I'm renting a Seltos right now its a 2021. and its very nice honestly. i didnt expect it to be as big on the inside and as good on gas as it is. I enjoy it.
Thanks for reviewing the successor to my current vehicle, a 2021 model. Glad they didn’t do any crazy changes with the refresh so that my current car still feels up to date. Aside from the newer gen engine update, they also changed the transmission to a true automatic torque converter from the DCT in my model, which is really the worst thing about my car. I’m glad they ditched it.
That “quiet mode” feature is an old feature that many car audio systems have today. They might not even label them on other vehicles but the intended effect is the same. For example on my 2018 Lincoln MKC, you can go in the audio settings and change it to driver only or everyone. It’s a cool feature if someone is sleeping in the vehicle on a long road trip and you don’t want to bother them while listening to the radio. Lots of other manufacturers have that feature buried under the audio settings, they just don’t highlight it upfront. By the way I love your reviews and your channel.
@Xavier Robinson I just like it better. Style, handling, 2.5 Turbo available with a possible 250hp/320 lb ft torque depending on fuel octane. Much nicer interior also. Proven engine and transmission. Not that the Seltos is a bad vehicle.
The lineup goes like this Kia Soul Compact Crossover SUV/Hatchback Seltos is just a Crossover SUV and then the Sportage is a Midsized SUV the Sorento is a Midsized SUV with 7 Passenger Seating and the Telluride the Fullsize SUV and well thats it for SUVs
It seemed to me that total leg room is pretty generous, as I've never seen one of your reviews before and don't know your height, but I'm thinking over 6 feet, or with disproportionately long legs! 😄
With all due respect Zack, the Kia Seltos no longer gets a dct, 7spd or 8spd. Might want to check that again. Good to know that 8spd auto shifts quick though. The newly revised Kona also gets the same powertrain changes fyi.
@Brian Lee they still gotta work on their reliability a good bit though, but as long as one keeps an eye on the oil, coolant and gaskets with these things I’m sure there should be no problems
I Have The Same Variant In India As Engine Being 1.5NA But I'm Thinking To Raise Suspension Height By 1 to 1.5 Inch How do you think It's gonna look, Please Help Me
The sounds of nature feature is so bizarre. I can't imagine why anyone would need that in a car. Perhaps it would be useful in a limo picking up high rockstars getting them to come down from their trip lol
Kia/Hyundai sell 6 vehicles in one segment Kia Rio Hyundai Accent Kia Soul Hyundai Kona Kia Seltos Hyundai Venue All ride on the Accent/Rio platform taco bell and Lee Iacoca would be proud
They really botched the front end of the Seltos with the refresh. It’s way too busy, and the lighting/DRLs are quite a mess. It looks like a UFO at night and not in a good way. The light bar in the back is also too fragmented. It looks rather cool in videos, but seeing it in person tells another story. The former version was much more cohesive with the design of the rest of the vehicle and looked more upscale/refined. KIA tried way too hard on this one for no reason. The interior is where the refresh was definitely a success, so well done there. I leased a 2021 Seltos SX in Neptune blue and it was striking. It saddens me to see the new ones on the road looking as they do now.

A really nice-looking vehicle for 2024. If I was looking for a car in that class, I would sure drive one. Thanks for the great review!
The Seltos isn't Kia's direct competitor to the CX5, the Sportage is. I would much rather have the CX-30.
Why?

I love the Sounds of Nature feature with KIA!!!!
How quiet is the cabin when on the highway?? As quiet as the 2023 Sportage??
Love it but wish they would include a panoramic roof option.
Experience the universe sure is pretty cool haha!
I don't see where this fits into KИ's lineup but it looks like a good crossover. Lots of features for the price point and reasonably good quality.

@@foxxyguy2681 the soul is a sub compact thing the seltos is sub compact and the Sportage is compact. Then the telluride and sorento are both midsize
I hate that it's an SUV but 1.6 turbo and AWD for the price are just great.
Love from India, thank you. Unfortunately in India where the seltos facelift will be launched in 2023, it will probably be 3 star in GNCAP, unsafe.
Question is will it catch fire...wifey wants this but I am so averse putting my family in this.
Bro thats over with
@@fabolousjada5070 yes but there are still recalls happening for the newer models. The GT 2022 went for 3 recalls already - neighbour has one.

Very nice job with my dream vehicle Zack.

Had my notes wrong. Thanks! Still a great transmission
@Shooting Cars
No worries, still a great review.
NGL that thing looks so good, I want one xD
Also is the plural for Seltos "Seltoses" or "Selti"?

I was searching for these off and on. It seems SX Turbo with moonroof is unobtanium, even for the outgoing '23 model.
i just test drove one with a sunroof they are rolling out
Is the unit Steel Grey color?
What lavalier microphone and audio device do you use?
The mic is a RODE lavalier GO, plugged into a Zoom H1n receiver
@@ShootingCars Awesome thank you, I almost bought some $30 Sony microphone

The new 8 speed auto isn’t a DCT.
good compact SUV with a fair price 👍
The Mazda CX-5 is tried and true with no problems , Kia not so much.

Interesting
I don’t like the Seltos, sat in one for a hot minute and me and the passenger kept knocking elbows. The interior feels cramped to me.
