He'll end up in WWE. The headlines are good publicity. Vinny Mac loves that and unlike AEW they don't care about who's friends with who. If he can put butts in seats they will sign him. Assuming he's interested in them.

But would even a one-off like that cause tension between them and AEW. At this point from an in ring perspective, I think the only hope of seeing Punk wrestle full time or even part time again would be him sorting things with WWE. No one was signing him before and he went crazy in AEW cuz it was a taste of what he thought he should’ve been in WWE. He finally got to be the big draw in a company and the top guy and he showed everyone why he shouldn’t be.
That's completely inaccurate, every company would have wanted him but they couldn't afford him and he wouldn't be in anything but a major company like WWE or AEW. Punk never got to be that top guy in AEW because everything that went down, he never even got to have that major run as a top champion of the company because of the tensions backstage, the brawl, and the fact that he was injured for many months. He just returned not that long ago and Collision was supposed to be his show and yet look at what happened. His whole AEW run was a complete mess.
@@rif5556how? He was forced to retire from WWE due to the working conditions the first time and now he was fired from AEW? Forced retirement sounds accurate. So what options does he have? You think hHh wants him back after the way he treated Regal? Also New Japan can’t afford him rn and Impact can but probably wont after hulk Hogan fiasco. At this point a lot of his old fans have turned against him due to his toxic behavior, so besides a few hardcore fans who cares?
@@jackhughes7637 Both things can be true. It can be absolutely fascinating while still being a nightmare. I loved the good times with Punk, but the bad times were a headache.
Nightmare for who? 🤷🏻♂️ Jack Perry? A self-entitled Hollywood brat who doesn’t listen to wrestling veterans. For the Young Bucks? A pair of indie brothers who enjoy filling up AEW with their close personal friends and family, and didn’t appreciate someone with more professional wrestling knowledge coming in and out-performing them in every single way. Or for Colt Cabana? A guy who was getting 5% of TV, if that, before CM Punk was even hired in AEW. And has yet to contribute anything truly important to any of the shows in 3 years. Who was it a nightmare for? Because I, as a fan, personally enjoyed AEW television a hell of a lot more when it involved CM Punk. Or when I could tell Punk had some positive influence on the matches/segments of other young guys who actually DO listen to veterans.
people just want to take advantage of tony khan because he's a nice person in a ruthless cutthroat business even the fans. People say he needs to be a boss but he has by suspending multiple people in the past just not got them together to sort it so it does not build and the fans need to know its his company so it's up to him how he handles it And no one knows 100% what is going on if it was Vince or biscoff they would not fire punk and keep him and make money which is good for business but not if your human and have any morals. Either way tony khan cannot win in the situation because fans say sort it like him firing punk but the others say he should not have. U can be a boss without being cutthroat
If he wanted to be a boss he would fire punk. Fire perry. Demote the elite to just talent, maybe creative. Fine anyone found leaking to dirt sheets. Ban dirt sheets who have false or lazily reported leaks and gossip from press events. If he did those 5 things I think it would show he's a serious person
I don't agree with Dave's take on Punk but it's his opinion and he has a right too it. I love Punk but let's be real, he's the common denominator in all this. I just wish he didn't waste 7 years of his prime away because he was mad at wwe.
Very simple answer : he will go on Jim Cornette podcast, lie like a rug, and trash AEW and the Elite for 2 hours long because that's what his fans wants to hear 🤷♂
@@sandyunderpants4376 he does, because that's what they want to hear. There is no way he comes and say "yeah my bad I fked up" 😂😂😂 But you obviously are another brainwashed sheep who thinks he did nothing wrong
Dave is a hater. And has been preaching the Bucks and Elite agenda for years. Name a wrestling finisher after him, has been one of the smartest business decision those Cucamunga Kids have ever done.
Hilarious to hear everyone happy that Punk got fired when Bret and Shawn had a similar scenario happen, and everyone laughs and applauds Bret for getting his hands on Shawn and tearing his hair out. Hypocrites.
