in 1982, Peter Brant bought all 1400 acres of Conyers Farm for $18 million dollars. This 80 acre estate and the refurbished outbuildings ended up selling for $40 million. Amazing.
It is probably on the North side of Greenwich. I was always amazed with how the Merritt almost makes a semi-circle as you travel from the NE to the SW. My mom told me long ago, that the landowners wanted the hwy to not encroach on their land, or as little as possible, probably along the lines of the latter. Mom knows best right, even if she is wrong.
Then, my friend, it is now time to change something about that! Where's the motivation? You'll never become rich if you just sit around and complain about how much you hate being poor!
I love this. Very rural area and full of nature. Totally opposite from my current client 1000 Museum that show cases Penthouses in Miami. So much Space! Not like out here. Its nice to get a change of scenery once in awhile though.
Do I need a neighbor nearby or, this is OK that "my property" is kilometres away from the first neighbor ? Where I live, public transport is just outside my door and neighbors left right upstairs.
I contemplated purchasing this property as I watched the video........and then I saw the Polo Grounds and immediately felt cramped and claustrophobic. And the stands? Hello? Is this Greenwich or Bridgeport. No.....I'm sorry. I couldn't live with myself if I bought this "estate". Ha. Did you smoke that? I said "estate", what. Muh, ha ha ha.
If I had that kind of $$$ stashed in a bank account, personally I'd much rather buy a piece of real estate in Southern France instead. Monaco would undoubtedly be a plus.
@@LT64444 coming to think of it you may be right. Anyone with access to such an obscene amount of capital can fairly easily afford two properties at once.
first issue it's in Connecticut the armpit of New England. 2nd issue taxes in CT are worse than NY or CA . 3rd issue Connecticut has the worse roads in New England. 4th problem CT is the worse state to start a business, retire in, start a family or a new career in.
I would be surprised if there isn't a helipad & most likely owner would be working in NYC Manhattan or self employed. Birds of a feather flock together you do Greenwich to rub shoulders, Hamptons in the summer, & wherever you please in the winter. This home is particularly suited to the horse set of polo that is a niche market to get such a property in that locale. It will move for sure. Other horse country in CT is not so close to the action of NYC. CT may have issues, but it still retains the country New England appeal for money of NYC dwellers who don't ski & want to haul themselves up to NH, VT, or Maine.
they allowed low income and democratic slow motion tactics to drown out hartford's economy from blossoming the entire state, as well as not gentrifying and getting contracts to build out more city towns outside of the River Vally. Indeed Connecticut has now a lack of significant culture and old money to anywhere near where it could have been, probably less than 3% at its highest in modern times, from where it could have been closer to 8-9% generationally financially significant neighborhoods. with another 7-9% of all statewide neighborhoods, being permanent high middle class.. for instance... north end (FORMER jewish led) Hartford, Manchester with all it's textile wealth and proximity to the city, and practically every single coastal City in the state therefore. NO coast line city should have lower than 100,000K$ household, combined income Neighborhoods EVER. it destroys the scenery and the dynamic of the luxury of proper coastline property. Connecticut, Rhode Island mostly, and Massachusetts besides Boston, and 4-5 greater Boston areas, were CLEANED OUT by democratic low income policy and catering to lower income life which suffocated the rich from staying in many many areas, and therefore giving way to what would have been developments and gentrification, starting what would have been once again from the 1970's & on based on the markets and socio-historical trends and movements.
Meanwhile I smoke cigarettes and drink way too much Mt. Dew and I'll probably die of cancer soon. Living the American dream. 42 minutes away from where I live is Flint Michigan where people are dying from drinking tab water. That makes this place really something special.

Imagine the property tax on that place every year. For that reason I'm out
All this for 65 million yet there's an apartment in New York for 80 million.
This isn't too far from where I live. Yet I'm in Bridgeport arguing with my neighbors over a parking space.
+Angel Torres love the natural earth while we still can, man.
+Angel Torres Ridiculous, right? The rich live lavishly just 20 minutes away and then the greater Bridgeport area is like, welp.
Angel Torres lol Ik it's crazy how you instantly transition from kinda poor area, to an area where the average house cost 2mil.
but no one gives a shit about you...a nobody
I live in Stratford my rent is too high so I’m moving 😂
What! - $65 million and no shoreline on Long Island Sound? I would have to 'travel' to enjoy Wednesday lunch on my yacht. How inconvenient.
indeed. i can't discuss stocks with my CEO on the water
What the hell my accountant Said thats a good deal
You have a point. Was thinking of the beach.
Perhaps, the owner prefers this location.
James Franko Greenwich has properties on the sound too, most of them much less than $65 million

I think it ultimately sold for under $30 million. Someone got the bargain of the decade.
omg...I hate being poor

Johannes R I play the lotteries quite a lot though
+aortablue Good for you but how high is chance to win? 1:90 million?
O ye of little faith!
@aortablue became rich? :p
The taxes must be horrendous.
I was under the impression that Greenwich's property taxes were far, far lower than that of other cities along Connecticut's coastline.

magnificent! a sense of simple but same time grandeur
😍 Spectacular! 🤑
beautiful estate
OMG I WISH I HAD 65 MILLION TO DROP ON THIS ESTATE
Think of what the PROPERTY TAX'S co$t. And that doesn't include 'COST OF MATAINANCE'.
... this truly looks like an amazing property. Love it. Lovely style.... would be fantastic to live in that house.
You can sit in your 65 million dollar home and say, It is well with my soul.
It's definitely beautiful.....no denying that.
Beautiful!
For this price point I don't want to be living in a barn, even if it is totally transformed.
Man I would grow so much weed on that property
Man, there's going to be so many homeless stoners on your property.
Good luck doing that in CT..
You've won best comment in my opinion. (I'm not joking)
With such means, why didn't the current owner rebuild the former mansion as well? Are there pictures of it?
dream place to live. solace.
I'll win this house and have it for sale the very next day
I live in greenwich, ct and I had no clue this was here
just like 30 mins from Manhattan

@CAM OK !!!
Me : not thinking enough !!!

darkmath100 who are you?
lol
Yall dreaming and say about this and that. Don't just say it, do it. Anyone can say it, but it takes a man to do it
I bought this. I'm a truck driver. No big deal.
Sean McNasty Drive my Chicken 🐔 Truck ! Build something like that!
This IS the should have been property Marilyn Monroe and Husband, should have bought, when they moved to CT during their span together.
Beautiful estate

why not have both?

@James Franko because one or two moved there in the past and then it became a name
Barely any of that is true

Unfortunately, Backcountry is going down the drain. This would be an abysmal investment. Stay near the shore.
I thought I was sweet because I have a 4K TV with a PS4 and Xbox One hooked up to it.
But how far is it from NYC?
UnitedPebbles I live on ct and it takes about a hour to get in New York
He said 42 min
GREAT 😎😎😎!!!
65 million and the original house is not even there anymore, seriously: fuck that.
ill buy it for 65k dollars
