Best car I've ever driven as an all rounder. I've driven faster cars, I've driven more fun to drive cars, I've driven larger cars, I've been in much more expensive cars, but when price comes to shove, this thing is very hard to beat. I do regret not splurging a bit on some niceties like nicer rims (but hub caps are nice since you don't care as much when you scratch them... I'm very careful in this regard, but still), but those nice seats and auto headlights and rain sensing wipers as well as possibly leather seats would make this thing pretty much perfect in my eyes.

The best thing about it is the interior its a nice place to be in has a premium feel and quality for a car thats not that expensive and the seats are amazing for long drives.

I'm amused by all the VW bashers. I'll bet most of them have never even driven one. I often get over 50 MPG on my 2010 Golf TDI. And that's with 2 people and luggage. It's comfortable, quiet and reasonably quick. I'll buy another one when this one wears out in about 20 years.
outbackeddie the trouble is that every car lasts 20 years now. Most people have realised that German engineering is nothing special any more, in fact in some cases it’s the opposite. If they were that good then why the 3 year warranty?
Just get a GTD - the extras you get as standard make it cheaper than adding the extras onto a SE. Although you will get mistaken for a drug dealer all the time.
Yeah VW should of given the SE more extras as standard. My SE is a lovely car but doesn't even have parking sensors. No folding mirrors either. Retrofitting these kinds of things costs a fortune.
They are not the most exciting because in Europe they are everywhere. As a car in it's own right I think it is very attractive with a nice balance for curves and sharp edges.
This is a dream first car for a teen like myself, looks cool but not to flashy for a teen but practical enough to use everyday with picking up friends when going college/uni
Hey, thank you for the video. I am looking for my next car as soon as VW completes the buyback of my Jetta TDI. I've been looking at the Honda Civic due to its reliability and performance, but honestly the VW dealer I get service at is so impressive and enjoyable, I am reluctant to leave them. So the Golf just may be the car that keeps me at my favorite dealer of all time.
