“I’ve changed my shirt to display the passage of time” lol
I’m going to have to quote you on that one haha
Great video as always
Haha, cheers man!
Greetings and respect from Finland! Been meaning to write this for a long time, but better late than… I painted figures in the 80s and early 90s after which I’ve only dabbled some minis with my son. But I do enjoy watching all these RUclips tutorials and painting content - it’s a relaxing hobby of sort. Of all the plus dozen different channels I watch videos from, yours is one that leaves me with the most positive mood (NJM Marco is refreshing as well :)). Also, as a youth worker with a focus on boys’ and men’s health, I really appreciate you incorporating wonderful nuggets of a holistic lifestyle in your content. Phew, long comment. Absolutely enjoy your vids and amazed by your creative style. Peace.
Right!? He really has a special thing going on.
I’ve taken on the role as the weird but supportive auntie at our little flgs and on more than one occasion I have been stoked to see the young guys at the store really be there for each other through some rough times. A lot of them clearly have an emotional vocabulary and access to applied empathy that would have been virtually unheard of for young dudes when I 20-30 years ago, when I was their age.
I am super impressed with how they have each other’s backs when life gets hard!
I don’t doubt that people like Sam has a hand in other young guys understanding the value of not only having a good friend, but daring to BE a good friend when it counts.
All the best from Denmark
Hails and cheers! Thank you so much, im.happy to hear that. Miniature painting has always been my rock and lot of it's metaphors can be applied to daily life. I've worked and have to maintain a healthy mindset, glad that's being felt. Sisu as they say :)
Awesome results Sam. That gang is tight. You can do wonders in a few hours. Something to aspire to. Thanks for making this one!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! 💪
The framing of this is something you could do in a month is such a great thing to bring up for us weekend warriors. Love that! Love the video!
Great video. I love the way you converted the Goliaths using the Jahkals. The regular Goliath kit all have samey looking builds. The variation adds a nice touch of realism.
Beautiful work. I really must start incorporating wet blending into my process. Vince did a beautiful job of explaining some of your process and made it super approachable too after your coaching. The green on the bases @3.18 before the rust really looks like natural slightly mossy stone flooring.
Thank you, glad it was helpful! Good thing Vince is across the hall heh.
Goliath gang look killer. Very inspiring. Great job.
Yeah buddy! Thanks!
Beautiful! Insane in the amount of time you invested. This is something I need. I've lost a ton of motivation since the beginning of December. Definitely need to set goals again and get with it. Ain't doing no workout in the middle of a session though! Stay safe!
Haha, safety first! You can do it. I know my life is wrapped around mini painting, be everyone has some hobby time. Maybe less, but it's achievable:)
Amazing as usual Sam, never cease to inspire…so talented pal!
Thanks so much! 🙏
@ Said it before Sam, you truly are the best out there. Love what you do & how you present.
While I enjoy looking at competition level pieces, this is an approach that is much more within my technical reach and much more realistic in terms of hobby expectations. Thank you Sam, for demonstrating that despite being able to win multiple Golden Demon awards you can actually paint an entire squad within a reasonable amount of time and demonstrating once again that WET BLENDING ROCKS!
What a cool looking gang! I love how each member looks unique and true ganger, far from the "industrial/military cloning machine" most Necromunda gangs end up being on the table.
Industrial military closing machine 😅 Extra funny because of their lore. Thank you!
I always use stopwatch when painting, this gives me a good prediction how long a project will take and when I can buy new models while keeping my backlog in check. I love your Goliath Gang, I also painted them in the past and really hope you will do another gang in future. I would recommend Escher as they are real fun to paint, but honestly every gang is nice in Necromunda. Once again, great job!
It's a good way to set expectations and also carry a sense of accomplishment. I'll have to work on some Escher next time. Thanks!
Looking forward to this one! I needed some motivation to get through my eldar!
I believe in you!
Thank you for this video. I have long wanted to paint my miniatures. Been watching lots of RUclips videos. I get lots of ideas. I want my army to look awesome, I think understanding the color selection and just doing it is my hardest conquest. I enjoy all your work and also other painters. So it is time to buy some paint. Make a working area and just have fun .
