When it makes that sound and it glows you're supposed to press "RT and LT" or "RB and LB" to do a special. If they're blocking it won't work and you can only do it once. Edit: I'm not really good at the game I just played it as a kid.

And you can just press the right bumper to use your rage drive it's like a finishing move

@@stragalot0 Only for some characters. There are a lot of characters who are easy to use. Like Eddy Gordo is one of the easiest characters to use.
