- The Fairy Pools in Skye were doing the rounds on social media earlier this year. Beautiful photos of magical looking water: deep, still and crystal clear. Naturally it made the list of 'places to visit' so Chris 'Captain Redbeard' and I jumped in the van and drove from the south east to the remote north west. AMAZING time. This video was meant to slot into a 'Wild Swimming' video I have in the edit but it's just too awesome to hold it back any longer!

SWAM here 12 years ago with my husband and two teenage sons. IN OUR BATHERS you wusses! Felt like swimming in ice cold fizzy champagne. Almost impossible to put our heads underwater and swim through the arch. Stopped off at the Sligachan Hotel for sticky toffee pudding and Talisker afterwards.

Don't think you should have took the money. The guy was a tourist. Would have shown him how GREAT Great Britain is.
Yeah, fair comment. Someone else has said that to me, too. It was one of those in-the-moment things. Didn't really consider it on a greater scale, it just meant that we could fill the van up with fuel for free. In hindsight it would've been the nobler thing to do, but we would've given it back to him whether there was a cash incentive or not

Where abouts on the River is the cave you dived into?? Is it same pool as the arch you can swim under?
What did you do with the £50, did you have a waterproof bag???
We actually just spent it on fuel. Cost us about £180 in diesel - 1,300 mile round trip. Would've been nice to have got a hot meal but we just ate some chips I think! We didn't have a waterproof bag and I forgot the waterproof casing for the second GoPro so it was a bit annoying but we made the best of the situation :)
