Its not an excuse, and she isnt using it as one if you could actually follow along. She likely has some sort of serious issue that has dug deep into her head, its not like she willingly wants to feel so bad. Edit: im not willing to go around replying to people if they dont understand that: 1) Depression is pretty bad and can get serious. 2) Depression can be paired with other things like anger issues and trauma to make it worse. 3) Just because someone says they dont have depression doesnt mean that they dont have depression. 4) Not everyone has the same experience when it comes to having depression, or even in general. You cant assume that you know exactly what ribs is going through. Its not difficult to just connect the dots to realise that ribs was going through something bad. If you blame her for letting her anger out your perception of life is pretty narrow. Nobody is perfect and people were beating her while she was down for letting out anger, which many people do.

As a teen also growing up in Australia my guess is that ribs may be struggling a LOT with becoming an adult and the society of Australia Teens in aus are being raised horribly recently. Parents are becoming lazy or even downright abusive. Australian schools whether they be public or private ruin a teens mental health and most of the time teachers only make it worse. It’s really hard to explain if you aren’t Australian or have never been in the Australian school system (which I’m assuming you aren’t but I do not know). Aus kids/teens have stopped asking for help because they are afraid people will not care, make fun of them or get mad at them so the anger just builds and builds until it’s too late, and you can’t help them. Becoming an adult is hard. Growing up is *hard* and one of the hardest things to do. This is not me defending her, but it’s my guess/take on what *might* be happening behind the scenes.
Hey man i grow up next to Australia (Indonesia) and i lived a very weird life, like in kindergarten i was acing all the way but then when i reach elementry school i feel like i was builied and that thought went to my head all the way to elementry school and once i realised what happend in elementry school i regreted it because my friends there are overprotective of me because i will make scene if i don't get the thing i want. But when middle school i was quite and alone (becauese of fhe china virus) i realised that i was a fool and regreted. So rn i'm at highshool and i want to change my self to become a better person. As someone who is struggling with severe depression, her condition makes it easier to understand why she’s acting this way, but it doesn’t justify her actions WHATSOEVER. I hope she'll realize one day that there ARE good people out there within her community that are willing to help her through this, and apologize for all she has done to hurt her audience. I had a friend who acted similar out of nowhere, he used to be one of my best friends and all of a sudden he just shat on me especially in front of other people we both knew well. Then eventually he just ghosted me and never explained anything, it hurt a lot because he was one of my first true friends and he just threw me out of his life like trash, the only reason I know he even ghosted me was because he ended a friendship with a mutual friend and then left every group we were in and never talked to me again. Sometimes people change, and unfortunately it's not always for the better.
Finally a good video where it has full evidence of why Ribs was acting in this way, I always loves her content not because her drawings, but rather how relatable and good it is, after she offline, I was wondering what happened, and then when I saw her say Death Threats, I thought she was get hacked, turned out she was going through depression, it’s like she went through hate and jealously, only to find out that she got nothing in return, she can only fix herself now, her audience trying to help but she take it back and instead attack them
Though just like everyone else here, I agree depression isn't a good excuse to tell your fans to off themselves. But taking advantage of her mental break down to bully her further more is much more disgusting to me. You don't need to be a physician to be able to tell who's currently in the right mind. Apology is due, that is certain. But for the time being, ignore her words for now. Support if you want to, ignore her too, if you want to. But as I said earlier, don't bully her further more.

I find this very unfortunate. I always watched Rib's animations because I found them funny and entertaining, so to hear things have gone south makes me sad. In truth, these are empty pleasantries. You may be able to send "good vibes" and express your support, but can you REALLY help? In the throes of resentment and sorrow, these good intentioned but otherwise unhelpful may come off as mocking, perhaps subconsciously so. its a sad tale about a present issue. mental issues are'nt just a roadbump, they're a pitfall. a pitfall with quicksand, if they dont get help, and/ or cant escape, it consumes them until they become nothing. a missing person's case that nobody cares to pick up, or looks into.

