    One of many~ I can’t thank you enough. Huge emphasis on the “Don’t panic.” LOL. I also work on a few pieces at once and have been avoiding on fixing the ones with sticky spots. You gave great pointers though and make the process seem less troubling than I thought. Today’s the day I fix them! Thank you🎨💖

    Just want to let anyone reading these comments that this video was the most helpful video I've watched. I've had each of these issues. I always come back here to check. Just thought I'd put my two cents in just in case you are panicking or hesitant to do exactly what she told you to do. DO EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAYS!!! 😊. She will also get back to you quickly if you leave a question. I am just very appreciative to have people like her around when I need them and when I was in a panic. Don't Panic! It works! 😊🐇💗

    I just wanna say that I love these videos! Sometimes videos made by the company can come across overly manufactured or make it seem like nothing ever goes wrong with a product. These videos are great at not only addressing what can go wrong but also how to fix them. And they also talk to you like you're an actual consumer and not like you're someone watching an ad for the product.

      You should always finish your mix in a separate clean cup and scrape the sides of the first cup into the second cup and finish mixing for another 2-3 minutes. She isn't even giving proper mixing instructions

    • @JuiceBoxx_627
      @JuiceBoxx_627 3 года назад +2

      This is how I mix my resin and I scrape my sides out to not waste my resin and because I finish in a second clean cup, I have zero unmixed epoxy.

    • @JuiceBoxx_627
      @JuiceBoxx_627 3 года назад +2

      You should also NEVER add a new layer over uncured epoxy as it will seep through and make someone sick. If there's sticky spots scrape/sand them out or strip the piece, it will never cure and is extremely toxic.

    • @Artresin
      @Artresin  3 года назад

      @@JuiceBoxx_627 Yes, you can certainly measure in separate cups then pour into another to mix. It is always important to ensure you are mixing 1:1 and ensuring you are getting all the resin and hardener fully incorporated.

    • @Artresin
      @Artresin  3 года назад +1

      @@JuiceBoxx_627 When faced with wet resin that didn't cure, it is important to scrape off all of the wet resin as Joanne demonstrates in this video. Once the loose wet ArtResin has been removed, you can then go ahead and pour on a second layer of perfectly mixed ArtResin. You are correct in noting it is important to remove the wet resin since it will never cure and will end up seeping out, but I am happy to tell you that ArtResins formula is non-toxic 🙂

      If you follow her saying it's ok to put resin over uncured resin it will make someone sick. The uncured layer will never cure and will seep out and make the person very sick as uncured epoxy is extremely toxic.

    Hi. I have started working with resin for the first time, I have seen a lot of tutorials so that I could work with it. I made some mistakes as doing a large project 😱 and first the top section was brilliant , it was clear and looked really good, I then did some sides and it ran over the top piece which then left sticky patches, and have to admit I panicked and thought I had ruined the whole project, but seeing this video I can have some hope of recovering the whole thing. Thank you from a beginner 😊

    Thank you so much for this video and information. I was on my third coat because of bubbles and uneven coverage on the edges of my canvas. I don't know what I did wrong, but I have a runny mess of uneven resin! In tears (my first commission piece that came out beautiful 😭😫) I actually had 2 canvas' I resined at the same time. So it's obvious I mixed something wrong. I ran off the runny resin with hopes of it drying by morning. After seeing this video, I highly doubt it will cure, but now know I can probably fix the problem! Thank you again for this wonderful video! I'm going to "try" to 😊! Here it is two years later and I found you by searching in RUclips for How to Fix resin mistakes. You solved my problem. I’ve been using this brand, 💜 ArtResin of for nearly 3 years and had not make any mistakes. I’m a rock painter and use Heart Resin/Hardner this whole time.
    My mistake: I use a very small amount (1/4 cup). equally from both bottles. It’s enough for 4 or 5 medium size rocks. First, I had put in 1/4 (I use measuring spoons) of one of the bottle. I put the lid back on. I got distracted for a bit. When I returned, I couldn’t remember which bottle I used. I had a 50/50 chance of using the right one. I wasn’t confident. Lol. 12 - 14 hrs later, the rocks were a sticky mess! I guessed wrong! Aaarrrgghhh.
    I wasn’t sure if there was a solution. In fact, I doubted it. The second way you said to do it if your project was just sticky, not runny. The solution was to just redo the project corrected. IT WORKED!! This morning, all was great. My rocks project was saved! Over dramatic, I know, but for me it was. I don’t know if you read comments, especially when this video is 2 years old.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 💕💋

