      I'm starting at 60.....Had to take things down to the dirt due to a Cat 5 in 2018. So I had to have it cleared and all the debris removed. I sure miss my beautiful pecan trees but I have a few young ones that are my main trees now. It still looks stark and it's just me but I'm plugging along . Wish I was 20 years younger and knew what I know now.....Thanks for doing these videos because they are very inspirational.

    It is incredible to see the transformation of The Weedy Garden in three years. And to watch this amazing channel with the useful content that I have been able to implement in my own quarter acre suburban block. My own vegetable gardening started at the first lockdown 2020 same reason frightened at having to fight for food. In the time since I now preserve food by dehydration and cooking jams sauces etc. I am constantly looking for ideas to change my little garden. On Monday adding my own chickens as there seems to be a shortage of eggs and the like everything have become super expensive. Just tonight needed icing sugar none in pantry so made my own, no difference. So thankyou David for inspiring me and others by watching your amazing journey.

    Looking good in the weedy garden!
    A little tip regarding trees: if you water and give compost/manures/liquid fertilizers/compost teas/... around and away from the dripline of the tree, it gives incentive to grow bigger roots which leads to better drought resistance and a stronger ankered tree during storms.. l also would recommend a video from shillcult channel about the different ways to train (shape) a fruit tree to not have it break and split under a load of fruit.. Happy growing Weedy 🤙

    Truly inspiring. There is a quote you have from one of your earlier videos that I have started using when people ask why I have found a newfound interest in gardening, composting, weather and nature overall. “Being around nature allowed me to achieve a new state of wellbeing.” It’s the best way to put it in my mind because wellbeing can mean a lot of positive things to everyone. It could mean physical, mental, spiritual, and by using that quote I always hope it inspires others to take a new look at the nature around them. Maybe, just maybe, they will go after that ‘wellbeing’ that they have been longing for in life.

    Great transitions, Weedy. Drone shots from the same perspective over the years really captures the transformation. Thanks for inspiring people to keep documenting and sharing this kind of work, and clearly showing how quickly and easily we can restore diversity. I think it will be increasingly valuable as the world rapidly changes. There’s data in every frame, information about different species and their interactions, how they react to your influence on the site, etc. Things you might notice years from now, subtle processes that can be observed through time. Even a single grainy photo from over a hundred years ago can be endlessly fascinating and valuable for showing us the changes that occur over time. If a picture is worth a thousand words, what is high def video / audio worth?

    Weedy, love what you're doing! Love the swales and the compost and the worm garden... It's all good! Had a question... Up here in the United States, incorporating fungus in a garden is starting to take off. When you think about it, every forest has a mycorrhizal network that connects all the plants in a forest together and helps support each other. So what about in a garden? Plus you get a bonus, delicious mushrooms to eat.. If you do it right! I've been looking at this company in Maine called North spore... If you're looking for more information. I would love to see you try this 😊. Keep up the good work! Cheers! 🍄

    I keep lovin' your stuff .. and I want to say .. I really like your wheel barrow advertisement .. noticed it before .. but didn't say anything .. so now that's done! I don't see why feeding your plants just plain ol' rot water .. or compost tea .. without air .. is perfectly okay too. I've been doing it. I set an round IBC container up on a pallet .. 2 concrete blocks high .. been dumping in the top old grass, some chicken manure, weeds, tomato clippings, etc. and get a great tea coming out the bottom .. which is diluted further and line fed .. as well as watering buckets to my plants .. which seem to love it. Enjoyed seeing some fruit that we don't have in the US. Bubble Gum fruit! 💖

    • @TheWeedyGarden
      @TheWeedyGarden  Год назад +2

      Yo. I’ve got that set up too with the rotting water but you can put on too much sometimes. I think it is ok if you dilute it. Bubbly worm juice is safer for me because I can’t overdo it.

    It has been a truly lovely journey; thank you for taking us along.
    Today, I have been able to garden in the rain, thought of you, and wished I had been barefoot, too, since my boots got rather squelchy. But it was lovely change from the sweltering heat we have been having.
    I also started little Panama berry plants, so one day, I am sure when I am picking those sweet berries, I will think of you and gorillas in food forests.