In my opinion, Ribs had so many options to choose from but she chose the worst option out of all of them. There were many ways she could handle her anger or depression maybe like getting mental help but she chose to encourage self-harm.

In the past I really loved the animations ribs made, high quality but simple at the same time, I loved every animation until she all a sudden stopped posting for a while. I didn’t have any other social media apps/websites at the moment, only RUclips and google. So I didn’t understand what was going on and got kinda sad until around a month later I saw a video about this and that she quit. I didn’t expect it to go this way at all, it was honestly a big surprise. Every day I did still check if she posted anything but most of the time nothing. Eventually I checked less and less until I forgot the channel. Now over a year later I see this video. It still makes me feel kinda sad but all honesty, she did not have to get so mean and disrespectful just because she has depression, like everyone here I think that it’s no reason to be rude, disrespectful and even bully people. That’s all I got to say.
No matter what the hell you're going through, can be depression, autism, anxiety, bad mood etc, it is never a reason to let it take control of your words and actions. Your mind is what you must dominate, it all depends on how much you want it.

The human mind is unpredictable. We may assume we know what Ribs is going through, but we don't really know what she is going through because her mind is not our mind. We do not fully understand what Ribs is going through because we do not know what is really going on in Ribs' mind or how she really feels. We do not know why she is doing this. We do not know if this is impulse, taking out frustration, or it was intended. A fire is sparked in her mind, and I feel like that we are feeding the fire. Perhaps, it's best to leave Ribs alone until we know that the fire has died out. She is probably irritated that we think we understand but we clearly don't.
Same thoughts here, I myself had hard times myself, but it's seen more so as periodic breaks. I mean, not like someone needs to tell their community they're having a tough time if it's too difficult. It can take a toll. Sometimes one just needs time off. A break... a rest. But then there's the sudden snapping. I myself never found aggression to make me feel better., If anything it looks to be detrimental. I just turn to other things, chores, tending to my pets, writing. Anything to de-stress. Reading, sleeping, talking to friends. Granted, not everyone has good friends, or a good family. Even then there must be something they find some form of relaxation in, reading or writing or maybe video games or something.
I really really hate what ribs had to go through cuz even though her actions are inexcusable, i still do think that she was a good person deep inside, just corrupted by the people around her and the australian education system (case in point, the rib ring bio.) and if i could, i would just give her a big hug and im sure alot of other people would feel the same as me.

In my opinion, while depression is a horrible, horrible thing, I don’t think it’s an excuse to tell people to die. What if someone went through with it because they had depression and now someone they looked up to was telling them to kill themselves? If she had these feelings of anger, I feel as if there were other ways to vent it… I just don’t think becoming the problem is the best solution.

