    If there’s anyone better than Andy with this style of uke playing I’ve not seen it simply the best

    The consumate professional.
    I would go as far as to say Andy's technique is better than George's. That said, Andy has his own style, without pretending to be a copy of George. Superb performance.

      Well put. But, if it weren't for George, would we have the split stroke?

      I agree, but dad now 98 was in my humble opinion better than dear Alan Randall after his service in Burma. Yes there was only "one" George but this Andy Eastwood is technically So special...... perhaps I should text him. Anyway take care in these difficult times.... It will " Turn out nice again!".

      I agree. Technically he is better than George. Even George would agree Im sure. As far as personality there can only be one George.

    I absolutely love Andy's performance of You Don't Need A Licence for That. He's extremely annoying and frustrating though .... makes it look so damn easy ... which of course it isn't. Hard work and practice and many years of course. Not sure I have that in me at my age now. lol. Great job Andy.

    Maybe the only guy to play this style better than Formby....go on andy

    • @michaelgarfield9845
      @michaelgarfield9845 7 лет назад +1

      Why, because he plays it at a million miles an hour? Bullshit.

      Get off the internet michael. this guy is a pro musician, you think he doesn't know the correct speed to play a song? just go away.

    • @joepollardmagic
      @joepollardmagic 2 года назад

      @@michaelgarfield9845 No because technically he is better. Even George would say so. The man has a literal doctorate in the Banjo Uke. Formby was great but Andy in terms of sheer technical ability is better than George was.

    This is great playing but I find it so irritating when one has to play the uke over the top when singing GF songs and I'm not actually talking about the solo at the end. GF played the uke with such precision and to be honest there will never be another like him as he was Britain's finest 🇬🇧. Please if you are going to sing a GF song do it in his style that he did. I know that everyone has there own style in playing like myself but when these songs were sung by GF I never heard the uke being played so loud when he was actually singing his songs it literally spoils it. G Formbys playing was unique and playing softly during the song and then burst out with his solo was truly amazing. But well done on your performance!

      Why try and copy something exactly? Andy is better than George in terms of playing ability. Even George would say so. In terms of the volume that could be anything from the way the mics were set up down to how close he was to them. Lets not forget in his films the songs were dubbed over and it was not him playing live. There are so many factors here at play. Don't be a boring purist.

      No disrespect intended but I would ask where you actually present when this performance took place? Probably not, where as I was, and can assure you the instrument did not sound over the top or overly loud in the room during the performance. This is a brilliant performance by one of the world’s finest performers, and I believe one which George himself would have been proud of. Just saying.