That's because the situations are completely different, just because you think punk is the good guy in the story doesn't mean that's actually the case. Starting a fight with your boss and a coworker because the coworker did a stupid thing that only affected themselves? Like cmon 😂
That was 2 and a half decades ago first and foremost and the climate in today’s wrestling is far different than it was then. Also, if you really want to go down that road when Bret and Shawn had their scrap they were in the locker room and away from production staff and the boss himself. When Punk and Jack got into it they were in Gorilla with a lot of production people and Tony Khan himself present. Punk not only endangered the boss but the production staff as well and was brazen enough to lunge at Tony afterwards. Bret and Shawn at least had the sense to let cooler heads prevail and get back to business, Punk doesn’t have that ability.
New japan would be awesome if he went there but i think the style is too stiff for his body to hold up and they are have a working relationship for aedub so im not exactly sure how that would work
If I'm the Young Bucks and I'm one of the Executive Vice Presidents of my own company, and this guy comes in and gets everything handed to him, but is being so much of a jerk that he has to have his own show, I'm not sitting down and discussing anything with him. That is megalomania at the highest level, and a conversation isn't going to fix anything, because when you talk to a person like that they will not be happy, and will accept nothing less than getting 100% of whatever they want. And the next night Punk would be on e a media scrum talking about how much he hates AEW.
Let's be clear, WWE is the only option for Punk. Impact can't afford him. New Japan has a partnership with AEW, and they're not gonna want to rock that boat. If AEW and Punk ended on good terms, maybe, but with how ugly it all went down, NJPW isn't gonna open that can of worms. So, WWE would have all the leverage. They could lowball Phil because he's not gonna have any other offers. Look at the seven years he was away. He didn't have an indie run. He didn't go to Japan or Mexico. Now, as he turns 45 in October, the options are really limited.
Its also iffy if WWE really wants him. Punk walked out on WWE and took every opportunity he could to shit on them. Plus, the latest blowout he had with AEW does reflect badly on Punk. Endeavor will take that into consideration when discussing whether to hire him or not.
@@xShoTime83x If Punk signs with New Japan, you can come back here and gloat until the cows come home. New Japan didn't even bring him in before AEW even existed when Punk was on his 7-year hiatus. So you all are saying if Punk didn't violate for 6 months, then the Bucks would've worked with him??...Complete BS and I encourage you all to do better than this 😂
The six month thing is bullshit. They may have EVP titles but they're still employees and as such they shouldn't get to choose who they work it. There's far too many bruised egos and self-entitlement on both sides. What should have happened is that they should have all gotten into a room over a year ago and Tony Khan should have laid down the law. They should have aired their grievances and if they end up just not liking each other, so be it. They're still supposed to be professionals though. Throughout all of this, nobody has acted like a professional.
Aew work differently with their talent have input for their creative and could refuse to work if it not to their liking. Miro refuse to wrestle like a year because he didn't like the direction that TK give.

@coldsnap5742Randy Orton is an example of somebody who got into the business very young and eventually matured and mellowed out like most normal people do. That's not the case with Punk as he seems to continuously behave like a grown man-child refusing to take responsibility for his actions. Ultimate Warrior eventually mellowed out but dude was in his 50's by that point. I think Punk needs way more than therapy at this point. He needs a full on intervention.
People diagnosing someone they've never met - extremely gross, especially when it comes from PhD holding Dubbalos. Keep showing everyone else why you are the absolute dirt worst fanbase.
He’ll just be retired, doing indie movies and TV shows and commentating. WWE wouldn’t interest him unless it was select dates, but he’d be better in that management structure than AEW’s EVP committee that would never work.
Meltzer is full of it. Stop it with your constant bias reports. Also, the bucks are full of it. Now, that punk got let go they were “willing to work with punk in time”. Foh. A bunch of jokes. That’s why the company is in the shape it’s in.
He'll go to WWE, if he decides to continue Wrestling. But the bs he pulled in AEW is not going to fly in WWE because Triple H and Vince McMahon aren't pushovers like Tony Khan, so issues with Punk will never get to the point that it will destroy the locker room.
