I read a report a while in which many companies from India like Tata Mahindra TCS went to setup their companies in South Korea the government did not put any restrictions on companies but later there was no sale because of the national pride among the citizens they never use products out of their country, and here we Indians will pay any amount to but foreign goods. We don't make goods to full fill our requirements, in india specially Indian companies sales their products on high profit margin and also they don't works on user experience, they actually don't research on it and don't upgrade their products, that's why Indians are depends on other countries for full fill their needs

True words....I used to be a die-hard kpop and kdrama stan till a year ago when I became aware of the extreme racism, beauty culture and the extreme bullying culture of South Korea. Like most k-pop or kdrama fans I was also intrigued by the craze going around K-pop,Kdrama and Korean culture so out of curiosity I started listening to Korean songs, started to like them and eventually I became a K-pop fan. Over time, I started getting obsessed with South Korea and K-culture; I continously bought K-pop merchandises, watched K-culture related shorts & videos from day to night, thought and talked about K-pop from day to night, I had similar friends, who, too were obsessed with K-culture, and, I conclusively had no world outside K-culture. My room was full of BTS,Twice & Blackpink posters, my diary was full of k-pop groups' fanchants and pictures of k-pop idols and I think it is the same for a average k-culture fan as it was the same for all my friends. Gradually, when I was exploring and discovering the world of K-pop & K-drama, dreaming of living in the seemingly picture-perfect South Korea, I came to know about the dark side of K-culture,bit by bit. I started watching K-dramas and was shocked by the extreme bullying and inferiority complex shown in them. In all of the k-dramas I saw related to bullying, the bullied victims have gone into depression and have even tried to commit suicide in the series. After researching about this matter, I came to know that there are actually people in South Korea who have been bullied to such an extent that they have suffered depression, become over-concious about their looks and later, tried to commit suicide. Some K-pop agencies have made their trainees starve and eat nothing but ice for 5-7 days, just because the agencies thought that they were overweight. Non-Korean idols have to often apologize for speaking in their own language in front of fans/Raising their own country's flag/Praising their country or any other action that makes it look like they like their own home country more than South Korea. After discovering more about this dark side of K-culture, I talked about it with my mother and cousin(who was also a die-hard kpop stan at that time)as I was really shocked that this level of racism and beauty culture can exist in any country. After some time, I started losing the admiration, awe and love I had for SK and K-culture in the beginning and I stopped stanning K-pop groups and being obsessed with K-culture. This is just my experience and my opinion on this matter. No hate meant to any K-culture star or any K-culture fan. I truly respect all K-pop and K-drama stars ❤ I am sorry if I offended any fan 🙏
well, you saved yourself. One of my college friends went there and got a job. And after about a year or so, somehow we were chatting and then i called her and we talked a lot that day and mid-convo she started bawling her eyes out, like really hard crying. She was good looking by indian standards (like brown skin but beautiful). She was like Arush (changed) yrr my life seems like a hell, i feel like a stranger here, even my friends here seem like monsters, this one day i saw one of them speaking about me like i am a filth and i was with this girl since the day i first arrived, guys approach me with wrong intentions............... I should not have come here, i can't even tell Papa, he told me not to come but i came still and now i can't tell them. I cannot even come back because the contract was 2 year long and breach will need penalty and I don't have money to break it. She called me a few more time and the last time she called she did not speak much and i got really worried and paid for her contract breach and told her to pay me back when she earns it back here. She came back and i went to pick her up and she cried and in the car. Then, she joined a job and paid me back. But i will tell she was not the same, she seemed depressed for a long time and it took her some time to back again. And got to know she was considering some serious decisions (s**cide). Thank god i acted when i did.
No, you didn't hurt anyone, your experience is an eye opener to many blindly following kpop and kdrama fans who just love SK Culture and forget everything. I'm also a Kpop fan but trust me I'm not an obsessed one, I lose my interest in K-Dramas a long time ago but a few K-Dramas are still there that I watch, my brother lives in SK with his family from last 3 years and he and his family had never experienced any racism there, because when my sister-in-law had came back to India, I asked to her experience living in Korea and she said people are good there, and I was like really, but many people say that racism is very high there, so she said racism is high but I haven't faced any of these and nowadays people are really out of this mindset in many places, she lives in Busan as my brother work there as a software engineer in a company. So, I guess not all but almost all people has faced racism, so it's better to not get obsessed over anyone too much and if you ask me, then rather to trust on any random person whom I don't know, I will go and experience myself that is these things are still there, or some changes has been done just like my sister-in-law said. This is so true...my cousin's daughter aged 16 was into kpop thing which was fine till she admired them or maybe inspired by them but then she started to avoid eating and suddenly she was not happy with her looks specially skin tone and shape of her eyes...when we tried to understand her problem she started fighting, crying and screaming at her parents for simply being her parents, as according to her she could have been a better looking girl if she was born to someone else..this was so shocking and sudden because she used to love her parents..she used to play all sorts of outdoor sports but stopped as she would get TANNED...can you just believe it an outgoing girl now sits and apply various face masks to get white skin tone...infact all day she used to watch bts moments...fanfics(adult ones)and stuffs! Even her grades went drastically down. Finally got her to child psychologist..took her phone away..made her spend time with us and gave her a reality check that liking/admiring someone is fine but kpop artist are simply earning for their future and family...even if you die it won't stop anything in their lives..they can say that they love you heartly but thats not true practically...so please youth need to focus on themselves❤ see them as entertainment but not centre of your lives.

