WARNING ARMY UNITE
The Warning sound has a classic rock feel with other elements added (punk, pop, grunge) that make it sound unique yet familiar. Just good, solid hard rock. Try some more. And watch for an invasion by a large and vocal fan base known as The Warning Army (TWA). Look forward to more.
Try any song off their recent EP, Mayday. It is really the first half of a full album that they split in half due to COVID restrictions on their ability to tour. They have also recently released a 7th song. They are, in order: Choke, Evolve, Disciple, Martirio (in Spanish), Animosity, Z and Money. We expect the rest of the album to drop any day now. They have a pretty big back catalogue from their days as an independent artist, including 2 albums, an EP and some individual releases for a total of about 40 original songs. That number is multiplied by videos of a ton of live performances. You will have a lot to choose from off their RUclips page. They are now signed to Lava/Republic records and the Mayday material is the result of that collaboration.
Love, love love these girls. Three sisters, Dany (22) lead singer/guitar, Pau (20), drummer/lead/backing vocals, and Ale (17), bass, backing vocals and substitute lead on occasion. All three play piano as well. They are from Monterrey Mexico, are multilingual, but perform mostly in English, with two songs released in Spanish. They are currently on their North American tour, but will join with Halestorm and the Pretty Reckless after they finish. The rest of The Warning Army (TWA) will be by shortly to give you more information than you know you want. Hope you stick with the girls for a while and go down their rabbit hole. You are going to wonder why you did not know about them before this reaction. You have a new sub if you go there. You have been Warned!!

The Warning have an incredible sense of composition and arrangement and the way the instruments complement each other, in some songs like a continually shifting mosaic. Certainly here the guitar is providing the texture and atmosphere with a few subtle lead notes to complement the lead vocal, the bass is the foundation for the riff with a few tasty runs the deliver us to a strong downbeat, but that arrangement leaves a lot of space of the drums to provide almost a counter rhythm and the most flare. You'll find a very different balance on other songs as they never feel pressure to make every instrument a star on each track, but each has its turn (and sometimes all three) depending on what best serves the song itself. They have a very mature approach in that regard (which will leave you yearning for Dany guitar solo often, but when it comes the pay off is *chefs kiss*).

The Warning are three sisters that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest- 17) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 20) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 22) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band.
They had been uploading their musical journey to RUclips for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and started rehearsed for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show! The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10,000 each to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ma. USA.
They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album "XXI Century Blood" in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded "Queen of the Murder Scene" and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues.
In June of 2019 they released a single, "Narcisista". A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. The Warning is totally fan-funded through Patreon, RUclips and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever!
So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lockdown was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on RUclips and Facebook achieving well over 50,000 simultaneous viewers on March 25, 2020. They have since performed from The Warning Cave couple more times including for the city of Brownsville, Tx. for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star.
On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records, a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey, USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After three months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February, 2021.
In March of 2021 The Warning was invited to cover a song from Metallica's eponymous 5th album (The Black Album) with Canadian Grammy and Juno award winning pop star Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist album. A 30th anniversary celebration for the Metallica ablum. They selected to record Enter Sandman, a fitting song because it was this song that propelled The Warning 7 years previous into stardom. The Warning reimagined the song with Alessia and produced a fresh new feeling that goes above and beyond what others have done with the song...

On October 8th, 2021, The Warning released six songs that were recorded for the new album on an EP titled Mayday with the remaining 6 song to be released at a later date.

This is a great band! Just saw them live and WOW! Check out their live studio sessions or live videos which don’t tend to get blocked as much. Evolve, Animosity, … anything really.
They are sisters btw from Mexico. Dany:22 guitars/lead vocals on 75%ish of the songs. Pau:20 drums/lead vocals on 25%ish of the songs. Ale:17 bass/backing vocals and can sing some lead live if needed. They have 40+ originals out there

Congrats on that growth and hope the family is doing well. So, welcome to The Warning. Absolutely love these young women. Everything they release is phenomenal. Its just classic in your face rock that gets you moving and generally in a better mood. Their live shows are the best. Just amazing amounts of energy. On top of that, they are wonderful people. They treat the fanbase like family and the fanbase (The Warning Army or TWA) reciprocates. They're currently touring North America and are in Destin, Atlanta, and Tampa this weekend. The Warning's catalog is the greatest rabbit hole you can ever go down. They don't have a single bad song imo. I would recommend checking out Dust to Dust live at Lunario, that song is the perfect opener to a show or album.

I recommend to watch them playing live, because Daniela "Dany" is switching betweed lead and rhythm guitar all the time. Paulina "Pau" really is insane on the drums and beside that she's also singing lead while drumming in a couple of songs. The youngest sister Alejandra "Ale" isn't just a bass goddess, she also has a beautiful voice. But mostly she sings background, because she didn't enjoy lead singing. But there are some rare moments, like a few days ago where Dany became ill and couldn't sing 100% all the time, where Ale sings lead.

Atlas Rise at the Whiskey A-Go-Go. Crazy good cover, so much energy even though it was near the end of their set. There are several live concerts online, they are fantastic live.
They don't have a bad song. I'm more of someone that puts lyrics over the overall sound. Black Holes is my favorite song from them.

The Villarreal sisters are amazing songwriters and performers. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "Queen of the Murder Scene", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards.
Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI Century Blood", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards.
Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "Escape the Mind"; and it is amazing.
Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage.
After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020.
They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called Mayday. "Disciple" is my favorite track!
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock.
Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico.
They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old.
Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC.
When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 22, 20 and 17 years old and have already written and arranged #44 original songs all by themselves.
I've seen them twice: once in 2020 and recently last month in Berkeley, California. They are even better LIVE.

Read through the comments for suggestions, but my favorites that hooked me are “Dust to Dust”, live at Lunario CDMX (Pau, the drummer, sings lead vocals), and “Survive”, live from a TedTalk (Pau and Dany, the guitarist, split lead vocals - and they were much younger then, as well).

These sister's are amazing, Daniela (lead vocals and lead guitar), Paulina Drums and lead vocals, Alejandra Bass guitar and backing vocals . This from their Mayday mini album, six tracks in all, every one is brilliant. Next try "Z" if you like the drummer, Paulina is off the charts on this track. My favourite track is "Martirio". Their first two albums were released on vinyl , these are like gold dust to buy.

The Warning is normally better in a live video over the studio versions. I would suggest checking out one of there "live session" vids. (Evolve, Z, or Animosity) good quality audio & video but still has a lot of the live feel.

This isn't a great example of it, but all three of them sing, and they all have a unique style to their voices. Alejandra(bass) sings the least, but Daniela(guitar) and Paulina(drums) split lead vocals about 60/40 leaning toward Dani....
