P L O T:
Season 4 finds the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang dojos joining forces to take down Cobra Kai at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament... and whoever loses must hang up their gi. As Samantha and Miguel try to maintain the dojo alliance and Robby goes all in at Cobra Kai, the fate of the Valley has never been more precarious. What tricks does Kreese have up his sleeve? Can Daniel and Johnny bury their decades-long hatchet to defeat Kreese? Or will Cobra Kai become the face of karate in the valley?

Definitely. Seeing that crew member putting both their hard work and skill into it kinda made that scene a lot better. That's what I'll take away from it now.

That fact that Thomas Ian Griffith is actually still such an amazing fighter makes Terry that much more intimidating. Love this BTS stuff!
I think he's got 2 black belts, 1 definitely in Tae Kwon Do; but that spinning hook kick was incredible. He's either never stopped doing martial arts, or he's just that gifted he can still pull out moves like that.
@@NateVHVT Just compare how high he can get his leg up to how high Ralph can haha. It's like riding a bike, especially if you're a blackbelt - there's so much repetition and training involved
@@TheManOnTheStreetOMG lol true. Although one must remember that unlike William Zabka and Thomas Ian Griffith, Ralph Macchio is not a martial artist in real life. He'd be the first to admit that the only time he's ever trained in the sport was for Karate Kid projects 😅 Still, I (who am not a martial artist), I think that Thomas must be impressive even by professional standards. Probably doesn't hurt that he's 6' 5" with the reach of an orangutans. So cool to watch.
That guy surprised me in Season 4.
I thought Kreese was the baddest villain, but Terry Silver's acting-chemistry with Kreese gives the show 2 good villains.
*Elizabeth Shue can return a 2nd time if the writers put Miguel's father between Johnny and his new girl.*
The chemistry between Shue and Johnny is just too good to pass up.

Binged the whole season the day it came out and it was by far by favourite season. The Johnny and Daniel dynamic was hilarious and great this season, Ralph and Billy (William) have amazing chemistry and they play off each so well. Also Terry Silver has taken over my top villain rank which used to be Kreese, he's a really good villain. Cannot wait for season 5, hopefully we don't have to wait too long
Watched the entire season New Years Eve. I mean with Omicron running rampant, best way was to stay put at home, and see in 2022 🤷♀️🎉

They improved so much on their karate. Very believable when they are doing their fight scenes! I’m a boxer and seeing their technique is impressive
I think that is one of things they are trying to improve on from the movies. As they progressed Daniel got worse.
@@bryansteele832 in the 80s, karate was not as advanced. It was American kickboxing/karate, today the disciplines are much better because technique is truly being taught and there are more ppl who learned and can teach it properly. Not all, lol but most.
Cool you're a woman boxer? Nice. I use to be a pro licensed boxer too when I was younger. I did boxing and Jeet Kune Do as a small child & became a pro boxer around 18 years old until like 25. I didn't go as far as I wanted because I was and still am a touring singer / musician so I couldn't give it 100% because of touring a lot but I miss it & was really good. I had super fast hands and a powerful left hook. Most boxers only pivot on their back foot when throwing a right hand. I use to also pivot on my left foot throwing a left hook & that's where my power came from. I would twist, pivot and use my entire body while throwing my left hook. I've had a few knockouts JUST using a check hook with power. That's something you don't normally see. Also my jab was super fast because I would put my left hand like 10 inches from my face so that when I throw the jab I didn't have much more to go to reach my opponents face. It's like halfway there already. When most put their left glove almost against their own face. I miss boxing but I'm 39 now so my boxing days are over sadly.
Xolo Maridueña is the best of 'em, it seems he's actually a part of the fight scenes.
Hawk and robbie are real life fighters and very talented
The whole crew said that HAWK is the best fighter in the cast

Without the shaky cameras of many current action movies, these kids look much better in fighting scenes. So happy about this series.
I like shaky cam sometimes, but it can be overdone for sure.

When i watched Karate kid, i was always certain Thomas was 10 years older than Ralph, because Ralph really looked like a kid, and Thomas looked like an adult. I never knew Ralph was actually this old already.

I love the new character Devon. She is funny as hell. Nate & Bert need their own spin off.
The Nate and Bert thing is funny, but tbh, I thought that Devon was kinda full of herself and they made it seem like she was such a cool person, but I think she was overdone

flawless? I'm not so sure about that. I was kinda hoping Terry Silver would remain the changed, humble, righteous guy he was at the very beginning.
The fight scene between Tanner and Jacob, did they use a stunt double for each of them? Because that scene where jacob jumps to “tie” tanner’s body with his legs is crazyyy awesome!!
Tanner & Jacob are the two best fighters in the young cast.
Jacob actually has a martial arts background which is why he's so good... And Tanner use to be a competitive dancer which is why he's so athletic and can pull off fight moves so easily... Out all the cast, they are the best fighters.

Fight scenes definitely got better although I could easily spot the stunt doubles every time. I don't watch it for the action anyway but the story and how it connects to the old movies I grew up with. Keep at it, great show

I am from Brazil. I really like the series! I am 50 years old and I watched Karate Kid when I was a teenager and now it is great to see many characters again. Anxious for season 5.

Quality having Thomas Ian Griffiths ak Terry silver in cobra kai now he was a black belt at 17 in karate and Taekwondo brilliant show.
It's a mind-breaking twist that Terry Silver went nuts in this season.
I love that if you think about it Hawk's hair looks like Jacob's at 1:16 and 2:51 when it's down out of the hair gel

I really like how they introduce all of the moves before fights so that it is easier for a casual audience to understand what is happening. My question is when the hell did hawk learn the flying triangle move that he performed on robby in the finals. It was entertaining, but it’s from a completely different ma and the tournament doesn’t allow submissions right?
They allowed the Eagle Fang gymnastics girl to use her cartwheels and stuff against Tory, right?

I gotta say, Carrie Underwood is the one thing in this season that felt completely out of place. Her speech reminded me of the cringy champion kid in season one. But, where that speech was supposed to be overbearing and annoying, Carrie Underwood's was meant to be taken seriously. Not really a big deal, but this show has been so great at earning its heartfelt and emotional moments that it felt a little cheap to bring in the well-liked celebrity guest to spell out what we should be feeling. Otherwise, great season with masterful writing!!
Totally agree. I don’t even know who she is. I guess it was a nod to first movie where there is a song playing during the tournament. That might have worked there but here it felt really cheesy and not in a good way.

They’ve gotten way better at switching out the doubles. In the first 3 seasons u could pretty much tell now I almost miss it if I’m not paying attention.

What's really great about this show is having the actors do so many of their own moves. I can easily spot stunt doubles, so seeing them work so hard makes it feel much more realistic.
