There's no one who gets more different and interesting sounds out of a period flute than Barthold. Got the chance to attend one of his masterclasses, a kind gentleman who truly loves what he does.
It sounds like the pitch in this recording was changed to be about higher. It sounds off, especially when I try and play along with it even though I've turned my flute.
Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis. The number means just like a catalogue number, or in this case Bach's composition number. Try google next time if you don't know something.
I thought the same but then studied piano and I belive that great part of the appreciation I have for it now comes from realizing all the different things you must do to do it right.
My favourite flute sonata. My favourite flute work. My favourite work of Bach 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
To call this work perfection is an understatement.

This is more than likely at a=392 or a=415 a contemporary pitch for Bach's time.
It’s baroque pitch. It’s closer to E flat minor
what does the BWV 1034 mean?represent?

Johnny Trash ah okay thanks. will do
Who is playing this?
Barthold Kuijken (transverse flute)
Ewald Demeyere (harpsichord)
Is the flute wooden?
Ja!
Is that artificial hair or real…. But it’s okay, sounds are beautiful. Thanks.

I think classical music is overated
you must be very young

I think technology, space travel, physics, literature and history are overrated. Stick to Fortnite.
Yes, baroque music should be listened more
Chris honey, what world are you living in?