    I was working on a beautiful mold a few days ago and filled the molds with water to make sure I was making enough resin mix. I thought I measured it right but was dead wrong. When I poured the resin I was short a little more than 1/4". I freaked and rushed to make a new batch to fill it but it had been over 2 hours so I didn't know what to expect. Well 3 days later the new pour hadn't cured yet and I tried everything to heat the cast but no success. After watching you video I braved it and spent about 3 hours removing the last pour. Wow what a headache. Anyway the remaining cast is sanded and still a little sticky but the worst is done. Taking a break for today and starting again tomorrow. Wish me luck on completing it. Even though I'm frustrated (because I'm a newbie and wanted to give this as a gift) I am grateful to you for giving me the inspiration to go for it. I know now my rushing caused me to make the wrong mixture so in the future I will be extremely careful in mixing. Thanks for sharing...

      In the case of inaccurate measuring and mixing of resin or colorants, unfortunately the resin may not cure any harder. One possible solution though is to carefully measure and mix another batch of ArtResin to pour on the bendy piece to add strength and support.

    The MOST helpful video I've watched. I'm very careful about measuring and stirring, I've even put a small heater on my shelf to increase the temp in the room, warmed both components before mixing and as one brand suggested, put the mixed resin in a small dish of warm water to warm that up and get rid of bubbles. I don’t ever have liquidy resin but have a real problem with sticky spots. Me being the cheapskate I am, though, I carefully scrape the resin out of the container not to waste any, and i think this is likely my problem, even though I'm so careful about the initial stir. I'm going to do another batch to try to fix some [many]!
    Any ideas about float of flowers and greenery used for bookmarks? I've tried putting them in the molds before pouring any resin, and pouring a layer before adding them and then another layer. Either way, have to push them down into the resin several times, and they still rise to the surface.

    Great video, thanks for that! Just curious though, when you say tacky, is that the same as sticky? I've got a piece that has some pretty thick resin, and the very top of it is left sticky. now it has finger prints and dust debris build up. Should I just clean it with the alcohol, then sand it with 80 grit, and do another pour after the bad part is gone?

    • @Artresin

      Yes exactly! Sticky=tacky :) You'll want to remove any debris and poor over it. If is sticky there will be no need to sand, the next layer of resin will adhere right to it!

I like the idea bout rubbing alcohol to clean n water for dust because those particles can be a pain to keep from blowing around when your in a heavier traffic room. I have teens n a dog so i worry even with a air purifier.

      One thing that might help is to be sure that your mixture does not have any ribbons in it. Sometimes stirring slower and longer will help that problem.

    I loved the video on sticky resin. I made a bunch of straw toppers and they out sticky. What I tried, because the pieces are small, I use clear, high gloss nail polish and then put them under the UV light. Thank you for your great information.

    This video was the best ever! I watched it a month ago and it saved my very first commissioned piece! I couldn't believe I could have done that. The resin had not hardened at all. So I scraped it all off per this video. I was sick inside thinking I had totally ruined it. I am thrilled to tell you after I re-resined it, it came out perfect! Yaayyy! Today I found that 6 out of 38 pieces I resined yesterday was still tacky today. I really don't understand how that happened when the other pieces came out perfect. I resined them again tonight. Came back here to make sure I did the right thing. Seems that I did. Fingers crossed, but I certainly feel more confident that it will turn out all ok, especially after my first resin disaster a month ago. Thank you again for your wonderful explanations!

    • @shalinm4

      Your mix was not proper because it's still wet ,not an issue you can use a fresh batch of resin mix and apply .
