  • Pontian Fish Wholesale Market in Johor is no longer cheap and in fact it's overpriced to say the least. You will find the Pontian fish market is selling 2 to 3 times more expensive compared to Geylang Serai Fish Market in Singapore during our last visit in September 2023. Besides, the hygiene is a big red flag in this market if you have been to this place where large flies conquered the fishes as if the fishes are rotten.

8:13 The word "Overpriced" is relative. This fish would be fetching over $20 per lb in any US coastal city.

Appreciate your feedback. We’re merely comparing the fish prices btw Malaysia & Singapore where the latter imports fishes from the former and yet selling cheaper than the exporting country. This somewhat baffles.
