Although on paper, this theme sounds repetitive and annoying, in practice, it works super well in context. This is a big cave where you're likely to get lost, driving you insane, which is pretty much something you'd expect the music to do to you as well. Ironically, it's because of that that I find it really good.
Frankly, I think people do a disservice to expect grandeur from HoDiss's soundtrack. It's not about grandeur, the way SotN's soundtrack is. This is about being trapped in Dracula's castle, having to navigate its ornately grotesque features and maze-like arrangements. It's the opposite of grandeur, it's the horror of claustrophobia and an increasingly desperate situation involving your search for two people who disappeared into a dark mystery that not even Death himself understood at first.
this is strangely enough, my favorite track from Harmony of Dissonance. it's foreboding as heck, but something about the hat sample they used for the precussion gives it a strangely Jazz-y feel, which is... certainly a different direction to take Castlevania music!
They are weak, but their appearence and movement, combined with the music and the fact that they are called "Scarecrows" (some dark humor right there), make them the scariest things in the entire game
Okay, I would say that this remaster playlist finally breaks the myth that the compositions in Harmony of Dissonance are not bad - that "it's just because of poor sound quality that the music sounds bad". It's obviously not. This one and "Approach to Despair" sound in high quality just as awful as the originals and some other compositions sound even slightly worse with this higher quality. I have for a long time now thought that so bad is the music of this game overall that it does not deserve to be featured in a Castlevania game; and now, it has been proven.
It's tonally Dissonant and is composed very similar to some jazz movements that I've heard, just much shorter. You might not appreciate it, but it's far from bad.

This theme is the harmony of the dissonance
I’m in my 20s and those stupid scarecrows scare the heck out of me, this theme reminds me of what comes around the corner lol

no se si deprime o me levanta el animo..
The entire soundtrack sounds like it was composed using the VRC6 chip mostly.
absolutamente brillante, totalmente disonante y hueco.
Es el mejor remaster que he encontrado en youtube, muy buen trabajo
Ominous as fuck.
there´s actually dissonance in this harmony
is it a bad idea to full-band cover this track? I think it is

@@restlessalciel3285 No, it's not.
@@Anakunus you sure told me 😂 everyone else is wrong--your revelation is exclusive to you and your two-man echo chamber.
This one might be bad but It doesnt make all the other tracks bad.