I am not a k-pop fan nor a BTS army but I know about BTS because many of my friends are an ARMY. What I observed why people love BTS so much is because they are very real. They have shared about their struggles when they were trainee. They shared about their mental health issues. BTS considered their fans as their own family. They talk about the issues through their songs which nobody is else is ready to talk about. That 's why they are so loved in India too. And every k-pop fan know about the real South Korea and how hard the k-pop industry is .

Korea was my dream county i used to love watching k-drama and k-pop it all started with me finding out about BTS i don't hate these k-pop idols or k-drama actors or something but as i was so obsessed with korea at some point i actually started dreaming of living there when i grow up after watching some indian vlogers vedios that live in korea. As i was so obsessed over korea and korean culture i started searching more about korea and their culture and everything i also started following many korean youtubers that make vedios in english and are from korea and that's when i actually realized how korea was not as glory as i thought it was, i watch crime documentary and at this point i have seen more than 100 of cases where korean men had harassed women and didn't even got a better punishment, crime rate in korea and how the government handels it is crazy to me tbh. Also i feel like korea isn't even that safe as you guys may think it is, all those korean celebrities you see online can be totally opposite off camera. I have seen some cases where super popular k-pop band member was litterly accused of clicking inappropriate photos of women and talking horrible things about women sexualizing them in a group chat. Also celebrities getting accused of drugs usage is i think very common now, also mamy k-pop trainees (not only about female but also mens ) face sexual harassment by their company, it is acually quit common. Yeah, I totally agree with you and i think we share the same thought about Korea cause there was a time when I started watching some k-dramas and i was so fascinated with all of that, and also thought of visiting korea someday, I wasn't obsessed but still. I started watching some documentary about korea too and i got to know that that korea isn't the same as they show in k dramas it is totally different. I also realised that k drama is just a escape to reality and irl it doesn't work out like that. There are so many peope in India who are obsessed with k poop, dramas and specially bts and they just don't want to visit korea but actually they want to settle there without knowing the reality of korea. They really don't know that korea follows a really dark culture that indian people can't even relate (bullying, sexual harrasment, racism, if you don't have a good face and figures you can't even get a job) and it is pretty normal in Korea. This video gave me a new perspective of thinking and definitely its true that we see alot of racism in Korea. But being a BTS fan (army) from 8 yrs i can say that i never liked them because of there looks but because they were passionate and very hardworking and had suffered alot in their past. Unlike people who like them on their looks or want to like them because they are trending. The points you said are right and i agree that these days they are overrated and are liked by their looks not by their work.
Agree BTS is an anomaly in k-pop and I like them because of their music and their message. They saved my life and got me out of depression for which I'll be forever grateful. Just because I like BTS doesn't mean I'm unaware of the social issues and reality of the world.

