    Once my project started getting bigger, it started to get latency.
    Thank you, you are a life saver!

    Finally I can record again!! This latency came out of nowhere and I was really losing hope, thanks my dude

    That was driving me nuts thank you! I’d like to record vocals with a little bit of river for inspiration, but I kept getting a delay then I just tried them dry and still a delay so this will be awesome

    Thanks Jono, I had no idea that a low latency feature existed? And wow! So many ways to customise the top bar as well! I can normally keep a very good sense of timing, being a long time bass player and couldn't understand how I wasn't playing in time when using the keyboard? But hey! As always you have the answer and I now can play with confidence again.......been driving me mad!!!!

      Discovering this feature is a game-changer for recording, especially for bass! Thanks for your kind words, Gary and stay tuned for more.

    THANK.YOU. I’ve been trying to quantize less for a more natural feel and the latency was killing me. This helps a lot!

    This gets compounded when you’re playing a slow-attack instrument or when you want a less quantized result. For aligning slow attacks to sound more centered on the beat, I go to the track’s info menus and offset it rather than moving the notes (I might change my mind about an instrument or copy the line to another instrument). Human feel also needs to be recorded without latency. True, some human feel is merely a bit of raggedness but an intentional early or late hit is a different matter. This little button is a big help in all cases. As always, Jono, thanks for another valuable tip!

      Hi Gary, really pleased you enjoyed the vid and it's a really good point about the difference between human feel and intentionally early/late hits. Stay tuned for new tutorials every Friday!

    First of all lessons are awesome and it’s a big treasure for Logic users. And also we all know that Mr. Bucanan is very talented and handsome man. But his area fills barely half of the screen, sometimes some areas can’t be seen. Could you please make a little screen for Mr. Bucanan at the corner? It’s just an opinion. Thanks 🙏

    Thanks for another great video! I’m fairly well versed in latency, but how does one solve the same issue while mixing? For example, a CPU hog on the 2-bus?
    Cheers - Tim

    • @mojekh
      @mojekh 10 месяцев назад

      I had the same issue and I had to reach Low latency feature in Setteings/Audio/General to switch it on and increase the samples delay. Otherwise I had large latency from my Waves Audio pluging even during the playback.. Now it seems it works fine.. If you have any other tip, i would appreciate it :)

    Hi. Please help 😢 I have this problem with my focusrite 2i4. On mixpad. I'm trying to add guitar to my previous recording of reggae. So as you can imagine timing is critical!!! It's always late. Iv adjusted everything ". The millisecond latency settings do nothing. !? Only the buffer size makes a difference ?? But it's never right. Any ideas? If you did a video on mixpad " with Windows 11. I know a lot of people would be very happy ". Thanks Kai

    The introductory explanation of what Low Latency mode does and how latency comes about is wrong. We need to make a distinction between plugins that introduce latency and those that don't. Those that introduce latency, like Logic Pro's Adaptive Limiter, don't do so because they are such a "beast" of a CPU-intensive processor, but because that's part of the processor's look-ahead design. The latency in the Adaptive is not a result of it being super CPU-hungry. It's a result of the look-ahead mechanism, and the latency introduced is exactly as long as you set the look-ahead. This type of plugins that introduce latency because the plugin looks ahead at a certain number of samples, this is the type that Low Latency Mode deactivates. Now, there are plugins that don't introduce latency. In fact, the vast majority of plugins don't introduce latency, because they don't have or need to look ahead. For this type of plugins, Low Latency mode doesn't do anything, regardless of how CPU-hungry they are. This is because those plugins don't introduce latency, regardless of how many of them you add and how CPU-intensive they are. The latency in this case is dictated by the buffer size and your computer is either able to write the buffer fast enough in each cycle or it isn't. If it isn't, then you get pops and crackles or a system overload error. But your latency does not increase. Your explanation makes it sound as if CPU-hungry plugins introduce latency and Low Latency Mode deactivates those CPU-hungry plugins. That's not what is happening. The Adaptive Limiter needs extremely little CPU, but it does introduce latency. CPU-intensity of an audio processor and latency are not related.

    could you explain why I experience latency on all my projects? I bought a new laptop about a week ago. Monterrey and using newest version of Logic Pro, no plugins added either. Should work perfectly but doesn't.

      record with low latency mode on, if you have plugins that introduce latency on your channel or on the stereo out bus

    But what if you have a slight latency when you PLAY the song? When you notice that all your Midi and audio tracks together make the performance a bit "wobbly"?? Thank you

    • @MusicTechOfficial
      @MusicTechOfficial  3 года назад +1

      Hi, Jack! Do you mean that your playing is lagging, or that there's some technical issue causing latency elsewhere?

    • @jackstm2738
      @jackstm2738 3 года назад

      Yes, when I have like 20 tracks with different virtual instruments I notice that the whole performance is not tight on time anymore. And I hear that everything slows down a bit, gets faster again and this repeats through the whole song. I‘d say it’s hard to notice for someone who hasn’t got a good feeling for timing, but I hear it instantly.. This „puffer“ setting is already on 256, I don’t know what else to do. I try to bounce a few tracks from midi to audio to turn of the VST which helps a bit but normally it may not be a problem for the system to run properly with the amount of tracks I‘m working with. I just don’t get. Does Low-Latency Mode also helps when you just replay or listen to a song? Thank you very much!
