Hey tnx for the vid. The gas piston top lid can sometimes be difficult to put on I just use a mallet or the rubber end of my hammer to give it a few taps. That helps. You probably got a rifle that was unissued and is still being broken in. That I was the case with my rifle, Prior II had lots of AKs and was astounded the very first time I had to assemble my sks and it would not come together.
I think your absolutely right about it not being broken in yet. Since I purchased it it still felt stiff and new. The actual gun part is relatively old, however this stock must be just new to the gun. Thanks for your comment!
That's the trigger guard spring. It's a bitch and a half to try and get the trigger guard out without it in there so you'll want to get a replacement as soon as you can. They are cheap on ebay just look up "SKS trigger guard spring"
Do you have any source as to where one can get the SKS Archangel stock kit. ATI used to offer one but I've found none available (shows up as OUT OF STOCK) from most all accessory suppliers. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
promagindustries.com/archangel/stock/sks/ But as I said in the video I wouldn't recommend this stock unless you don't intent on taking it apart often. It's a pain in the ass. But this link goes to a few different colors offered
The sks is extremely accurate? Have you ever shot “an extremely accurate gun”?that stock doesn’t make it “extremely “ accurate…it makes it “extremely useless “ for field use…
The SKS is extremely accurate. Not the stock. I never said the stock made it accurate. Cause that wouldn't make any sense now would it? And you obviously didn't even watch the video cause I openly hate this stock in the video. If you missed that part then that's on you
@@minnesotarange7036 I saw all that lol…just laughed when you said it was extremely accurate…I have an all original russian last year production letter gun…was never issued or fired …I would never “upgrade “ it in any way…the orange laminate stock is just beautiful…
@@gixxerlouis I 100% agree the old stocks are better. I plan to swap my stock once u can find a wood grain one with hardware for a reasonable price. I love my sks, hate what the previous owner did to it
I know. I don't know if watched the video in full but I don't like this stock in any way. I purchased it this way and the only reason I haven't changed it is cause wood stocks are relatively hard to find with detachable mags.
@@minnesotarange7036 I bought a stock on eBay for 55.00 and I love it and is also where I discovered that the wood furniture absorbs the recoil much much better. So much smoother to shoot.
Just got this sks and believe me, you don't want to know how dirty it was. This video helped me out allot, thank you.
I'm happy this was of use to you! Subscribe for more breakdown videos in the future. I intend on using this SKS frequently here

cabelas carries them instore always, but not online anymore.. they had lots of variety when I went in, went with ATI since its half the price.
Ordered mine from Natchez Shooters Supply. It was $118.00 plus $19.00 shipping.
@@SkelstoolboxThank you Skelstoolbox. Appreciate the info.
@@wkrejci1 yeah, when I was in last, they had tons of different stock options for the SKS, but nothing comes up online anymore.
I can't find this stock on Robinhood, is it public yet?
Gotta use cashcoin
Do you keep count?
Did you really disassemble, oil, and put together that rifle a thousand times?
Minimum 1000. Probably closer to a couple million
After every time he shoots it as the corrosive ammo will be the end of it.
A couple million is a lot. You must be a pro or something
pretty sure he is a pro.

I feel like you bought this gun outta Walmart lot
It literally was purchased from a Walmart parking lot. No joke
These poly stocked sks' were in almost every pawn shop I've ever visited pre 2020

Pro tip , move your bird out of the room while videoing ....
Nah, I'm gonna add more bird noise, just to make you mad
@@minnesotarange7036 tweet tweet ......lol not mad
I don’t get it.
Why would you do that to a amazing sks?
The wood furniture on a sks absorbs the recoil way better and smoother than a synthetic stock.