It's all about the journey, my friend, enjoy it!
My enemy.... time management 😂 . Keep up the amazing work ❤️🤘🔥👍
Haha, I believe in you!
Love your videos Sam. Always a great inspiration. Wonderful instruction and coverage. Enjoy the games, love the art, keep on keeping on.
Hell yeah, cheers man. I'll keep it up ⛓️
Love it! Great inspiration to kick off a saturday of putting paint on my pallet only to just watch youtube :) lol
Yeah buddy! Get it done ⚡️
Good to see this. Thanks!
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
I love necromunda its the best games workshop game out there so love the fact you are making content for it and promoting the game. Well done
Heck yeah, thank you, Robert!
Man, I freakin love your videos and your art. THANK YOU
You're welcome! Happy to hear that!
Legit content with no distractions. Love to see it.
Thanks man, I appreicte hearing that :)
Sam everything you do is so well thought out!
May I ask how much you delude your paints to wed blend like this? Also what Medium you use?
After putting your brush in the cup of water, do you take some of the moisture in a piece of cloth?
Thanks as always!
You're too kind, thank you :) I'm using a moist brush. I would compare it to a stone that has been wrung out. My paint is only dislikes by the small amount of moisture on the brush. It can vary as painting is touch and go. Bu the wet in wetblending comes from the paint and not much, ir any, dilution. I have a video, intro to wetvlending that will help explain my use of that technique in more detail. You got this!
You really mogged those minis, FULL paintjob! Praise the M'bloat Lord
Elric! Train like a goliath ⛓️
Great video. Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks, man! Cheers!!
This was great! They look awesome 🤯
Any particular reason you used thinned down grim black and desolate brown, instead of washes like dark tone and grimdark shadow or voodoo shade?
Thanks, man! Grimdark shadow and voodoo shade weren't released at the time I made this video. Desolate brown has a warm ochre tone and also a good depth of shadow, it's from the speedpaint line so they has some extra magic. I always thin my washes down. Cheers!
Fantastic video!
Many thanks!
Was not entirely ready for the gun show intermezzo, but dang, little brother!
The models look great, but as usual I am even more inspired by your thoughts and little challenges. I am mostly just trying to get some painting done two or three times a week atm. I am very much still a newbie when it comes to mini painting, and I don’t think a timed challenge is optimal learning for me right now, but I will definitely consider being mindful about how I distribute my time around painting.
Thank you for yet another good video.
PS: The VV cameo was stellar. Thank you for giving us glimpses into that friendship - it really is healing for the soul to behold.❤
Thanm you for these kind words :) Train insane, it's the goliath way ⛓️ I'm glad you enjoyed this video. With my tutorials, I'm trying to share ideas that people can apply to their own hobby.
Good thing I have Vince across the hall to motivate me ;)
Great video. I've been doing a bunch of army painting, so figuring out where to save time has been important.
Agreed, maximum on what you like and let some other details be more background material. Unchained!
Always inspiring. I love necromunda myself. Lots of fun
Love the explanation on the speed painting buddy. Well done!
Thanks man, happy to hear that :) Cheers!
Great commentary 😂 thanks Sam
Any time! 😎
Thanks for sharing ❤
Thanks Captain!
You rock Sam
Back at you :)
nice painting AND a Dracula flow quote. Nice
Ahaha, Love that maniac.
Boss content dude 👌
Cheers, Monty!
Huzzah,, time is my mind-killer !
It makes a fool of us all, but we must fight against the clock!
Haha, That Vince part sent me.
He's always a room away ;)
All these research papers investigating the optimal order of Cardio and Weights while what we really need is to find the optimal order of Weights and Mini Painting.
Necromunda! 😀
So fun!
O yes glorious a heat death
Bring a weenie 😎
Nice Work! But this anint no army!😂
I will argue, one could apply this to an army as it's exactly what I've done in the past.
Learn to wet blend. Roger that.
You can do it! Check out my video, intro to wetblending for more details. Cheers!
@@SamLenzArtwork watched it today and joined the discord. Unchained gang gave me some tips.
The opposite of zenithal is nadirial
Like 666 🤘talk about timing 🤘
If you can still paint after lifting you didn't lift hard enough!
