Out of all the years that I used the wasps from the 70's thru the 90's and even into the first 10yrs of 2000+ I was able to do away with chemical products and most of all the fly 🪰 traps!! My Dad had a horse farm plus numerous dogs, chickens, peacocks, guinea hens and cattle. The first year we ordered 30,000 every so many weeks & by the end of the summer we definitely noticed . The neighbors that were the closest commented that the flies weren't as bad. We were told that they would search the manure and other poop from around the area. I gave out the name of the company to many of my friends and neighbors. The more ppl that use the wasps that live in close proximity the better the elimination of flies!!! I now live in the country with a couple small dogs and cats. W/O the wasps after 15yrs the traps and even fly strips have been back in use!! 25 years ago I worked for a PhD at a college I attended and she and her students were working on natural predators for eliminating bugs. Because I typed up her notes and read her students work I am a firm believer in natural remedies to pests. I used Comfortis on my dogs for years because it worked to eliminate fleas without the chemicals. Her work was mostly in nematodes and their fight against grubs and other burrowing bugs. I am hoping this works for you all. How has the treatment of the mites on the goats progressed? I live neat Fort Worth TX and we have been having a heat wave. My old dog Mr. Cash has been really struggling with the heat (I have too) since when I adopted him from the pound he was infested with heartworms. They and the treatment to free him of them compromised his breathing. That is how dogs cool off, for the most part, on triple digit days. So, I said all that to ask if you could say a prayer for him. I don't believe in making a dog suffer to just be my companion. My concern is that he has begun to have congestive heart failure. He is 95 pounds and is 14 years old. Thanks for your videos. Hi Kevin & Rachel, I have seen those on other farms. They left them in the bags open and put them in a place where it was a centralized location and the wasp flew to where they needed to be, whether it was by the animals or gardens. That way the animals would not get to them. Thank you for sharing! Blessings to you and your family!🕊✝🙏🏼💖
Hi Kevin, I know that Jason put out a couple of batches of these over time. You may need to spread these a couple of times to get the best benefit of them working. That being said, Jason spreads his in a larger more open area and you are placing them in the enclosed barns which may be more efficient and not require more. I just wanted to put this out there. It may take at least one more application. Just say'n. 😊 I so enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing with us.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. They maybe more confined in the barn to do their job more efficiently. Curious to see the success he has with them!
@@freedomisnotfree9129 I put 50% vinegar, 50% water, and essential oils - mainly peppermint in a spray bottle, give it a shake, and spray it around my doors and places where I'm getting too much wasp or hornet activity. It seems to help. Should help deter rodents around the perimeter too.
I’m glad y’all are trying them! Jason does swear by them. I think Jason also does the garlic lick. I’m not positive. Y’all take care! Prayers and Blessings always
Yes Jason does do the garlic block also. So does Daniel from Arms Family. Daniel also tried the little wasp things. He said he would repeat the process at least 2 to 3 more times. They have them bad also.
I knew you couldn't sneak in the barn without Leeske seeing you! I really enjoy all the sounds coming from the pasture with all the different animals. Chickens, Walt, Millie, ducks, goats don't hear sounds from the Emu yet!
I saw Jason on Cog Hill use those and looked like they worked. I am so HAPPY I haven’t eaten breakfast yet this morning Kevin 🤣🤣🤣 because I would have lost it watching this video.
hey the weather is looking beautiful there today love watching your videos because you explain why you do what you do what its for and what not keep up the great content and I love all your fur babies but i have to say Mojo is my favourite much love to you and your family god bless
I make fly traps from plastic milk jugs. Put an inch or so of water in the bottom, a few pieces or weenie or bits of meat, and cut a couple upside down V's near the top. Push the V in so flies are able to climb in the hole. And hang them in a tree. I use a couple of these traps when I go camping. Besides flies they catch yellow jackets too. They do tend to stink a bit, but that's when they start working the best. When you're through with them just put them in a garbage bag, tie it closed, and drop it in a dumpster.
I'm so glad they told you about those wasps. I had never heard of them until I watched Jason put them on his property. Looks like you will be having a BlackBerry Cobbler and some to freeze or can. Have a blessed day. Love ya guys. 🙏🙏
I get the fly predators from Spalding Labs. We've been using them on our farm for about 12 - 14 yrs. They have been extremely effective. I usually get 5 shipments per season, between spring & late fall.
Kevin I remember him using them also would like to see an update. Have a bless day don't get to hot we have a heat wave this week in Oxford MS. It supposed to be about 110. Have a bless day and prayers for your family and all the animals
Kevin we here know Durham NC have fly problems too I brought fly strips and put them all around the patio and there are window patches that are good for the inside of the house . Just telling how we deal with flys love you and Rachel .❤️😘♥️
We had a pool out back if you will mix half pine cleaner half water the flies will leave your porch. Spray it all over your porch. You will love it and the porch smells clean!
