Another great review. Great recommendations. I won’t even bother to search any further. I’m going to put my order in right now. Thank you for sharing the knowledge in this product and the knowledge in the art of dog grooming with shears.
I was struggling to figure out what shears to buy till I seen this video. Definitely am investing in kenchii shears. I have carpal tunnel and explaining the swivel shears helped me alot. Had no idea what a swivel shears was! 🙂
Hi Amy, can you make a video on combs next? I've seen that you have a comb for the bath, a copper comb, and you link an andis comb. Ive bought cheap combs and they fell apart within weeks! Would love to hear your recommendations and tips !
Thank you Amy. You are the best. You have inspired me with all you do to help people and to teach. Where do I sign up for Amy's school of grooming. 😁❤️❤️ Love ya Amy!!
@@GoGroomer Just a few months later, you have your own line of shears with them. That did not happen overnight. This video is now 1 year old and a video came out 8 months ago introducing your own line with Kenchii. Hmmmmmm……….
Thanks for all your generous advice. I am a beginner home groomer of a Australian labradoodle. I would like a good set without breaking the bank. What would you recommend?
Yes I definitely am investing in kenchii shears. I can't wait until I have enough to invest in a set..I just got back to work so I need a little time but thanks to you Amy I know what brand I want. I love ask your videos you're really amazing
I probably don't need such professional shears, BUT after watching this video, and exploring the Kenchii site, I feel like the extra cost is worth the education that i just received. I am still curious if the lengths of the shears make a difference...I assume it has more to do with the size of the dog?
At the time I released this video I was not affiliated. My sapphire shears made by Kenchii were released in September 2021. It is an honor to have them make a shear line in my name. Kenchii makes amazing shears at all levels.
This video should give you the answers you are looking for. I do not prefer locking hemostats but I have used them.ruclips.net/video/D3bADGxs4aU/видео.html
A lot of the Kenchii curved shears come offset so you can only use the curve in one direction. What are your thoughts on these? I just purchased the "Loves" and I'm struggling without the ability to switch the angle of the curve. Thank you so much for your guidance!
A curved shear should have an even finger position. It also should have a pinky rest on both finger holes. My Sapphire curves year is made that way for this very reason. They love curved shear is not made this way. Therefore, I wouldn’t choose it. Here’s a link to my Sapphire curved Shear. kenchiigrooming.com/sapphire-by-amy-leigh-sapphire-shears-set-with-case/
Please think about videos for pet owners. I know you don't have a full coat small shih tzu but some owners like myself need help in doing it ourselves. Kenchi is great I'm sure for pros but don't forget about the non groomer who loves to groom without training g.
I focus on pet owners and home groomers. Have you noticed my videos? Not many people keep a dog in full coat so you will not notice a lot of videos on my channel showcasing that. I have a video of a Yorkie in full coat which shows how to trim the outline. 🤷♀️
I had a full coat yorkie that I groomed forc14 years. Full coat shih tzu is totally diff. Undercoat.. mats. Which I have under control. What do you use on the back of the legs .. curved.. thinning shear from under the tail down the legs. I'm not asking anymore. There are a lot of kenchi shears. You ate not being specific. My shih tzu will remain full coat as I take the time to keep her in good shape. It's the groomers here who don't want to take the time .. I want to do a professional job. She trusts me.
I groomed my yorkie with black silky hair to floor. She did modeling for diff companies .. shih tzu is totally diff with double coat. So I don't nerd to see yorkies
It could be they need adjustment at the pivot point or it could be that you're putting side pressure on them by the way you're holding them. Or just plain need to be resharpened.
Hi there! I am a new subscriber and I’ve been browsing through your videos. I was wondering if you have heard of the brand Hikato and if you have any feedback? It’s the only “known” brand and readily available shears here in the Philippines. Thank you for sharing your secrets and tips! Really appreciate it!
Hey Ms Amy, been a fan but heres my first question. I have one toy poodle and two mini poodles, I noticed these shears have sizes, what would be the best shear size to use for them? Thank you so much for the awesome videos!!!
As you know I'm not a groomer. Can you please recommend for a pet owner NOT GROOMER for my thick full coat small shih tzu. I don't need a set for $700 . Please.
You do know I have my own line of shears made by kenchii for everyday use right? If not here is your best bet: kenchiigrooming.com/categories/shears-thinners/signature-series/amy-leigh.html
Hey there Amy, I have a question. I have 3 different level Kenchii shears. I just purchased the LEfty spider set. They are microserated and beveled, so perfect addition to my collection. As we've spoken about before I am a lefty. I was really wanting a curved and thinner swivel thumb pair of kenchii, but they don't make any left-handed swivels at all. I have been trying to find a pair of lefty curve and thinner that have a swivel thumb. Do you or anyone reading this know of a company that makes a good left-handed swivel? I just figure you've been in this business longer than me and you have probably done more research any help with this from you or your subs would be amazing. Signed desperately seeking lefty swivels, lol
You are a wealth of information. THANKS for being so willing to share...and, just for the record, kenchii should sponsor you.
I just want you guys to know that these good tools are available to you too, not just groomers:)

Glad I could help! Yes, size of the dog and the size of your hands. As well as what size shear you are most comfortable using:)
At 4:57 you state “I am not in any way affiliated with Kenchii, I just love their products” and yet you have your own line of shears through them.

I want kenchii shears, they are just soooooooo expensive in Australia 😢
I hope that changes. Everyone deserves to experience Kenchii shears❤️

Hi Amy, I was wondering if you could tell me the difference between the amount of teeth? Thanks in advance!
I bought kenchii lefty shears but no matter what shears I've use from them, all it does is is fold the hair.
It could be they need adjustment at the pivot point or it could be that you're putting side pressure on them by the way you're holding them.
Or just plain need to be resharpened.
Do you have a coupon code for Kenchii?
If we are spending this much on the blending shears, these can be used on humans too?
No, the edge is different on dog grooming shear and could be harsh on human hair. Our hair is not the same as a dogs hair.

Sensei Shears offers lefty swivels. Sensei actually was first to develop the “Swivl”.
Ask Elsie Yee Wong in our private facebook group. I think she would know:)
