In this unity dev log I made a game, but I only have seven days. I attempted my first game jam as an indie game developer and this is the game jam dev log for the 7 day roguelike gamejam.

OMG! This was EPIC! 😱 I can't believe you made a 3D roguelike game in just 7 days! The procedural generation part was mind-blowing, and the different types of enemies with their own weapons? kinda want to start making games w unity do you have any advice as to where to start?
i mean i 100% should not be learning to code rn because i have my finals coming up and instead of studying im learning russian, learning c#, writing music, etc etc.
probably should just study lmao

I think the best way to learn game dev is to watch a few tutorials on RUclips, maybe a tutorial series, just to understand the basics of everything. Then just start making your own projects. I would recommend starting off simple and making a game around a single mechanic, for example try to make a simple platformer with a few levels and a dash mechanic. You can then expand on that simple game and add new features, or start a new project around a new mechanic.
In short, the best way to learn is to just do it. You'll see yourself improving with every project. Good luck on your game development journey!