The only wrestling company that will take CM Punk is the Duffy Wrestling League on the TV show Heels. Unless Ricky Rabies can't get along with the DWL locker room too.
I was pretty mad and said some dumb stuff on the board. I guess it’s just how it is, Dave and Bryan are human and have their biases, just like me or Punk, or anyone else. I know it’s not some sort of conspiracy, Dave and Bryan really like the AEW matches the most.
He saw that collision wasn’t doing great and wanted an out hence brawl in. He was projecting that not wanting to come to work thing on Jungle Boy. If he had guts he would try to build something himself and show everyone else that he does know better, for example Impact has AXS money, a decent roster and good creative a big name would make a huge difference there, NWA has been looking to replace Lagana for years and he could own a part of the company and have creative freedom roster control or even MLW has been putting on a fairly good show on a shoe string budget for years, not sure he’s built like that to bet on himself not sure his fragile ego could handle that kinda setback.
There is a pretty big difference between how Cody left AEW and how Punk did. Cody's contract expired and left with no drama. Punk, on the other hand...didn't, to say the least. I suppose it is possible that there is very little cross over between the different fan bases and most WWE fans might not know what happened or that Punk even returned to wrestling 2 years ago.
I recall there were "rumors" about people in the company not liking Cody, but that's just it: they were rumors. The dislike for Punk is proven at this point. To me that says even if some people didn't like Cody, either there weren't many or they weren't so upset that it was beyond question that they were pissed. With Punk, a lot of people are very pissed off to the point it's obvious. So yeah, huge difference.
Why y’all always trashing Dave? If you don’t like him, why do you keep coming back to comment? I don’t like Jim cornette or his opinions, but I don’t trash him everyday online in his comments, I just don’t pay attention to what he has to say. So I guess, why does Dave get under y’all’s skin so bad?

I love the fact Conrad Thompson was told by a high level official to tell everyone that Dave is a liar and it’s had to do with his reporting on this story . Which is what I believed all along on his reporting on this story and no I am not on CM Punk side on this he deserved to get fired . But so did Jack Perry and Tony Khan is at fought here too. Tony should have made both sides sit down and work this out before letting Punk come back . The only one that acted professional in all this was Kenny Omega which I not a fan of him but I have to give him credit and respect here . Because Kenny has large following and he really did act like a EVP here in this situation.
And who exactly was this “high ranking official”? Because if anything, I’ve been told Dave is an AEW stooge, so he should be the one with way more connections and information inside the company. Why should I trust the testimony of a guy who makes his living off primarily people who hate AEW?

My opinion Dave is friends with Young Buck and their friends. Cause Dave has been Uber critical of Tony Khan this last year so I doubt his on payroll. Punk will go where he wants and will always be a draw. He wanted out of that rotten company anyway. He'll probably go on one final run with the big boys before calling it a day. Such a great mind for the business and with his input Collision felt fresh and fun
To think that all of this happened because Adam Page believed a rumor, and it ended with the Bucks doing a victory lap because lies won. I have no sympathy to whatever happens to AEW.
Bro it all started because Hangman said one line in a promo and CM Punks fragile ego couldn't handle it. Punks entire career was shooting on people but if you shoot on him he gets in your face and calls a lawyer.
I’m concerned for the guy. All it’ll take is for the wrong fan to recognize him out and about and heckle him. We know that words make him respond with fists. We know how antagonistic fans can be. He clocks that fan and he’s getting arrested and sued. He might be better off just living off his money for the rest of his life, if he’s invested it well. Just stay home until he learns how to function without assaulting his coworkers.
Any “fan” who sees him, will beg him for a picture or autograph. No matter how much they’ve trashed and buried him on Twitter or the ‘Wrestling Observer’ message boards.
