He was one of IU's favorite singers so she decided to have this song remade and was supposed to release it as a single for her Flower Bookmark pt. 2 album in 2017. However, days before she was supposed to release this single, speculations arose about Kim Kwang Seok's death (and his daughter's death, as well), prompting the police to start a re-investigation about his death. It was revealed that his wife did not report to anyone that their daughter passed away in 2008, only publicizing at the time that they flew to the United States. Kim Kwang Seok was a singer loved by all Koreans up till now. With The Heart To Forget You may be considered as his most popular song. IU explained why she did not release the single in a concert she held. She said, "However, after reading the recent news with interest and thinking it over for a long time, I decided not to include the song in this album. I thought it would be hard to treat this song as just a song, and people might feel emotions that are unrelated to the song while listening to it and feel uncomfortable.”
