I agree - I’m 38 with a family and this was one of the most formative films of my teenage life. I don’t wish to be a teen again though - I look back so fondly on my memories as a teenager, but I’m more excited about where I am today. Whenever you find yourself really yearning for the past, remind yourself - at that time you were yearning for the future It’s our nature as humans to want the other thing. Know that and actually enjoy your time on earth
Im just glad i had Buddies growing up and going through the things of talking to a girl you met at school or the mall trying to push the envelope then telling your buddies about it on a Friday night hang out after school. Gosh the weekends and summers use to be golden.

UK here. I was 12 when this movie came out and I used to watch this with my best friend. We thought this is how our lives would go. Life seemed so simple back then. Now, whenever I watch that scene at the end when they toast "to the next step", I get all nostalgic for my younger self.

This song reminds me of my High School girlfriend. We were together for 2.5 years. She was shy and only had 2-3 friends, while i was a lot more open and had lots of friends, always went to parties, some girls here and there liked me and i felt great about it, although i never cheated. I did things to prove that i was "popular" and never minded her opinion. I won't say that i was a jock and an ass towards her but i wasn't the most mindful boyfriend either, because i felt we were gonna last forever. We broke up 2 months before her prom (I am 1 year older). I am 22 now, studying Law and she is attending some other College, i never talked to her since. I see her once or twice in a few months by fate, she's gotten prettier and i miss her more and more every time we run across each other. The line "I was there when you had no one else to hold" really gets me. For all you High School kids, no matter how "unpopular" your girl/guy is, keep her/him. Once you get out of that place the popularity won't mean shit, cherish the ones who love you, nothing lasts forever but then again nothing is impossible, so tell her you love her and treat her as she deserves