Kevin, all I could guess for the other insects you bought was Green Lacewings. The green lacewing (Chrysoperla sp.) is a common beneficial insect found in the floral landscape. They are a generalist predator best known for feeding on aphids, but will also control mites and other soft-bodied insects such as caterpillars, leafhoppers, mealybugs and whiteflies. Maybe that was it? The answer to most garden pests is the Tachinid fly, (family Tachinidae), any member of a family of insects in the fly order, Diptera. The feather-legged fly (Trichopoda pennipes), is famous for parasitizing squash bugs, stink bugs, and other true bugs. Other predatory insects including the bigeyed bug (Geocoris punctipes), Pagasa fusca and the damsel bug (Nabis sp) directly munch on the all the stages of squash bugs whereas the feather-legged fly adults parasitizes both the nymphal and adult squash bugs but adults of the scelionid wasp (Gyron pennsylvanicum) parasitizes eggs of squash bugs. Adult Tachinid flies lay eggs on the squash bugs, and the larvae consume squash bugs as food. Adult flies feed only on nectar and pollen, so they won't harm your vegetable plants. Ground beetles and damsel flies will also prey upon squash bug eggs if they can find them. Something that most people don’t remember to do is plant the foods that these predatory flies need to keep them in the area and working for you. They feed on sunflowers, carrots, dill, parsley, alfalfa, clover and radish flowers. Having a patch of these will keep them working in your garden for future cycles. Hope this helps.
My cousin used to put pennies in a baggie of water over his door to keep the flies away and from getting in the house. . Don't know if it will help but you could try it to see. Hope the wasp larvae helps. Take care and stay safe out there. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
On our horse and goat farm we live too close to the river and have enough bugs and Nats to deal with so the idea of adding another bug to the mix never sat well with me so we use the large sticky Starbar orange fly sticks and they're awesome inside the house and in the barn they also catch the majority of our wasps too which we usually have a problem with if we don't use those sticks they do their job and NO STINK and no extra bugs on the farm which I like.

You said about the blackberries having thorns. I have a bunch of black raspberries at my place. The last time I picked a bunch of them I got all scratched up. That was a few years back. Now days, with all the blood thinners and things I take, I'd probably bleed to death. lol I bump against something and will notice blood running down my arm a couple minutes later. It gets pretty aggravating. Hope those mini wasp work for you. I know the flies can be a real pain in the butt.
We use the fly traps too, (horses and chickens) positioned 15-20ft away from where you and the animals plan to be. I recommend Spalding labs Fly Predators, need to reapply monthly through out the fly season.
I redo those every year with horses, cattle milk cows, milk goats, sheep, meat goats ( new this year) and like you chickens ducks geese, flies are and never ending problem. But those tiny wasps work. I do the compost pile as well as around my veggie garden
When we lived in rural Nebraska, with the wind blowing from the southwest, the black flies were horrendous. They came from a feed lot 15 miles away! There wasn't any sitting outside on the back porch. Great idea for the wasps!
I feel for you our 1st encounter with them we were on vacation and stopped at these picnic tables. Big Mistake lol ..we have yellow flys and dog flies during the spring and summer they similar to the black flies. Y yellow flies are the worst they bite you and hurts bad then itchy and starts to swell up it sends alot of people to the hospital
Kevin, have you tried those pest strips? You have to hang them up high where no animal can reach them. They are very sticky and insects stick to them really easy. They are inexpensive.
Hope they work for you. Leeske came to investigate. Emu are growing so fast. Hope ya'll have a bless day. Continue praying for Rachel mom. Love you guys.
We use EZ Trap fly traps. They're odorless, and insecticide free... they work just as good as those smelly ones... maybe better 😊 I hope those little wasps work well, definitely good to use more than one method to combat those pesky varmints... flies can be so frustrating
Daniel Arms also used the wasps. He heard it from Jason also. Good luck I hope they work even a little bit will help. How come Leeske sounds just like Mojo?😂🤣😁
I don’t live on a farm but the flies are horrible! When my dogs go out to potty they walk on the grass and 100’s of flies come out of the grass. Hoping this will work. I may try this!
@@lindamcclain9917 The liquid you create can penetrate the dogs skin. As well as, dogs create a oil to protect their skin. Your solution could affect the dogs. Could be you're contributing to Mr. Cash's condition using onions and garlic...even in the fashion of how you're using it. Rubbing alcohol will dry a dogs skin and vinegar will neutralize natural acids in the oils the dogs create and need. Just give the dog Comfortis...what I give my dogs, because it works and it's not harmful to dogs. I should note my wife is a veterinarian and I'm a MD. Also dogs will and so lick their legs, paws, etc.
