No matter how many times I hear Hilary Hahn play, she never ceases to amaze me with her technically amazing yet so sensitive perfirmances. A true maelstrom of emotions on hearing her play

CORELLI É CERTAMENTE UM DOS MAIORES GÊNIOS DO BARROCO. SUAS OBRAS E A POSTERIDADE CONFIRMAM ESTE JUSTO JULGAMENTO DE SUAS MAIS DE 76 OBRAS PARA CORDAS. A CLAREZA, A FLUÊNCIA DE SUAS LINHAS MELÓDICAS ENCANTADORAS. A OPULENTA HARMONIA E CONTRAPONTO SÃO DISTINTIVOS DESSA OBRAS QUE JAMAIS ENVELHECERÃO OU SERÃO ESQUECIDAS. TAL É A QUALIDADE DE SUAS MÚSICAS, QUE INFLUENCIOU COMPOSITORES DA GRANDEZA DE VIVALDI QUE FOI SEU ALUNO, J.S.BACH, HAENDEL. E OUTROS MENOS IMPORTANTES DO BARROCO. Am looking through Grade 8 pieces prior to choosing. Vivace - Adagio - Allegro. If the examiners are judging according to Hilary Hahns' performance what hope for mere mortals!!

@fadcullen the interpretation is horrible.
I do understand why you said that.... It is true that the first Allegro, (2nd mvt) was probably too energetic and over-stated to catch the quiet elegance of the Correlli baroque interpretation.... This technically brilliant player has exceptionally good skill at playing staccato and colle bow strokes and this probably led to some of the intended "lesser" step back sections being given the showpiece treatment where neat quiet elegance in the staccato and double stopped chords .was needed! (Baroque forte and piano markings are there to indicate contrast certainly - but not strong louds and softs such as you would play in say a late Romantic piece... or eg Brahms concerto.. Is this why you disliked elements of the style I wonder?)
Excellent violinist. But not for Corelli. Please, don't play Corelli like this.
The quality of the recording is awful, and this piece must be accompanied by harpsicord, not piano. Altogether a very bad interpretation
