  • Today we spun up some maple cotton candy goodness in a 2:1 ratio (sugar : maple sugar) and boy was it good! Although Gold Medal does sell a ribbon specifically for this purpose (to help convert more maple sugar into cotton candy) we found our regular heating ribbon to work sufficiently well for this ratio. Now we are trying to figure out what cotton candy flavors we can make mixed with maple sugar. . . let us know in the comments below if you have any great ideas!
    Hartland Hollow Modern Homestead provided the delicious maple sugar for this video, you can check them out here: www.hartlandho...
    If you are looking for Gold Medal maple sugar specific ribbons, a quick search brought up ribbon #55441 and supporting 3077 machine. If you try this ribbon or supporting equipment let us know how it ends up working out for you!

    Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge and experience! I’ve had my Vivo for a whole week now and am in love. You have such clear, conscience, and enjoyable content. I watched your videos and was fully prepared for my 5 year olds birthday party!

    This sounds wonderful! All I kept thinking was that you need a slice of bacon wrapped in the maple cotton candy or perhaps some bacon bits sprinkled on top. LOL

      That would be SO good!!!!! Seriously, I'm obsessed with that maple cotton candy!

    I get that you CAN make this any machine, but I have found that it doesn't turn out that well in my small table top unit, perhaps partially due to lack of temperature control. So I'm wondering if you are serious about making maple sugar cotton candy, you need a high end unit that has a temperature control on it for optimal results? Or would it spin up just as well in a mid-range machine, like the Vivo?

    Hello.. Thank you for your video, its full of important knowledge of cotton candy making, i'm from Indonesia, a tropical country. Which is super hot when its summer, and when its rainy season its humid , is there any special mix so that the sugar won't melt too quickly? I have tried many times but its melt in seconds and its doesnt look nice and fluffy like yours

      There isn't a great option. Prepackaging it in a dry room or building would be best. The bags should be heat sealed before taking them from the manufacturing building.

    Do you think it would work to put 2c granulated sugar in a baggie with 1/2 cup maple syrup. Mix it together and use that flavored sugar mix?

    • @spunparadise8823
      @spunparadise8823  3 года назад

      I don't think it would, the wet ingredients will most likely burn in the machine

  • @TheGilmoreTribe
    @TheGilmoreTribe Год назад

    We just made it today but learned that it burns and makes the next treat very bitter. Any recommendations?

      What type of machine are you using? We didn't seem to have an issue with it leaving a residue or affecting the next batch of cotton candy.

      @@spunparadise8823 we are using the vivo. It tastes really good but if you wait more a minute for the next flavor it burned.

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge. We love your videos. :-D What heat do you use on your machine when you don't have the special ribbon? Do you start high and go lower? Or do you have to stay consistently on fairly high heat? Are you willing to share those details with us? Greetings from Norway :-)

      I just had it on the same standard heat I use when making regular cotton candy. Great question!

    Hi Dana , Thank you so much for your videos on the cotton candy business. My wife and I are going to give it a try at farmers market. They seem to be really excited about the organic cotton candy.I have had a Gold Medal machine, that I sold (loved it) we now have a Vivo . Have you had any experience with the Paragon Classic machine, would you recommend? Thanks again for all your video help.

    I just ordered some of their sugar and Cotton Candy! And I’ll go to Costco tomorrow and pick up more organic sugar. Is it difficult to flavor your own sugar? Do you have a video on that process? Thank you for sharing!

    • @spunparadise8823
      @spunparadise8823  3 года назад +1

      Awesome! Let me know how it turns out! Flavoring your own sugar is a process of trial and error. I know a lot of people use flavor oils with success. A lot of people also find it is not worth the time to make their own floss and just end up purchasing pre mixed. Totally depends on the person!

    Hi! I have a question. I use organic fine sugars and love the texture but the cc doesn’t stay put on the cone! It tends to slide down. Any tips for this??

    • @spunparadise8823
      @spunparadise8823  2 года назад +1

      It may be the sugar granule or it may be the ingredients in your sugar, most likely it is the added ingredients.
