I imagine a majestic man, standing on a wind swept steppe, surveying his land and life. you can hear in the whistle the melody of the song. its beyond amazing. takes you back to ancient times with the drone in his voice.
It is so beautiful when he does this...that whistle you can hear with it...it's like it's from another world...I love this song the best when this guy performs it.
I was at this performance. I can tell you that there's no more amazing sound than this coming out of 2 15-foot tall PA speaker rigs rolling up a hill at you in the middle of the great outdoors. There's nothing else like it in all the world.
I've seen so many videos now of Huun Huur Tu...and everytime this guy in particular performs this song...it gives me such overwhelming goosebumps...this guy in particular is very very amazing.
Hi, thank you giving yr comment about the Huun-Huur-Tu video. They might do some European shows in October as the only concerts this year. A crowdfunding campaign July started now for a book about TUVA which will include a live CD of the group. And they are amazing THANK YOUs as well. You can find all infos here: www.jaro.de/crowdfundingtuva Join the campaign and donate for the book, thanks
I saw Huun-Huur Tu about 10 years ago at Duke. It was the most amazing thing to see in person. I their CD "60 Horses In My Herd" there and my boys (6 and 9 yrs at the time) loved it and they still do. I wish they would come around here...
I have been throat singing for over six months now and it is an incredible to produce these sounds. Everyone can do it, it's just being dedicated to making sounds that at first may seem strange. I'm not as good as the man in this video. He has years of experience behind creating these sounds. Fortunately, I'm only 18 and hope to continue to make them. Being as good as him is simply being dedicated to make funny sounds with your throat. It's beautifully and it's make me smile when I do it.
Bisou à tous mes ami(e)s du Chant Diphonique de Paris.Un spécial pour Cyprien. Merci à toi de nous inonder de ces sons magiques et de nous les apprendre.
I have the nice chance to get acces inside the 'artists room' of Hun Huur Tu in a concert to get their sign and give congrats them... And I could say that their reception to me ('nobody') was full of humility, peace, and in bro vibrations that since then my respect is thousand times increased to their persons, art and live being... Sincerly
Your music is so incredibly comforting. I love how it relates to your country and to your culture. As I listen to your music my mind clears and I find myself in relaxed consciousness where thoughts transcend reality. I close my eyes and allow my mind to flow into your music and your music into my soul. Thank you, thank you so much for this wonderful music. In this hectic world you are a garden of peace.
Brilliant! I once heard a live performance of some Inuit ladies (Eskimo) singing in their throat style, a little different to this, but also quite similar. They used it originally to communicate across miles of ice and snow, the sound waves they made travelled vast distances. Love the whistle effect in the background that the singer makes, so haunting!
When he reaches the highest note in the octave I get chills. This sound is completely organic and sounds like mother earth herself is chanting her Majesty for all to hear.

I get almost hypnotised and frozen by this beautiful singing, it is beautiful the way it allows the mind to be carried away...if you allow it.
It maybe just me, but I find this peaceful.

I've read about this art, and they sing about 3-4 notes at once... notice how long he can go without catching a breath.... this is amazing...
Oh, I love this! So soothing and calming! A rare and unique talent!
Very ethereal and beautiful. Very mesmerizing... like tuning into vibrational tones of the earth.

I listen to this song two or three times daily. Wonderfully done.
Absolutely amazing, totally awesome!! Respect.
The progression on how we can utilize the voice is outstanding. Throat singing has moved into oure physical interpretation of music and melody.
Khoomei/Throat Singing in general has always had the most entrancing sound.
Thanks for sharing!

@IoannP No nose. The base tone is made with the throat and then the overtones are produced and modulated with the mouth cavity and tongue.