@@ricks.1092 thank you I deleted my post. I will keep my opinions and thoughts to myself. My apologies. As I said in the post I only use it in the rainy season. I guess I didn't make it clear that i only used it on their legs and feet. I also wiped it off when they came back in. It rarely sat.on them for more than 1/2 hour. Mr. Cash's problem is he has pulmonary damage from adult heartworms living in his body to an advanced stage when I adopted him. It was so severe they did the treatment with what I believe was called the slow method. He has been heartworm free for 4 years but the damage was already done. Thank you again for your correction. I will try to keep myself in check.
@@lindamcclain9917 Linda, I sincerely hope you didn't delete your comment due to my initial response. If so, then repost it. I didn't mean to come off that way. Glad Mr Cash battled heartworm. Because usually when detected, the end results are not always good. So you're doing plenty of things correctly, to contribute to Mr. Cash's battle and defeating heartworm. Personally never understood why people don't provide the proper preventive meds to their dogs and cats. I reside in a small town (4200 pop.) And too many farmers/ranchers get their dogs on heartworm, flea meds. Again, if I came across a bit crass. I do want to sincerely apologize for my behavior. It was not my intent. I just want to help good people with sound knowledge.
@@ricks.1092 I knew better than to post that. So many people do not use common sense. My sensitivity or lack therof was most likely due to little sleep. Having a heat wave with only 1 window unit ain't fun but that's what happens when you are with very limited means. The day I adopted Mr. Cash he was already orange tagged (scheduled for euthanasia) as he was not thriving in the pound. He weighed the same the day I adopted him as when they picked him in and he had been there for 5 weeks. He weighed 69 pounds. He had a fungal and bacterial infection on his skin and was anemic and very sick with heartworms. Now he is a pretty healthy 95 pounds and my rubbing him down every so often with coconut oil has restored a healthy glow to his coat. I was a vet tech for a number of years. Black flies are horrible blood sucking creatures that take full advantage of those close to the surface blood vessels in dogs legs and tallywhackers. I have seen blood drip from their under parts because of those black flies. I was not thinking in my post. I wanted to be helpful but didn't think it could equally be harmful. Your correction was warranted. Thank you
Good Morning Kevin & Rachel! If I’m not mistaken, Jason put them down then spread a layer of hay on top of it and he has did a second application since. Good Luck!
to help get rid of fly's in the house . try using egual parts of , dish soap / water and lemon juice .mix it up . then place in a cup / small dish or what ever you want to use . place in the window or on any table top where it wont be touched. wait 24 hours later and no more fly's / this also works for fruit fly's. this treatment works and we have not had any fly's in our house for years . you can change it up with fresh stuff if you need too or remove and only use when needed like in spring or fall / wet rain days. we found the info on the internet
These do work, but if you have fire ants, like we do, the ants get to the pupae before the flies can hatch. I've even tried hanging them in a little net bag off the fence, and the ants still found them. And chickens will eat the pupae. Takes about 2 weeks to break the fly cycle and see results. Also, if you have close neighbors who don't have their flies under control, you will still get them.
Hi Kevin, How's it going? Good luck with the wasp mixture hopefully it will work for you! Like from the one post 20,000 wasps 🤔 God Bless you have a great day! See you next time !👋❤🙏
OMG I haven't seen "fly wasps" in ages. Those work wonders because the actually go after the flies. If it a larger fly they will lay eggs inside the fly and the wasp's larva will kill the fly.
once a month the stalls/barn need to be cleaned, you could put cement floor in the barn easy to clean once poop on cement dry easy and easy to scoop out. in a close area where no sun shine plus wet manure is gonna be always hard to get read of flies those wasp damage wood and vegetation they nest inside house cracks . but if works its worth a try hope it works
Heh Kevin, yes I saw Jason using similar wasps & I think Daniel from Arms Family Homestead. Here’s hoping it helps in controlling the flies🤞🏼😊 Take care & cheers🐨🦘🥰
Hope they work, . Daniel arms from AFH Used something like that as well, but don't know the results of how it went, Everyone is looking good on the farm, Love you guys HERVEY BAY QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA

Morning Kevin Have a blessed week to all your family 🐖🐄🐓🐐☀️
Daniel at Arms Ff did the wasps too! I hope they work for all of you! The Emu’s are getting big!
Hope they work for you. Leeske came to investigate. Emu are growing so fast. Hope ya'll have a bless day. Continue praying for Rachel mom. Love you guys.