Respects, I currently am depressed and for almost a year straight didn't even realize I was depressed until a youtube ad showed up talking about how depressed people don't realize their depressed and then I realized how insanely different my mood and actions were for so long. I didn't want to be one of those people who jumped the gun and said depression instantly when anything bad happened in their lives I was one of those people that tried to move on and not call myself depressed even when it was clearly very difficult to move on. I tried feeling happy and normal everyday as if nothing ever happened only to realize deep down that the thing that caused me to be depressed is still there and that I can't do anything about it anytime soon. Finally accepting the fact that nothing can be done to get me back to where I was before and accepting the fact that I was depressed was probably my best move so far throughout the whole year of going through literal hell. Everytime someones tried to ruin me in a small or big way (unless its accidental) I have just gotten completely mad at them usually for weeks or months, while knowing it was wrong and honestly I HOPE one day I get the strength to own up and forgive them fully because some went as far as to apologizing to me as well and yet i'm still pissed off, insult them very often on purpose and stuff similar to that. I'm self aware, my action of being upset like this is completely wrong and I hope other people aren't like this or even have the thought of being like this. Infact the only reason that makes me want to change and no longer be upset is because I'm scared the people that I'm pissed off like this to may end up being like this one day because of my own ignorant actions of being super upset. Before all this I used to actually forgive people very easily no matter how much bad they've done to me. I used to wonder why forgiving was so difficult for some. And now I know why, Now I'm clearly the opposite. Forgiving people was also actually an issue in my life but I learned to live with it since it made the other person feel better. I would rather prefer to be where I was before all the depression causing events happened then where I am at currently. It feels horrible. From my experience there is a way out, but it is difficult. Such as The events around your life (e.g if something good happens in your life), time, doing whatever it takes to get back to where you were at previously. And most importantly, getting shown genuine love and compassion by people who care about you or friends/family etc even if they don't mention or know about your depression. Also, she keeps claiming she's not depressed when she clearly is, hence the start of my comment. Her actions clearly show she's depressed or having some mental breakdown or something terrible. I'm obviously not ribs and Idk her story or experience but this is definitely similar to some extent and I hope no one else goes through anything like this it is pain. Seeing these people just making it worse by hoping she gets bad comments made me pissed. To those people reading this; HOW are you solving the problem by hoping to make the situation worse?

1) Depression is pretty bad and can get serious.

As a teen also growing up in Australia my guess is that ribs may be struggling a LOT with becoming an adult and the society of Australia
Teens in aus are being raised horribly recently. Parents are becoming lazy or even downright abusive. Australian schools whether they be public or private ruin a teens mental health and most of the time teachers only make it worse. It’s really hard to explain if you aren’t Australian or have never been in the Australian school system (which I’m assuming you aren’t but I do not know). Aus kids/teens have stopped asking for help because they are afraid people will not care, make fun of them or get mad at them so the anger just builds and builds until it’s too late, and you can’t help them.
Becoming an adult is hard. Growing up is *hard* and one of the hardest things to do.
This is not me defending her, but it’s my guess/take on what *might* be happening behind the scenes.

I had a friend who acted similar out of nowhere, he used to be one of my best friends and all of a sudden he just shat on me especially in front of other people we both knew well. Then eventually he just ghosted me and never explained anything, it hurt a lot because he was one of my first true friends and he just threw me out of his life like trash, the only reason I know he even ghosted me was because he ended a friendship with a mutual friend and then left every group we were in and never talked to me again. Sometimes people change, and unfortunately it's not always for the better.

In the past I really loved the animations ribs made, high quality but simple at the same time, I loved every animation until she all a sudden stopped posting for a while. I didn’t have any other social media apps/websites at the moment, only RUclips and google. So I didn’t understand what was going on and got kinda sad until around a month later I saw a video about this and that she quit. The human mind is unpredictable. We may assume we know what Ribs is going through, but we don't really know what she is going through because her mind is not our mind. We do not fully understand what Ribs is going through because we do not know what is really going on in Ribs' mind or how she really feels. We do not know why she is doing this. We do not know if this is impulse, taking out frustration, or it was intended. A fire is sparked in her mind, and I feel like that we are feeding the fire. Same thoughts here, I myself had hard times myself, but it's seen more so as periodic breaks. I mean, not like someone needs to tell their community they're having a tough time if it's too difficult. It can take a toll. Sometimes one just needs time off. A break... a rest. But then there's the sudden snapping. I myself never found aggression to make me feel better., If anything it looks to be detrimental. I just turn to other things, chores, tending to my pets, writing. Anything to de-stress. Reading, sleeping, talking to friends. Granted, not everyone has good friends, or a good family. Even then there must be something they find some form of relaxation in, reading or writing or maybe video games or something.