Punk was wrong and I’m not one to blame it all on everybody else like some. But I do see it as problematic if the Bucks had the six month thing before they’d meet with him. Sure I do get it that they’d want to see some behavior change and good faith first. But at the same time why would you leave open drama and scenarios that are likely to cause issues open to meet an arbitrary timeline of good behavior before burying the drama to move forward? In their roles I think they do have a higher duty to go out of their way to quell issues because their interests are the company above their own. So I think that’s an issue but I don’t blame that for what he did. It’s still on him. If he genuinely wanted resolution he would’ve taken those actions with everyone until the Bucks were ready anyways. But he seemed to look for conflicts and did the opposite of seeking peace. But the entire thing just stinks. He seems to need to speak with somebody and I hope he gets any help he needs whether he wrestles again or not. In the end everyone’s a human
Yeah the Young Bucks think they are more mature than they really are. I don't think they realize how belittling it is to Punk. I would also point out that no one knows what really happened in any of these instances. There are those who feel that their was a contingency of wrestlers who worked from the very beginning to get Punk out, and ultimately succeeded. Both sides can make good arguments due to the sparsity of actual facts.
If Punk has been the most prominent topic of conversation for the last year despite being off TV for 10 months out of 12, that doesn't sit well for whatever AEW has done in that time span. Let's face it, without the Punk debacle, there will be nothing interesting going on in AEW that draws attention and that's 100% on Tony Khan inability to create compelling storylines
AEW needs a villain in charge. Wwe has Vince and it helps rally the wrestlers to care and unite with each other. But AEW has wayyyy too many egos at the helm and not ONE specific person to be the bad guy everyone can band against. It sounds like a stupid thing to say but just look at your own lives how your happiest work relationships always had a crappy boss lol
I don't agree with that. Why should anyone want to work with crappy environment with crappy boss. AEW was create to be differentiate from wwe work environment. Talent and work environment are happy during pandemic and all they need is respect among each other and good management communication.
AEW has villains in charge. They are waging a war on actual PROFESSIONAL Wrestling. And will push-back on any premise of it that encroaches on their pure, indie, comedy, principles. And their names are Matt and Nick Jackson.
Lmao I can see it. “Your honor, they said Pepsi tasted terrible and then proceeded to drink Coca-Cola instead, how was I not supposed to feel slighted?”

Phillip Jack Brooks is a phenomenonal professional wrestler and a garbage human being, and it's time that people begin to recognize and acknowledge that inconvenient and unpopular, but irrefutable, fact. On Colt Cabana's podcast, Phil Brooks cited his health as the primary catalyst that led to his walking out on WWE, saying, "...there was one BIG thing that led to my decision and, actually, the big thing that led to my decision was my health." He goes on to mention a misdiagnosed staph infection, saying, "I went to her doctor in Tampa...And he looks right at it, he doesn't touch it, he just looks at it, cocks his head sideways and he goes 'that's a full blown staph infection'.." (Mrosko, 2014). Again, and this point cannot be stressed enough, "Punk claimed Amann misdiagnosed an MRSA infection as a fatty deposit and failed to treat him when he suffered a concussion at the Royal Rumble" (Conway, 2015). The problem is that there was no such infection and no such diagnosis. "Punk acknowledged on the witness stand that *no* physician *ever* diagnosed him with suffering from a MRSA staph infection" [emphasis added](McCann, 2018). Long story short--Phil Brooks *lied.* He didn't leave because of his health; he left because was disgruntled. When Dr. Chris Amann filed his defamation suit against them, Brooks told his "friend" Colt Cabana after appearing on his podcast that he would cover his legal fees in a text message saying, "I’ll make sure you’re 100% covered," signed a retainer along with Cabana with the same legal firm, and signed a contract stating that Cabana would not be paying for the legal fees stemming from Brooks' remarks on podcast...then reneged on his promise to cover the expenses for a situation _that he created,_ leading to Cabana suing _him_ (Bixenspan, 2019). Once again, long story short--Phil Brooks *lied.