It would have been worth millions, but he didn't care. All he asked for was a case of beer and Michael Jackson to teach him some dance moves. His dancing on this and other videos pretty much show he didn't get paid fully,
Hello from northeast Ohio. I was born in 1973 and am a lifelong Van Halen fan. When this song and video came out, it got a ton of play on the radio and MTV. Lillian Müller is the teacher in this; she was a Norwegian beauty queen, Years before this, she was in a Rod Stewart video. .... Van Halen remains of the best bands of all time. Cheers.

I was in Jr High and a problem child when this song came out. One time we were going to have a substitute teacher for a few days and our teacher told us all, but my friend Roberto and I specifically, that any detentions we got from the substitute, that would double them when she got back. The 1st day of the substitute, it wasn't planned at all but, Roberto and I walked in class after the bell. When the sub said something, this song just popped into my head. I turned around, looked at the clock, turned back to the sub and said, "Aw man, I think the clock is slow. I don't feel tardy." The entire room busted up laughing. Detention #1. Later in class, the sub asked a question and Roberto raised his hand. When she called on him he said, "I brought my pencil, now gimme something to write on man." Everybody busted up again. Detention #2 for both of us (she figured I was in on it). I got #3 as well because he caught me so off guard that I laughed so hard I fell out of my seat. Considering everything was getting doubled I got 6 detentions in just the 1st day of having a substitute. In the 3 days, I ended up with either 8 or 10, none as sweet as those first 6 though.
You guys should listen to the song Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen by Baz Luhrmann. It was dedicated to the graduating class of 97, and re-released in 99. Almost 30 years later, the lyrics are still so true.

That is NOT true. Neither teacher in the video is Janet Jones. One is Lillian Muller, the other is Donna Rupert. People need to stop spreading that silly rumor.
Ah... this video is from 1984, I'm not sure that I would want to see the "only fans" of a 50+ teacher. OnlyFans started in 2016, 32yrs after this song, so if the teacher in the video was 20 (which obviously she's older) then I'll pass.
In the scenes where they are dancing orangish, brownish jackets, the drummer is the one standing in the middle. He can't dance, and they did like over 50 takes and finally just had to choose the best ones of what they had. If you pay attention, the one in the middle is usually the one out of sync and bumping into the others.
Yeah, it is Alex Van Halen who cannot dance. Ed and Mike are fine. And yes, they tried for several hours to get a good take, and they just used the best one. It’s ironic considering how good of a drummer Al is.
