While I'm all for wanting to see gameplay of a full match, it can't be denied that the level of creativity and depth that the team at EA has put into the career mode for EA Sports UFC is outstanding. I expected nothing less from the team that brought us boxing's series-defining Fight Night Champion. I am amazed at how in-depth and stream-lined the fighter customization and career mode is. It seem to me that days of the menu-heavy career mode are finally gone, and it looks to me like it's become more about getting your fighter through the training programs and into a fight as quick as possible; as opposed to the previous titles navegation of 3-4 menus just to begin a fight. This is EXACTLY the type of stream-lined process we fans have been waiting for in a UFC career mode. Great job EA keep up the amazing work.
Already pre-ordered when Bruce Lee was announced.... but so glad this career mode is going to last me for years to come. I was playing the last ufc game for 3 years.

I just hope it's possible to go the full 3 or 5 rounds. in UFC 3 you were only going to a decision if its what you wanted to do. getting KO's and getting KO'd was way too quick to me. even with the clock moving at twice the normal speed my fights always ended in submission or (T)KO
at 1:20 there is a angle of the caf and Anderson Silva in their stances across from each other and it looks like a possible camera angle we will get when the game comes out. it looks really awesome what they are doing with the game plan and the applied skills towards your fighter cant wait to play this game.
Same here, all of my fighters go 48-0 through out the career mode in UFC Undisputed 3 and I always felt like I was being punished by being forced to retire. If I'm the current title holder and I'm undefeated, then why am I being forced to retire? I'm so happy that EA is finally giving total control of the career mode over to the players. Now the length of your career is entirely up to you. Now depending how smart you approach each fight you could have a very short or very long career.
With: 25 levels to fight through(current level cap in career mode), over 100 roster fighters, and 200 EA generated CPU fighters "all of which level up and learn new skills just like you"-EA creative director Bryan Hayse. EA Sports UFC is going to have the most challenging and in-depth career mode ever put into a fighting game. I can't wait to sink my teeth into the career mode, and earn my spot in the UFC Hall of Fame.

it's actually more realistic, if you stop training something you will be worse at it especially when you are at high levels. The only realistic counter to this is if you are getting better training so you get the same improvements over less time.
I would totally agree with you here. I don't mind resting before a fight, but to have your stats decrease is frustrating, boring and would be enough to make me rage quit. UFC 3 undisputed did a kinda cool thing that if you spent too much time training for ground and pound then your stand up might suffer a few points, so they made it better to alternate a bit. But I did not mind so much EA fight Night Champion, where you trained and had to rest before fights. To give everyone a big example of what Attero is talking about, take THQ UFC 2010, I do beleive. Say you focus on stand up, then your grappling or submission would decrease to the point of being non existent, and then your oppenent just does one submission attempt and easily pulls it off. Frustrating!! I prefer to practice and be sufficient in different areas, but NEVER should a game make it to where you forget how to completely do a move, how stupid!
JoshTruff I understand what you mean of the realism to a point. To say "that you might be less effective at submission" if you do not practice it, I would agree. But to say not train for it between just 2 fights for example and all of a sudden you can't remember how to even pull off a move?
longevity part seems shitty. This just means players who put all their points in to grappling will dominate. I want to go all out and bash skulls not go to the floor and lay on my opponent like the boring fights in the ufc.
I'm right there with you, it makes sense logically but it's a game my fighter is going to take shots and be exciting. Of course in real life those fighters don't last but you know I'm gonna do it. Maybe they will balance it with excitement. A fighter with a rougher beat em up style always gets more recognition then the guy who plays it safe. Unless the plays it safe guy goes 10 and 0 then people start caring.

I bought the first UFC game and it took a week or so before i understood all the controls, but the career mode was my favorite...ill have to buy this one and check it out...definitely looks like you guys put a lot of time into it

Will you play the role of the brawler going for the KO with brute force while eating punches and kicks; only to have your career end up being a short but exciting montage of highlight reel matches? Or will you play the role of the tactician? Foregoing brute force in favor of staying elusive and countering your way to long and illustrious career, filled with championship gold and ultimately leading to a coveted spot in the UFC Hall of Fame. With these two new features in place, it seems to me like the length of the career mode in EA Sports UFC has FINALLY been been put in the hands of the player. Thank you EA for giving controll back to the player.
If there is one thing i hope ea sports take from UFC Undisputed 3, its that in career mode they have fight camps like AKA,ATT,Black House,Wolfslair MMA Academy,Sityodtong USA, and Greg Jackson's Gym and we can choose which one we want to go to.

They arent working on a fight night at all at the moment. It's something Brian Hayes will try to pitch to EA down the road but theres nothing in the works at the moment.

The ignite engine has totally revolutionised sport sim, making them enjoyable again. It would be good to see a next gen rugby or tennis game employing these mechanics.
i got my pre orders for the xboxone and ps4 im sure i will get more online fights on the xboxone as the ufc is big in the u.s and the xbox brand is bigger in the u.s than the ps4 brand and the last 3 ufc games before this one sold best in the u.s on the xbox360

Career Longevity is nice to have. I remember Evander Holyfield’s “Real Deal” Boxing on SEGA had it. It was not displayed, but after so many fight, training/ recovery could not keep up with skill/ body degradation. It was nice to see how long I could hold on to the belt, getting weaker and slower every fight.
They should make so that once your longetivity reaches a certain point, your athleticism stats start decreasing so you're not just whooping everybody's ass at the end of your career. Just a suggestion
I'm all for another fight sports title / especially a next gen one and I am looking forward to it - but - I would LOVE to see a career mode acknowledge a fighter doesn't start off with 30/100 strength speed etc - your fighter isn't 12 years old - they're an athlete - would be amazing to see a career mode give you a start with a natural boost for speed, power or athleticism as a base and build up skills like a real martial artist or boxer does - Ali started out fast but learned technique to harness that speed - Silva is super coordinated and athletic, but learned technique over time. Conditioning should really be the only thing greatly affected outside game planning IMO
This looks pretty sweet. I hope the takedown defense is better than in the last game though. It was so frustrating that no matter how good your fighters takedown defense was you would still get taken down like 80% of the time, even if you were rotating the right stick like a mad man.
In just that little seconds where the fighter starts punching and kicking the punching bag, it seems that the gamplay looks very similar to de ea sports mma, all we need is a footage with actual gameplay, not just some flashy cinematic scenes from the gamplay

They made something like this just watch trailer again,if you got lot of injuries then it will affect your stats and your character will become weaker

As long as the game play is dang near the same as UFC Undisputed 3, I'll buy this game. But def worth a try no matter what.

This looks pretty sweet. I hope the takedown defense is better than in the last game though. It was so frustrating that no matter how good your fighters takedown defense was you would still get taken down like 80% of the time, even if you were rotating the right stick like a mad man.

In just that little seconds where the fighter starts punching and kicking the punching bag, it seems that the gamplay looks very similar to de ea sports mma, all we need is a footage with actual gameplay, not just some flashy cinematic scenes from the gamplay
