This is one of the most fascinating videos I've seen in a while. Love all the little tidbits and knowledge the big flashy behind the scenes shorts never get to. Glad to see it online!
I find it incredible that they filmed with that trolley mounted to the body and head. I thought every time BB8 appeared in practical shots he was fully self contained. The clean ups by ILM to remove those arms must have cost so much money. I would have thought they’d have injected money into these guys developing a self contained prop for filming. Quite surprised that wasn’t the first logical step. But like they said, I guess trying to figure it out was a bit of a mind melt.
I thought that on a couple of the other panels too, but yeah, it's just that the mics aren't picking up the audience noise so much, so it gives the unfortunate impression that there's not a lot of atmosphere.
If anyone wants to see how to exactly build bb-8, James bruton made an awesome version of it that rolls around also. Check out his channel if you haven't already, it's amazing
Yes for star wars rogue one. They only showed the celebration reel but are keeping the actual trailer hidden from the public. Only the celebration attendees got to see it.
I did not like episode. 7 it was just a rip off of a new hope and it did not have a lot of mythology. I grew up with the origins but I like the prequels better. Because they had more mythology, new worlds, aliens, the start and end of the clone wars. A lot of human history like the fall of Rome and rise of Nazi Empire. (Fall of the republic rise of empire) they built a lot of minters for seines like Naboo, pod race, etc. Naboo capital looks like Turkey architecture.

This was so awesome especially the bb8 part. I always wondered how it worked.
That's amazing, I thought that they used a hampsterball build for all seven versions during filming.
Incredible engineering. Wow!

I think the trolley was from trying to get it to roll on sand , these don't work well on irregular surfaces , great on smooth surfaces
The lack of interest in the crowd is insulting. >:l
There was loads of interest
the cheering is just inaudible, but if you really increase the volume you will hear it at moments
