Oh my goodness Joe. The pics on twitter were sensational, and now I understand why. That was a fantastic "this is the amount of effort you need to go into to get this type of result" behind the scenes. How long was the actual process of painting? The heat gun was surely a blessing. I was grinning for most of it and my mouth was hanging open for the rest. Cheers, JAYTEE
Thanks buddy. painting wise it took me around 2 - 3 hours. gotta say that it's only thanks to the heat gun that i can quicken the process or else it would take at least a day or two to wait for the paint to dry :)
you are amazing. please make more technical videos, explaining how to achieve such impressing results with painting models... does using the heat gun does something to the color, or is it just to make things go faster ?
I’m thinking the pirate guy to be honest, just trying to picture it in my head. Won’t be easy as I have nothing to go on, would have to be pure imagination hehe
Amazing job on this! My son and I are getting into 3d printing, and painting our models. One tough part is finding a good process for sanding. What is the sandpaper u are using? Been looking and cant find anything that looks like that. Thanks for any help!
Love your videos man, I think I'm going to need to buy a spray machine:) I also need a 400x400 build area printer (I'm starting to make architectural models). How is your Anycubic chiron holding up? I'm trying to decide between the cr10s4 or this. Any advice? please!!! Keep up the good work man.
Hey man, Love how these came out... Im about to buy an airbrush kit and was wondering what primer did you use on these models? all of the primers i found say they arent sandable. any help would be most appreicated!
I enjoyed this and the Thanos print videos, must look through the channel if you have any airbrush tutorials (I am just starting to learn to use one). 2 Questions however. Is the large yellow drill looking thing a Heat Gun? and secondly, is there a term besides "Lazy Susan" for a base that rotates like that? Cause I cannot find anything unless I use Lazy Susan and it's always very short and stocky looking things.
@@3DMakerNoob Thank you for the reply, I did both a google search and searches on the local online shops for my country. I can get a glass Lazy Susan for cake displays which I could just wrap in news paper, or pay literally 8 times the price for one that looks similar to the one in your video but less than half the diameter of the Lazy Susan (I'd be cheaper to just buy a table for the lazy susan) :P Looks like more people spin cakes than air brush it seems XP
hello! first good job! Can you tell us whath kind of filament did you use and its brand? can you tell more about your smoothing process? Only Sanding and paint with a special paint? What is the layer height? I am really impressed and curious about the smoothing quality of this model!!!
I used aprintapro Pearl White PLA, at 150 microns. I just used a few extra coats of primer to fill in the uneven layers and then sanding. Didn’t need too much though as the printer is calibrated fairly well
@@3DMakerNoob Ok thank you!! I have the same printer and I am having some print quality problems at the moment, but I only used Prusa filaments that I ordered with the printer. that's why I would like to test filaments whose result is proven by others like you ;)
Hi. Your videos have got my 9yr old son hooked and have got him his first airbrush kit. (Thank you). Only question I have is, do I have to prime PLA prints prior to painting? Great videos and thanks again for firing his imagination
Hi, happy to see that the younger generation gets inspired by anything at all i do :) the answer is technically no, you don't HAVE to prime it, but it always helps to give you a better result and less runny paint. even if it's just a plain base coat to start with
What type of sandpaper are you using? I see a spongy surface. Is that a simple sponge that you packed it under the sandpaper? Also... sandpaper number? Thanks in advance.
The timelapse was so beautiful. The final result is mind blowing. Your hardwork paid off.
Aways a pleasure watching you paint these models thanks joe.
Amazing video! The print turned out SO GOOD. You can’t even tell it was 3D printing. Paint job is perfect. Nice job. Can’t wait for more content
Love watching you paint! The comments at the end really enhances the video!
Wonderful paint job!
Very talented man! And your accent is fascinating! Shades of British in there!
Thank you for the compliment :) I’m Maltese, so my accent is a mix of many nationalities I had the pleasure of conversing with and picking up :)
As always joe outstanding work dude.keep the faith and as always thank you for sharing
Very chilled out video. Love it. Keep up the good work.
Very nicely done. Can't wait to see more.

Joe, Great Job Man!
That look really nice my friend
Really amazing and without using a masking tape 👍
Excellent job Joe! Thanks!
Love it! What a great print, and a great paint job :)
Thank you :)
Amazing work. Do you mind posting a link to the spong you're using? Thanks for sharing.

Literally just dries faster
Epic as always.
I hope next video is with David's Spiderman or the pirate guy! :)

It is spectacular!!!
What parameters have you used to have such a good impression? layer height? it is very good!! Thank you
That Vallejo is a surface primer, not supposed to be sanded, he just peel off.
hello, very good job. What is your nail polish at the end?

You can look for it as airbrush turntable :) and yes that’s a heat gun, helps dry the paint quicker :)

I will design and release files for a 3D printed version soon :)
Great job, i printed the same and a question came to me , what black painting are you using for the eyes?
hi I was wondering what layer height you used? and what infil percentage did you use?
I just printed this. What could i use for the sanding ?

How much it last after the painting? And which cares are needed?
Increible..... enorabuena buen trabajo.... un saludo y like 👍
do you have a link for the sanding sponges you used?
another
beautiful result. how is your new air compressor performing?
it's actually doing really well, very happy with it

Thank you again. Happy holidays to you and family. I’m going to be cleaning airbrush guns over mine. Phil
Which grit of sandpaper did you used?
Can I still painted if I don't have a filler ?
what layer height was the bust printed at?
What type of sandpaper are you using?
I see a spongy surface. Is that a simple sponge that you packed it under the sandpaper?
Also... sandpaper number?
Thanks in advance.
The sandpaper itself comes stuck to a soft sheet of sponge, it’s 800 grit
And where in Malta (or online) can someone find that type?
whats the specs on that print joe layer hight speed ect .you did it justice and more
it was printed at 0.15mm layers :)
Inspiring!
what type of sandpaper do you use??
What red are you use?
good print how long hours
16 hours
Nice sculpt, nice print, okay paintjob. Overall 4/5.
What would have made the painting better?
@@thenightninja13 Make it cleaner, add more detail, texture and depth, add highlights?
Any chance you can paste a link to one of your painted models? I’m always up for learning and seeing what I can do in two hours
@@3DMakerNoob Conceded, there's only so much painting one can do in 2 hours.
Unfortunately my time is limited at the moment and I try to use a couple of hours on a Sunday morning to paint and record, then edit at night
Congrats! Looks amazing. But please, try something else for the background music for next time ;)
Noted, thank you :)
You don't need supports with this model btw.
great print and paint joe, but gotta be honest the music did my head in :-/
Apologies buddy, promise to choose better next time :)
You should do Hellboy by Printed Obsession on MyMiniFactory next! goo.gl/WxaatF
Great job. I love busts! I invite you to see my Ironman bust at my channel. I will print one like yours soon and a T-800 too, for sure. Good video.
First like and comment
Nice model, annoying music!
Awesome paint job!
Thank you :)