Honestly kpop and korean beauty standards affected me so much because all i was watching on RUclips was koreans, kpop, everything and somehow I started to think myself ugly. i started to eat less and started doing heavy workouts but thank god after 2 years of struggling i recovered...
,sorry if it's bothering you, but I wanna share too, after watching K-pop, I started to think myself more prettier and learned more love myself, it was not because of beauty standards but because of the way they presented themselves, like the quirky and weirdness, you will see being unique and weird is okay, every time I end up doing something different in public I just laugh with others on myself and it ends only at that time, not goes over my mind all day. there are the indian beauty standards too but getting into it can also cause insecureness so like yourself as you are have a good day✌😇

I totally agree with the point that you mentioned here. South Korea has a beauty standard and many foreigners feel insecure about that too, how everytime they get judged and all. Every country has good things and bad things in it and we can't deny that being in India itself East Indians have to face racism too. Your point is valid that how extreme this goes in south korea. Now me personally would like to highlight a point is that there are youngsters and fans who wishes to go to Korea and get settled there or smthng but it's all just that they're too young to understand the fact how it's all on screen and nothing like this happens in reality. When we state we get crushes and we want to visit that place , I would say it happens with everyone if you're a fan of some western artist you would want to visit their place and also you get an emotional connection with the artist cuz of your personal reasons . I am a BTS fan and I watch K-drama from time to time. And I pity those immature people who want to move to any country just by watching their drama or pop culture. That's plain idiotic. People who move to other (more developed ) nation for better financial situations have to agree with the second class citizen behaviour that you will get. And it is the same for India as well, I have had the opportunity to meet a bunch of African people living in India who has had to face terrible racism in India. So don't be blind just because you are Indian. Racism exists everywhere in the World. So if you ever decide to move out of India be informed that you might not be treated the same. Yes I do understand what you are trying to say & what you said in this video may be right. I have been an ARMY since 2 years & I know that beauty looks etc matter there. Especially for the girls like that skinny look is just so bad. Not only the girls but many a times the boys too... I do visit Korea once , its mostly happen in big cities, where mostly people r rich , but in small towns & villages the story is completely different .south korean people in villages r one of nice people in world .

My sisters are also BTS fans but not me. Earlier they used to force me to watch their videos and I just used to agree even if I didn't like it. Last year I came to know about this notice of Indian and Pakistani men not allowed in South Korean clubs. Since then I not only refuse to watch their videos but also have become vocal about these issues and creating awareness in my circle.

I read a report a while in which many companies from India like Tata Mahindra TCS went to setup their companies in South Korea the government did not put any restrictions on companies but later there was no sale because of the national pride among the citizens they never use products out of their country, and here we Indians will pay any amount to but foreign goods. No hate but we need to promote and follow Made in India ❤
We don't make goods to full fill our requirements, in india specially Indian companies sales their products on high profit margin and also they don't works on user experience, they actually don't research on it and don't upgrade their products, that's why Indians are depends on other countries for full fill their needs

True words....I used to be a die-hard kpop and kdrama stan till a year ago when I became aware of the extreme racism, beauty culture and the extreme bullying culture of South Korea. Like most k-pop or kdrama fans I was also intrigued by the craze going around K-pop,Kdrama and Korean culture so out of curiosity I started listening to Korean songs, started to like them and eventually I became a K-pop fan. Over time, I started getting obsessed with South Korea and K-culture; I continously bought K-pop merchandises, watched K-culture related shorts & videos from day to night, thought and talked about K-pop from day to night, I had similar friends, who, too were obsessed with K-culture, and, I conclusively had no world outside K-culture. My room was full of BTS,Twice & Blackpink posters, my diary was full of k-pop groups' fanchants and pictures of k-pop idols and I think it is the same for a average k-culture fan as it was the same for all my friends. Gradually, when I was exploring and discovering the world of K-pop & K-drama, dreaming of living in the seemingly picture-perfect South Korea, I came to know about the dark side of K-culture,bit by bit. I started watching K-dramas and was shocked by the extreme bullying and inferiority complex shown in them. In all of the k-dramas I saw related to bullying, the bullied victims have gone into depression and have even tried to commit suicide in the series. After researching about this matter, I came to know that there are actually people in South Korea who have been bullied to such an extent that they have suffered depression, become over-concious about their looks and later, tried to commit suicide. Some K-pop agencies have made their trainees starve and eat nothing but ice for 5-7 days, just because the agencies thought that they were overweight. Non-Korean idols have to often apologize for speaking in their own language in front of fans/Raising their own country's flag/Praising their country or any other action that makes it look like they like their own home country more than South Korea. After discovering more about this dark side of K-culture, I talked about it with my mother and cousin(who was also a die-hard kpop stan at that time)as I was really shocked that this level of racism and beauty culture can exist in any country. After some time, I started losing the admiration, awe and love I had for SK and K-culture in the beginning and I stopped stanning K-pop groups and being obsessed with K-culture.
This is just my experience and my opinion on this matter.

