    Just wonder how well the patch held up and was there still noticeable air loss after being patched?

    • @LifesSweetJourney
      @LifesSweetJourney  2 года назад +4

      No air loss! It has held up great. Been slept on multiple times since we patched it and it is still well inflated when we wake up.

    A patch repair kit is always important to have handy especially when going camping! It's always good to be prepared.

    We are just buying an rv and camping gear. I’m going to add this to the list. It’s easier than I thought it would be. I cannot wait to travel and hit the river again.

    Oooo saving this for later because I can already tell my AirFort is destined to get a tear with how hard the littles play in it. 😅

    I totally have an air mattress that has a hole somewhere! The hardest part for me is figuring out where exactly it is.

    • @LifesSweetJourney
      @LifesSweetJourney  2 года назад

      Blow it up and then feel around for any air coming out. You can also pour water over the seams and if it bubbles anywhere then that's your hole :)

      You have to use soapy water. Not just plain water. But you dont wanna soak your mattress so it's best to just take a flashlight and go in a quiet room and get down in your hands and knees and inspect every inch really close. I found that putting my face closer to the mattress I can feel the air better than with my hands. Also to patch holes just get a pack of glue stick made for hot glue guns and take a lighter to it to melt the end and smudge it on the hole.

    How come no one patches the fuzzy side lol

  • @brocks1stop342

    Tried it. Doesn't work on the fluffy side. And if you do have these patches, once wet they fall right off. A common method to find a hole in your air mattress is putting water in it. When you do that, previous patches come off. Even if you take a heat gun to the area if there's even the tiniest bit of monster they won't stick. I even got the heavy duty flex seal they use for boats supposedly, and it couldn't handle a little water.

      Putting water inside the mattress? I hadn't heard of that. Would that cause mildew? Thanks for the input! We will make sure not to put any water on it. Thankfully it has held well so far for us but it's been kept dry.

      @brocks1stop342 Год назад

      @@LifesSweetJourney it might if you filled it and never emptied it. The only other method I've heard of is the soap water solution, and I tried that for a solid hour with no luck. I'm applied super glue to the patch now and the area is completely dry. I almost got the spray sealant, but since it's flammable I stayed away from it.

      Did you find a solution for repairing the fuzzy side?

    • @organizemovers9636
      @organizemovers9636 Месяц назад

      This does work on fluffy/velvet side. You will have to apply some alcohol to the fluffy/velvet side where hole is, use a dry rub pad and scrub off the fluffy/velvet surface until you get to the vinyl(the surface there presenting in this video) part and then apply the patch. The alcohol will help the velvet/ fluffy part remove easily….

    These sticker patches are useless. You need hot glue or rubber cement.