In my opinion, while depression is a horrible, horrible thing, I don’t think it’s an excuse to tell people to die. What if someone went through with it because they had depression and now someone they looked up to was telling them to kill themselves? If she had these feelings of anger, I feel as if there were other ways to vent it… I just don’t think becoming the problem is the best solution.
She's funny. In any scenario, what she does is NOT ok. If we continue to assume that she has depression (she did not say it directly, we can only guess), then this does not make the situation any better. I go through depression most of my life, and very severe, but you know what? I never try to translate this depression into anger, which I then direct at other people

I had a best friend (who coincidentally is also a RUclipsr), who also then began to take out her anger on others, and say how bad everything in her life is. She didn't show it on the channel for the most part, but those who knew her personally went through it. Such people CANNOT be helped. Respects, I currently am depressed and for almost a year straight didn't even realize I was depressed until a youtube ad showed up talking about how depressed people don't realize their depressed and then I realized how insanely different my mood and actions were for so long. I didn't want to be one of those people who jumped the gun and said depression instantly when anything bad happened in their lives I was one of those people that tried to move on and not call myself depressed even when it was clearly very difficult to move on. I tried feeling happy and normal everyday as if nothing ever happened only to realize deep down that the thing that caused me to be depressed is still there and that I can't do anything about it anytime soon. Finally accepting the fact that nothing can be done to get me back to where I was before and accepting the fact that I was depressed was probably my best move so far throughout the whole year of going through literal hell.
Everytime someones tried to ruin me in a small or big way (unless its accidental) I have just gotten completely mad at them usually for weeks or months, while knowing it was wrong and honestly I HOPE one day I get the strength to own up and forgive them fully because some went as far as to apologizing to me as well and yet i'm still pissed off, insult them very often on purpose and stuff similar to that. I'm self aware, my action of being upset like this is completely wrong and I hope other people aren't like this or even have the thought of being like this. Infact the only reason that makes me want to change and no longer be upset is because I'm scared the people that I'm pissed off like this to may end up being like this one day because of my own ignorant actions of being super upset. Before all this I used to actually forgive people very easily no matter how much bad they've done to me. I used to wonder why forgiving was so difficult for some. And now I know why, Now I'm clearly the opposite. Forgiving people was also actually an issue in my life but I learned to live with it since it made the other person feel better. I would rather prefer to be where I was before all the depression causing events happened then where I am at currently. It feels horrible.
From my experience there is a way out, but it is difficult. Such as The events around your life (e.g if something good happens in your life), time, doing whatever it takes to get back to where you were at previously. And most importantly, getting shown genuine love and compassion by people who care about you or friends/family etc even if they don't mention or know about your depression.
Also, she keeps claiming she's not depressed when she clearly is, hence the start of my comment. Her actions clearly show she's depressed or having some mental breakdown or something terrible.
I'm obviously not ribs and Idk her story or experience but this is definitely similar to some extent and I hope no one else goes through anything like this it is pain. Seeing these people just making it worse by hoping she gets bad comments made me pissed. To those people reading this; HOW are you solving the problem by hoping to make the situation worse?
@@Mechays I understand you perfectly. I'm also not one of those people who likes to see bad things, and I try to live better, but at one point I came to the realization that I really have depression. I came to terms with it pretty quickly and just accepted this fact, and sometimes I can even joke about it. I would like to get rid of depression, but sometimes life is not as simple as it seems
It's good that you are self-aware of your actions. This is the first step on the way to fixing your problems
As for the fact that there is a way out, then you're probably right, but not in the case in which I found myself then with my friend. She perceived any actions as an attempt to harm her. Maybe her case was just special and very difficult
As for the fact that Ribs is definitely depressed, I think yes, it's noticeable, but I'm just not one of those people who likes to make assumptions and then pass them off as fact, even if it's something obvious

Depression or not. I hope they don’t come back to the Internet. Definitely not a place for them. People like that don’t change💀💀 seems like spoiled brat syndrome.
It’s giving “no body loves me I’m all alone” teenage ahh. We all went through it in our youth. We’re ungreatful and upset at the world. Nothing is ever enough when someone is in that stage.