well, you saved yourself. One of my college friends went there and got a job. And after about a year or so, somehow we were chatting and then i called her and we talked a lot that day and mid-convo she started bawling her eyes out, like really hard crying. She was good looking by indian standards (like brown skin but beautiful). She was like Arush (changed) yrr my life seems like a hell, i feel like a stranger here, even my friends here seem like monsters, this one day i saw one of them speaking about me like i am a filth and i was with this girl since the day i first arrived, guys approach me with wrong intentions............... I should not have come here, i can't even tell Papa, he told me not to come but i came still and now i can't tell them. I cannot even come back because the contract was 2 year long and breach will need penalty and I don't have money to break it.
She called me a few more time and the last time she called she did not speak much and i got really worried and paid for her contract breach and told her to pay me back when she earns it back here. She came back and i went to pick her up and she cried and in the car. Then, she joined a job and paid me back. But i will tell she was not the same, she seemed depressed for a long time and it took her some time to back again. And got to know she was considering some serious decisions (s**cide). Thank god i acted when i did.

No, you didn't hurt anyone, your experience is an eye opener to many blindly following kpop and kdrama fans who just love SK Culture and forget everything. I'm also a Kpop fan but trust me I'm not an obsessed one, I lose my interest in K-Dramas a long time ago but a few K-Dramas are still there that I watch, my brother lives in SK with his family from last 3 years and he and his family had never experienced any racism there, because when my sister-in-law had came back to India, I asked to her experience living in Korea and she said people are good there, and I was like really, but many people say that racism is very high there, so she said racism is high but I haven't faced any of these and nowadays people are really out of this mindset in many places, she lives in Busan as my brother work there as a software engineer in a company. So, I guess not all but almost all people has faced racism, so it's better to not get obsessed over anyone too much and if you ask me, then rather to trust on any random person whom I don't know, I will go and experience myself that is these things are still there, or some changes has been done just like my sister-in-law said.

This is so true...my cousin's daughter aged 16 was into kpop thing which was fine till she admired them or maybe inspired by them but then she started to avoid eating and suddenly she was not happy with her looks specially skin tone and shape of her eyes...when we tried to understand her problem she started fighting, crying and screaming at her parents for simply being her parents, as according to her she could have been a better looking girl if she was born to someone else..this was so shocking and sudden because she used to love her parents..she used to play all sorts of outdoor sports but stopped as she would get TANNED...can you just believe it an outgoing girl now sits and apply various face masks to get white skin tone...infact all day she used to watch bts moments...fanfics(adult ones)and stuffs! Even her grades went drastically down.
Finally got her to child psychologist..took her phone away..made her spend time with us and gave her a reality check that liking/admiring someone is fine but kpop artist are simply earning for their future and family...even if you die it won't stop anything in their lives..they can say that they love you heartly but thats not true practically...so please youth need to focus on themselves❤ see them as entertainment but not centre of your lives.

I am not a k-pop fan nor a BTS army but I know about BTS because many of my friends are an ARMY. What I observed why people love BTS so much is because they are very real. They have shared about their struggles when they were trainee. They shared about their mental health issues. BTS considered their fans as their own family. I 100% agree with his words 🤌. Korea was my dream county i used to love watching k-drama and k-pop it all started with me finding out about BTS i don't hate these k-pop idols or k-drama actors or something but as i was so obsessed with korea at some point i actually started dreaming of living there when i grow up after watching some indian vlogers vedios that live in korea. As i was so obsessed over korea and korean culture i started searching more about korea and their culture and everything i also started following many korean youtubers that make vedios in english and are from korea and that's when i actually realized how korea was not as glory as i thought it was, i watch crime documentary and at this point i have seen more than 100 of cases where korean men had harassed women and didn't even got a better punishment, crime rate in korea and how the government handels it is crazy to me tbh. Also i feel like korea isn't even that safe as you guys may think it is, all those korean celebrities you see online can be totally opposite off camera. I have seen some cases where super popular k-pop band member was litterly accused of clicking inappropriate photos of women and talking horrible things about women sexualizing them in a group chat. Also celebrities getting accused of drugs usage is i think very common now, also mamy k-pop trainees (not only about female but also mens ) face sexual harassment by their company, it is acually quit common. So, apart from racism there's so many more reasons to not look at korea as a glory country.

