The story of Danaby2's maps seems non existent, but that is opposite from the truth. The lore of his maps is complex and interwoven in subtle ways. I'm going to explain the lore of his arena maps in this video.

Honestly if Nelson just put Danaby in charge of map and game design while he made sure he didn't go too wild, Unturned would be an objectively better game.
Take Polaris as a prime example of fixing a number of issues with Unturned's core game design, namely the ability to compress the most common materials, cloth and scrap, into condensed forms for more efficient looting.
That immediately solves a core problem with Unturned's crafting system, since the list format is just plain bad.
Safezones with teleporters and fast-travel sewers are a godsend for navigation and consistency. The safezone gives you a solid chance to actually build up some momentum, and the sewers are basically the perfect way to do quick loot runs across the whole map.
Literally my only complaint is the size. If Polaris was a large map, then it'd have so much more room for bases that won't immediately get found and raided, and make the fast travel options feel a wee bit more justified.
