Wow, nice video clip. I like it much. You were nice here no problem making the QSO with you. That fishing rod works very nicely. I'm sorry for the problems with stations want to take the frequency. You were much stronger than that! Great set-up and great QSO. I hope we will do it again. Best of luck from Slovenia, de Janez S51DX
Thank you Janez, I am glad I could contact you on that day, I am usually at much lower altitude. Your setup is awesome and always a great signal here in Quebec. You were 59+10 at times, Thx for the QSO, 73
You can always count on S51DX. I am pretty sure he doesn't ever sleep! IK4GRO, too, very dependable operators. They are a thrill to get the first time when you first get on HF and want some DX on a small station. Great video, Frank.
I found you channel yesterday and I enjoy it a lot. I'm PY2KGB currently living in Montreal and learning how to do radio outside, in the winter and without a car. I could learn somethings already, like the led lights that increase qrm. Since I only hear that one was a good one for me hehe 73
Hi Frank, tnx for contact and for this nice video record 🔝!! Your signal into my shack was very loud ! 💪💪...Hope to meet You agn on the air, 73* de IU3BTY Val 👋
Hi Val (IU3BTY) You were booming in here! I'll try to go there again or try another mountain around. I really enjoyed it!. Tnx for the contact Val, hope to contact you again! 73
Nice location Frank. I like doing similar portable ops here in Italy (check my QRZ.com page). Hope to hear you sometime in the future. It looks like the propagation from Quebec to Italy is doing the job. 73s, IU3JNT
Hello Jorge (LU8HRW) from Argentina! Thanks, maybe if I could get a little higher I may be able to contact you!!! That would be 8500KM. I went as far as Russia on phone, let's hope propagation allows a QSO. Thanks for the comment! 73
Thanks, I plan to make a video describing the antenna stand in the coming weeks (weather warming), it is a self-built, easy, very sturdy and portable stand.
Very Nice Frank, Super QTH for portable radio ! I would have liked to know the amperage and the autonomy of the battery with the IC-7300, as well as the power used. What is the reference of the Box used to store the equipment ? Thank you and I hope to listen to you on 20m. See you soon. 73's from 14FBG07 or F-15413 Bernard in JN38IT
Hi and thanks, the battery is 12V 75 amps, using a voltage booster to maintain 13.8V, the TX power is 100W. The Box is a Gator 6U Audio Rack Standard. 73
@@VE2FGJ Hello, yet another question do you have a DC booster model to advise me ? Thanks in advance. I often listen to the 20m Band, until 1:00 UT, at the moment there is good propagation, I am unfortunately limited with my antennas which are telescopic or active ... I hope to listen to you one day. @@14FBG07 Hi and thanks for your feedback! The DC booster I know and use is the MFJ-4416C, it does create RFI / Birdies on HF but some use it and have no problems. There are other companies making them but have no recommendations. I saw your YT channel, lots of videos!! I also like to listen to SWL when the Ham Bands are less active. Thanks again and may be you'll catch me on the air! Good day and 73

Yes we have "Ham Radio Stars" that are so familiar and fun to talk to, sometimes even at QRP level, Thanks for the comment 73!
Hi Frank, Nice video. Very nice portable setup. I'll have to try that. K7GUD

Nice setup, where can I get details of your antenna stand? the one you step the tire on to keep it firm on ground

Nice video, nice setup. But no way would I want to haul that big box of equipment with me. I'll stick with my Elecraft KX2.
Barry, KU3X/QRP
Thanks Barry, It sure keeps the body in shape, I may travel lighter next time with the IC-705