Yeah, I totally agree with you and i think we share the same thought about Korea cause there was a time when I started watching some k-dramas and i was so fascinated with all of that, and also thought of visiting korea someday, I wasn't obsessed but still. I started watching some documentary about korea too and i got to know that that korea isn't the same as they show in k dramas it is totally different. I also realised that k drama is just a escape to reality and irl it doesn't work out like that. There are so many peope in India who are obsessed with k poop, dramas and specially bts and they just don't want to visit korea but actually they want to settle there without knowing the reality of korea. They really don't know that korea follows a really dark culture that indian people can't even relate (bullying, sexual harrasment, racism, if you don't have a good face and figures you can't even get a job) and it is pretty normal in Korea. So it is not easy to survive in Korea as a foreigner and especially if you are an India, you gonna experience a hell lot of tough time cause they show so much racism toward India( they consider us as uneducated, as a untouchable person in many places like metro, malls etc and also as people with muddy skin colour and many more) but I'm sure that ones who are really obsessed with BTS is not gonna consider these things and they will keep dreaming about settling in korea and marryy a so called BTS member.

Also many people want to settle there and they keep on praising everything about it , because of dramas or kpop..I think it's not at all appreciatable . I totally agree with the point that you mentioned here. South Korea has a beauty standard and many foreigners feel insecure about that too, how everytime they get judged and all. Every country has good things and bad things in it and we can't deny that being in India itself East Indians have to face racism too. Your point is valid that how extreme this goes in south korea. Now me personally would like to highlight a point is that there are youngsters and fans who wishes to go to Korea and get settled there or smthng but it's all just that they're too young to understand the fact how it's all on screen and nothing like this happens in reality. When we state we get crushes and we want to visit that place , I would say it happens with everyone if you're a fan of some western artist you would want to visit their place and also you get an emotional connection with the artist cuz of your personal reasons . Some like them by looks some by voice some by songs it's all upto them. Similarly if u talk of k-pop or kdrama same thing happens. Only thing is they're eastern artists, did smthng like this ever happened? All we heard was western or Bollywood. Ig we all would have had on screen crushes like how natural it is. I agree to the very last with the video but when we talk of BTS (ofc the antis would have made a face now) they along with their fans have donated alot of money for BLM , children , and so much more. We Stan them not cuz of the looks but how meaningful their songs are. I am a BTS fan and I watch K-drama from time to time. And I pity those immature people who want to move to any country just by watching their drama or pop culture. That's plain idiotic.
People who move to other (more developed ) nation for better financial situations have to agree with the second class citizen behaviour that you will get. And it is the same for India as well, I have had the opportunity to meet a bunch of African people living in India who has had to face terrible racism in India. So don't be blind just because you are Indian. Racism exists everywhere in the World. So if you ever decide to move out of India be informed that you might not be treated the same.

I do visit Korea once , its mostly happen in big cities, where mostly people r rich , but in small towns & villages the story is completely different .south korean people in villages r one of nice people in world .

It's our duty to tell them right thing about india or its about time when india will get richer they will respect us. But my problem is with their beauty standards which is very toxic and their kpop industry. If indian teenager follows them they will learn toxicity. In india plastic surgery is not normal so nobody is so obsessed with beauty but by following korean culture they will learn those this things. I personally think racism is nothing related to specific culture like you mentioned for South Korea as being an Indian I am facing racism in my own country for my skin colour,religion and caste system from school days till now.More people came to know about it when such incidents happened with them.. My sisters are also BTS fans but not me. Earlier they used to force me to watch their videos and I just used to agree even if I didn't like it. Last year I came to know about this notice of Indian and Pakistani men not allowed in South Korean clubs.
