After 10,000 wireless projects we’ve just about seen and heard it all.
And we're often asked how to place antennas for wireless microphones and in-ear monitors!
During this 30 minute training we’ll discuss practical steps on how to improve the reliability of your wireless microphones and in-ear monitors through better antenna selection and placement.
We’ll discuss how to minimize the interaction between the two systems and common placement mistakes and their impact on dropouts.
As a result, you'll place the antennas properly the first time - while minimizing time and effort - as well as dropouts!
Lots of information on this video, thank you guys.
Wow, One of the best, if not the best video I have found about antennas. A lot of things like polar pattern and antenna placement were explained clearly in an easy to understand way.
what a class!
thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!
Thanks Much ,is very good for me to learn about Antenna seating . for the in ear Mon, can i use two antennas. I have a Shure PSM600 System.
Thank you so much sir for your packaged information.
Thank You for shareing such valuable information!
Thanks for this Very helpful guide! Any chance that the Performance Calculator could have MiPro equipment added?
wow this is amazingly helpull thanks so much
Yes my auditorium is next to the x-ray Emporium, they have been "delivering 100% illegal x-ray machines for the last 200 years, call us to get rid of your cavities today". LOL I'm just starting to imagine this and build up the story.
Don, this is much appreciated!
Do you think that using N-type connectors are better for shielding and leakage over BNC? And if so, is it worth the extra cost?
Hey Ansen, I would recommend you email this question to Don - don@rfvenue.com his answer may surprise you on topics like this!
The RF part of both types are actually the same. You can plug a N male connector onto a BNC female! Of course it would not be secure.
In a theater stage setting, would it be alright to put the antennas/wireless receiver at the side of the stage?
Yes, and in fact, in most cases with stage wireless setups, its the best suggestion! Aiming the Diversity Fin and CP Beam antennas from the stage wings across the stage, is a "standard operating procedure" with our customers :) Just don't aim your transmit antenna at your receive antenna and keep them at least 6FT apart.
Hello Don!
Having problems with in ear monitors pm1000. Signal seems ok but getting static. I scanned with work bench and freq’s were assigned. Using a single passive paddle to run a 10 unit rack.
Hey Scott, we believe the best antenna for IEM is a circularly polarized or helical antenna, like our CP Beam antenna. We don't think a paddle antenna works very well with in-ears. And with 10 transmitters, what type of combiner units are you using? We really suggest for maintaining reliability to limit each CP Beam antenna to 8 transmitters, otherwise IMD skyrockets.