* Colt Cabana wasn't trying to take advantage of him; he was expecting Brooks to make good on a promise to remedy a situation _that he created._ Brooks may very well have an e-mail from Cabana agreeing to go their separate ways and that they would each pay their own separate legal expenses, but that came _after_ Brooks dragged Cabana's mother into the discussion (which wasn't relevant to the original agreement). And, once again, it's worth pointing out that Dr. Amann didn't lose his defamation case because what Brooks claimed was true...No, he lost his case because he couldn't demonstrate any damages caused Brooks' _lies._ Fast forward to the incident with the AEW EVPs. During the media scrum, Brooks challenged anyone who had an issue with him to come to his locker room and talk to him face-to-face, saying, "...if you've got a problem with me, take it up with me," and he also said, "My locker room is never closed. It’s always open. Anybody who wants to DM [the Wrestling Observer’s Dave] Meltzer some bulls--- can come talk to me about it. It’s not macho, stupid bulls---. I’m an adult. Come talk with me" (Barrasso, 2022). Yet, when the the EVPs did just that, all hell broke loose; and lest it be said that they came in aggressively, it should be mentioned how unlikely that is considering that they had the heads of legal and talent relations _with them_ at the time (Davis, 2022) So, when Brooks and his friend Ace Steel claimed that the EVPs had "kicked the door down," once again, Phil Brooks *lied.* Fast forward to the altercation with William Regal, where he apparently refused to shake his hand, got into _his_ face, said he didn't like or trust him, and made a comment about him being one of Triple H's "stooges," (Lee, 2023). Fast forward to the altercation with Ryan Nemeth (Ravens, 2023). Fast forward to the most recent issue with Jack Perry. If it were a single, isolated incident, with a particular individual, one could easily dismiss it. That's not case here, and as Brooks is a proven liar, we cannot trust his version of events or the version related by his friends. Because he clearly cannot be trusted, I have my doubts regarding his version of events leading up his termination with WWE. _Did_ he get his termination on the day of his wedding? _Did_ Triple H know that was the day of his wedding? If he did know, _was_ the timing intentional? I don't know. However, I have reason to doubt anything Brooks says. And, given that he no-showed Raw on January 27, 2014 and was married June 14 of that year--almost 5 months later--I certainly don't feel any sympathy for him regardless. You were hired to do a job, walked away, lied about your reasoning, and got fired. You *deserved* to be fired after refusing to return anyone's calls (Herbert, 2014). As I said before, when drama seems to always accompany you, maybe, just maybe, _you_ are the problem. Add to this incidents like him telling people on Twitter to "drink bleach" or "kill yourself," regardless of rationale, and yelling homophobic slurs at fans (Gray, 2018), making inappropriate and homophobic comments to fellow wrestlers (Coulson, 2020), and just being a jerk to fans in general (Pena, 2013), and I can't fathom why anyone continues to defend him. He finally got to be the big draw in a company and the top guy and he showed everyone why he shouldn’t be.
Tbh no one could afford to sign Punk before AEW ROH couldn’t afford him same with impact

If you were an executive vice president you wouldn't behave the way the Bucks did from the very start.
He’s not athletic enough to make it in Japan. Can’t even do a buckshot lariat without falling on his ass ffs
Its also iffy if WWE really wants him. Punk walked out on WWE and took every opportunity he could to shit on them. Plus, the latest blowout he had with AEW does reflect badly on Punk. Endeavor will take that into consideration when discussing whether to hire him or not.
It's funny you think New Japan wouldn't want to rock the boat with AEW when it's the other way around. AEW needs that partnership with New Japan more.

But at the same time why would you leave open drama and scenarios that are likely to cause issues open to meet an arbitrary timeline of good behavior before burying the drama to move forward?
Amann didn't lose his defamation case because what Brooks claimed was true...No, he lost his case because he couldn't demonstrate any damages caused Brooks' _lies._
Fast forward to the incident with the AEW EVPs. Yet, when the the EVPs did just that, all hell broke loose; and lest it be said that they came in aggressively, it should be mentioned how unlikely that is considering that they had the heads of legal and talent relations _with them_ at the time (Davis, 2022) So, when Brooks and his friend Ace Steel claimed that the EVPs had "kicked the door down," once again, Phil Brooks *lied.*
Fast forward to the altercation with William Regal, where he apparently refused to shake his hand, got into _his_ face, said he didn't like or trust him, and made a comment about him being one of Triple H's "stooges," (Lee, 2023).
Phil Brooks needs to go home and stay there.
