I feel you're Radagast in modern times. At least from your chicken's perspective. It's such a beautiful, vertuous cycle, I loved you highlighted it at the end.
Hello, I’ve been watching your videos and I wanna say thank you for your excellent work and contents 👍 About the snake in farm, I’ve learned here in Morocco we use tar: it’s a dark liquid that can be obtained from petroleum, coal and wood … that snake can’t stand it 🌱 Good luck, hope the chickens are still dancing in the morning 😊
I have chickens as well. My husband and I built an automatic door that didn't require any power of any kind. Except chicken power. It works on weight, chicken weight. The last chicken on the roosting bar tips the bar and a pulley system closes the door. In the morning when she jumps off the door opens. Great system except that one morning early a Bob cat came in and killed all of my chickens. New chickens are now in a very secure pen , safe from predators.
Love is in every second of this little movie, you do everything with love, I can feel it because my heart fills with joy everytime I watch your videos. Thank you
Oh my gosh ! Those snakes were huge ! That new chicken door is very nice ! *Side note funny , I was scrolling through my notifications without my reading glasses on and on your thumbnail photo , I read "smurfs and whiskers" 😂 rather than snakes and chickens ! Oh my that gave me a good laugh !
Wow I love this guy's groundedness! From Denmark he sounds surprisingly aborigional.... maybe a past life?... I relate to your intuition weedy, mine has helped me all the way. Keep following your calling. Enjoy the journey!
I just had to watch the part where you fell 3 times for a laugh and because I can’t count how many times I’ve fallen in the garden. We are part of a club now. Also - I like the new door. Good job coaxing the snake away.
Weedy I on the other hand have to thank you because I saved $$$ (and still do) because my fancy coop does not have a floor either! I rake up the manure every morning - saves me heaps on floor bedding! I did however build a safe run for them so no wolf, dingo, snake, fox or any other chicken-eaten- lover can get in! They do roam free by day but turn in way before dusk. :) I have to add in that some of mine don't lay anymore either but they keep me entertained!
If they roam free, they may be laying in the bushes & shrubs. Have you gone on an egg hunt? My first flock free ranged and I found a nest with 22 eggs in it one day, hidden under a Juniper bush.
@@lorianderson2008 Sure I have found some way back. I have rescued ISA Browns amongst my flock so I have no idea which of them are still laying (I know one can check on that) I don't mind because they give me so much joy. Yesterday 'we' were pulling out some tall grass and weeds and they were more in the way than helping me. Their happy chatter made my heart so full. Blessings :)
Hey weedy. Wondering about the run and how it affects the amount of food you give them. I assume they get kitchen scraps and go on daily bug hunts. Do you supplement their diet with store feed?
The thought of dealing with snakes can be frightening in the mid-Atlantic region in the US where I live... but doing that in Australia where 10 out of 10 of the most deadly snake species in the world live 😱 Weedy, you have nerves of steel!
Je croyais que les serpents avaient peur des poules, c’est ce que j’avais entendu dire, mais peut-être est-ce différent en France et en Australie ? En tous cas bravo pour cette magnifique porte automatique et ce poulailler génial et déplaçable !
Next time you may install an elevator as well. Good stuff. Btw, when I watched you building the shed, you said you lifted because of the snakes. I felt dumb, for I thought they can go up, but i was here to learn. Some day I will learn that you might place the net around the legs, in order to clean it easier and giving the chickens more room, once the door won't open. Nice garden.
the main concern in this part of Australia is the highly venomous eastern brown snakes which don't tend to climb, so he was probably thinking about that. Pythons are a threat too though so he was right to close it up.

They aren't poisonous snakes. But I don't want to have them eating my chickens
that electric fence is touching heaps of branches it wont work like that they have to be completely clear
It still sends a wack- just uses more power.
Is it battery operated?
yes

Hey weedy, I've missed your face and video's ❤ I have heard pigs eat snakes. If so, maybe they will protect your chickens.
