What are your thoughts on Colossus?

Colossus is my favourite hero so far. I love his tough mechanic and how his cards synergize with one another. I play him solo Justice where he becomes a control hero. I have 8 allies to use as meat shields and thwart help, beat cops for passive threat removal and use Steel Fists and Concussive Blows to control. When I flip to alter ego, I will recycle Steel Fists or Organic Steels. Very strong hero but of course is sad against pierce and retaliate.

I've been using Colossus with a shield Justice deck and it is probably my absolute favorite solo combo. He always feels 100% in control of every solo game. No worry about flipping down and back up repeatedly because of the passive thwart from surveillance team and beat cop. Throw in homeland intervention and it's crazy good.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I like Colossus in multiplayer and with protection. Having said that, though, he, like just about all of the bruisers in this game, are so fragile! With him, it is so easy to get trapped in a no-win situation, where the only way to get a tough is to flip down but flipping down will result in a game loss. He really does need the 14-hp/superpower basic card set and even then can get overwhelmed. His nemesis set is also rough and can also ruin him.

I've found Colossus really fun to play in my few games. Solo with the Justice crutch he can draw loads of cards, tank all the attacks and deal decent damage. He really hates piercing of course and also retaliate,(and I expect Ultron drones).
And as you say, repeatedly 😉, he can just run out of tough and be very sad. He feels more villain dependent than most heroes but strong and entertaining in the right match ups.

I also wonder how bad am I with juggling the toughs. I was watching someone else play with him and they seemed to do such a better job lol

It seems that the introduction of the X-men is to have these hero's be complimentary. In the comics the early X-men fought as a team, unlike the Avengers who were gathered to deal with very large scale threats. Could this be a way for Fantasy Flight to get more multi-player play going where you will play 2 or more X-men together to defeat these scenarios.

I think in general FFG always pictured this game as a multiplayer game that you could play solo. So they are definitely catering to that audience, which I get. I think in general there hasn't been much support or marketing toward like people that play 4 player, so this is their, let's give you something and have you all work as a team.
