old games, you have to create your own prospective of the game, 😁
I do believe that the Nerd did a video on both the Intellivision as well as the Colecovision in a video called Double Vision, or something along those lines. It was a Nerd episode where he combined both the Intellivision and the Colecovision in the same Nerd episode because the games while back in the Atari 2600 days, were allot in common with the way they used those controllers that looked like old mobile phones and those game slip pads that you would put on those controllers.
Only 11 more episodes to go until we reach Steven Spielberg's Horrorpiece, Atari E.T Now curious question, are you gonna watch the AVGN Movie before the E.T episode?

“One of the most popular basketball games of all time is NBA JAM. Okay it’s basketball... again”
No James... NBA JAM is not JUST Basketball....

One of the sports games had the LJN logo on it.
Dear god, did they have to get involved with every single game category ever released, 😂
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
TWO OF THEM!
Two NES sports games, published by LJN, were MLB (Major League Baseball) and NFL (National Football League).
This video was the first AVGN episode I watched. It was amazing

Dead or alive xtream beach volleyball is the game you’re thinking of Charlie.

I'm going to watch the movie once I've watched all the AVGN Episodes, only feels right, 🤔
@@MynameisCharlie I can see the logic in that, but just as an FYI, the E.T episode is actually from the movie, so minor spoilers ^_^
You know what's funny, I actually totally forgot about the volleyball Dead or Alive games cause I mostly played the fighting games lol.
These games are nostalgic fun
Yeah, some look pretty decent, would not mind playing these games with a friend, 😊👌
Even if you don’t like sports games which I don’t, we all like 2 sports games, wii sports and wii sports resort.
