      Hehe yup 😂 it’s an endless grind. But at least a framework like Laravel, is the “finish line” for getting a job as PHP developer, if the goal is to apply for a job. Raw PHP isn’t enough 🙂
      Of course you can always continue learning more after Laravel, but it’s at least a point where you can now call yourself a PHP developer. 🙂

    cool. this product was suggested by a buddy. I am an old C programmer from the 90s and did some php on early domains.
    Now, I have a buddy who invested in several LMS projects. But I only learned old WP frameworks and never coded again after 2000. SO here we are in the future. wow. shitz changed a lot!
    So, with that said i hope my c, php, perl experiences will benefit me when I get into this framework for my 'back to school' career jump
    funny, i coded for years, lost my career (thanks for outsourcing...mfk), went into education, and now going back into dev.
    Linux all the way baby!

      Hehe, well I’ll let you in on a small secret 🤫 if you wanna work as a freelance web developer, you can also go the PHP -> CMS route, without learning a framework. 🙂 CMS systems like Wordpress have lots of plugins, for things like a login system, which has expert developers behind them. And in order to customise Wordpress sites, you only need to know procedural PHP. 😉 The only downside is that plugins are not 100% safe to use, since anyone can just create and upload them.
      However, if you want a job in a firm, as a PHP developer, then frameworks are required. 👍 Plus frameworks are created by well known experts, and not 3rd party plugin creators. 🙂 so definitely the best route to go, if you are willing to put the effort into learning it.
      So it’s a give and take… if you plan on being serious as a developer, then a framework is better than a CMS. 😊

    • @Dani_Krossing
      @Dani_Krossing  7 месяцев назад

      Well, technically if you are JUST looking to learn “PHP”, and not “how to make websites”, then basic HTML is fine. 🙂 You just need to know enough, to know how HTML and PHP interacts with one another, to submit and show data. But I do recommend learning HTML first, since it will be slightly more challenging to get into PHP, without knowing it.

    For anyone having issues when trying to use the "laravel new xxxxx" command in visual studio code with the error "laravel is not recognized as an internal or external command", the fix for this is:
    1. Open your system environment variables
    2. Where it says "User variables for [your pc name]" click on "PATH" then "EDIT"
    3. Then press "NEW" and paste in this: "C:\Users\YOUR_PC_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Composer\vendor\bin"
    And it should be fixed.

    • @Dani_Krossing
      @Dani_Krossing  7 месяцев назад +1

    • @jglitse
      @jglitse 7 месяцев назад

      @@Dani_Krossing I appreciate your response so much 🙏. I'm asking this because over the past few years it's all over the internet that PHP is dead.

    • @Dani_Krossing
      @Dani_Krossing  7 месяцев назад +2

      Yes that is a very popular thing to hear online hehe. It is in no way true. 🙂
      The reason some loud people online, like to preach that “PHP is dead”, is because PHP used to be bad back when it was before version 5… Which as you can guess, is YEARS ago hehe… but the current PHP 8 is MUCH improved, modern, and up to date. 🙂 So because those people newer bothered checking it out again later on, once the newer versions released, they are spreading misinformation… 😕
      Another reason people “hate PHP”, is because it’s primarily a “web development language”. So some out there will tell you that “languages like Python are better”, without actually considering the use case, and “what people need to do with the language”…
      If you are a web developer, PHP is better 🙂

    • @jglitse
      @jglitse 7 месяцев назад +2