We use EZ Trap fly traps. They're odorless, and insecticide free... they work just as good as those smelly ones... maybe better 😊
I hope those little wasps work well, definitely good to use more than one method to combat those pesky varmints... flies can be so frustrating
Good Luck w the wasps!
Daniel at Arms Family Homestead also used the wasps to get rid of the flies. I don't know if they worked for him.
Hey Mr. Kevin.... loving your videos.....keep up the Great job. We enjoy your family and farm life😁💜😁
On the farm there is always something to do God bless your family
Daniel Arms also used the wasps. He heard it from Jason also. Good luck I hope they work even a little bit will help. How come Leeske sounds just like Mojo?😂🤣😁
I used to put pennies in a plastic bag full of water then I hung it over my front door to repel flies. It worked pretty good.
I love your animal voices 😂😂😂😂 💕
Daniel @ Arms was trying also.💕
I don’t live on a farm but the flies are horrible!
Thank you
I love how Walt responded to you! 😊
How is Ghostface's leg?
Good Morning Kevin & Rachel! If I’m not mistaken, Jason put them down then spread a layer of hay on top of it and he has did a second application since. Good Luck!
Love the Navajo Blackberries. Huge berries and very sweet.
to help get rid of fly's in the house . try using egual parts of , dish soap / water and lemon juice .mix it up . then place in a cup / small dish or what ever you want to use . place in the window or on any table top where it wont be touched. wait 24 hours later and no more fly's / this also works for fruit fly's. this treatment works and we have not had any fly's in our house for years . you can change it up with fresh stuff if you need too or remove and only use when needed like in spring or fall / wet rain days.
we found the info on the internet
I have a Mulberry tree in my yard, so I use the Kunafin around that and it worked!
See you next time !👋❤🙏
I know the racetrack Ellis Park used these and they were quite happy with them..
Praying mantis and dragonfly's have awesome appetites and love fly's as well
OMG I haven't seen "fly wasps" in ages. Those work wonders because the actually go after the flies. If it a larger fly they will lay eggs inside the fly and the wasp's larva will kill the fly.
I'm praying the wasp work for you. I remember Jason put these wasp around the farm but I think I missed the verdict or I can't remember... Ugh.. 👍🤗❤
Jason had to order a second bag and reseed his pastures. So you may have to do so.
Jason's first lot weren't as active as his second lot wheras Kevin's bag the wasps are active .
Daniel from Arm's Family Homestead put some out. I don't remember how many. I hope they work out for y'all. God bless y'all.
once a month the stalls/barn need to be cleaned, you could put cement floor in the barn easy to clean once poop on cement dry easy and easy to scoop out. in a close area where no sun shine plus wet manure is gonna be always hard to get read of flies those wasp damage wood and vegetation they nest inside house cracks . but if works its worth a try hope it works
Heh Kevin, yes I saw Jason using similar wasps & I think Daniel from Arms Family Homestead. Here’s hoping it helps in controlling the flies🤞🏼😊 Take care & cheers🐨🦘🥰
Hope they work, . Daniel arms from AFH
Used something like that as well, but don't know the results of how it went,
Everyone is looking good on the farm,
Love you guys HERVEY BAY QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA
Have a great day.
Daniel from @Arms Family Homestead used this as well but not sure if he ever said anymore about it.
I hate the smell of the fly traps, but as you said, they do work. I believe Jason at Coghill had to put it out twice and he had a huge bag.
I hope the predator wasps help with your fly problem! 💖💖💖
Try some Triple Crown blackberries, they produce more extra large berries than the Navajo or Apache blackberry plants in my area,NE GA.
Leeski was magnificent to spot you! Why not put some of the little wasps around the compost heap?
Jason at Cog hill had a great video on blackberries today.
we are in Florida. nothing helps. lol! literally. I got dogs and I raw feed them and wanted to do more holistic stuff with them. Didn't want fleas and tried cedarcide spray. all natural. and dang!! the smell was so insane I got a instant headache and that smell never went away. And fleas just said....oh well and still jumped on dogs. So I'm with you on the holistic natural stuff. Never seen alot of many things work. And I can't take anything natural. specially if Chinese herbs. Man they make me instant sick.
You need a calf, a pony and a pig in your barnyard…lol!! I love how everything is all in together! I agree with Rachel on the small pond!
Old McDonald had a farm........😂😂😂
I haven't tried the fly predator yet. We live in high desert so not alot of flys. In September we get the biting Flys 😬
Excellent info on the fly wasps , hope they work. Thanks
Hope this helps with the fly problems in the barns.
I’m glad your on top of the fly problems, did you get your soil sample test back from Redmond. The animals all look really good. ❤️🙏👍🐓🐐🐓🐐
Would preying mantis work too. I bought larvae from a garden center a few years ago.
In Central Illinois it is 95° and feels like 111°.
