Does the face detection work in 4k ? Because I had it working for a bit but i don’t know what I did like it stopped working then I switched to 1080 it popped again. Am I missing something ?
Really helpful test, appreciate you doing the work, there aren't really any videos like this. I'm curious if you've tried any of the lenses specifically for APS-C sensors? These were all for full frames I believe (minus the canon) and I'm thinking they might work better. The kit 18-105 is a crop sensor lens too.
Yak Almighty i’ll stay posted. I have some aps-c lenses that Im hoping will work. Unfortunately Sony doesnt have as much variety in their crop lenses as their FE line.
If your scene was under exposed, perhaps you can redo the test with a greater exposure to see if the contrast base system works better then. I know I’ve heard it’s pretty common in low light that even Canon cameras dual pixel hunts
@@YakAlmighty Right on! I own 2 Sony Fs5 and one them have the Metabones Speedbooster Cine and for some reason w/o Face Detection AF is pretty fast. The other one has the MC-11 and I hate it. AF sucks balls! I'm thinking of getting another MC-11 or even go A-mount cause it's cheaper than the E-mount lens. I'm still experimenting. Let me know how it goes with you man. @@cinema-q I've tried their 35mm 2.8 OSS lens and AF was pretty good. I might buy it again and get the 50mm 1.8 OSS along with it.

Have you tried taking off Face Detection and see if AF works better?
Idk but interesting question, I'll try to shoot a video tomorrow comparing both.

@@jmsdfilms you were right! The auto focus is a lot better with the face detect off. The video is up on it now!
