The fact that Kiana said a very identical line to what Himeko said in Final Lesson hits very hard.. In the Seven Swords Visual Novel, it’s never been officially translated into English, Otto travels along side Sushang (who has a crush on him but thinks he’s a girl the whole time 🏳️🌈) who called him Luocha during the VN. They also meet Yangqing during the VN and throughout it Otto looks like HSR Luocha, wearing his hair down, Chinese robes, and carries a coffin.

The way I understand it, since the Imaginary Tree is such an obscure entity, no one can even begin to think of how to access it as it is - but Otto spent half a millenium trying to find out how. He was finally able to use Herrscher power (or at least emulate it) to finally access the Imaginary Tree and create a new branch where Kallen doesn't die (which I assume means Kallen dies no matter what). He succeeded, but died in the process, having been immolated by the Judgement of Shamash.
HE SPENT HALF A MILLENIUM... man, that's serious dedication, even if he went about it the wrong way. 🥺 otto is such a fascinating character. probably one of the more well-written villains i've seen!!
Just to add a little on to this, I don't think it's that Kallen always dies, Otto made a point in that arc that he very specifically wanted the Kallen he knew to live. He didn't care about others from other worlds so he needed to make a new branch from the moment of her death in the past of HI3 earth.

The baseball bat is "ORIGINALLY" from Kiana and not from the Trailblazer so saying that the bat was a reference to the Trailblazer is a stretch cuz it's the other way around.

one of the reason why Lament of the Fallen in JP is works so much better is because Kiana's and Mei's VA has long history being paired as besties/sisters in other works, so the chemistry is already there and they just need crank it up to the max here

About the baseball bat, well from GGZ Kiana used it as one of her best weapons, but all through the Honkai story the Kaslanas seems to like to use it as weapon, Siegfried (Kiana's dad) used it in SE manga to beat honkai beasts, Kiana used it in the Meteoric Salvation animation, and even Kevin in one scene of the credits from Because of You animation when he fought a honkai beast
I wish you watched the JP dub of everlasting flames the voice actress put way more emotion into the cinematic. The CN version almost feels flat in comparison.

Here’s my theory on HSR Kiana. There isn’t gonna be one. When we look at the trailer for Archron we see the swords are in order of the Previous Era Herrschers and the Previous Era version of Kiana is Kevin and their version of Mei is called Dr. MEI who like Mei and Kiana is paired with Kevin. Moreover Kevin is first introduced in GGZ as an alternate universe genderswap Kiana. In the PE Dr. MEI dies but Kevin lives. Given how Kiana is the Herrscher of Finality in HI3 and Mei the Herrscher of Origin, paired with the talk she had with Welt in which she says she killed her world’s version of Kevin. I think that HSR never had a Kiana, it had a Kevin much like the PE in HI3 and Archeron killed him.
Given Kiana was a clone and isn't naturally present, it would much less likely appear elsewhere. However, that doesn't explain Durandal, who's had a hair colour change and therefore all *her* expies should have her original hair colour rather than appearing similar to Jean and Serval! (Admittedly, both of those are not very close expies of Durandal to begin with!)

@@silopunk If you also want "fun" context for that, Himeko became a valkyrie to find out what happened to her dad. Why did she want to find out what happened to her dad? Welt and Einstein refused to tell her how he died because they thought it would be too much for young Himeko if she knew her father whom she admired has gone mad, and even told Welt he doesn't even care about his daughter anymore.
The whole fight from _Everlasting Flames_ is a mirror for _Final Lesson_ . Kiana truly inherits the flames from Himeko. She is the Herrscher of Famoly. And she's not stopping here!

Veliona (Red Seele) may look evil or evil-coded but she isn’t. She represents the parts that actual Seele isn’t. Seele is shy, reserved, and passive while Veliona is violent, impulsive, and flirtatious (especially towards Da Bronya because like Seele, she too simps for her).

Seele's first battlesuit, Swallowtail Phantasm (free from the Starter Manual) only shows Veliona for a limited time as part of her Ultimate. Yep. Otto is the villain. Everything he did was to find a way to bring back Kallen. Spoiler. Kallen was a lesbian who was in love with the reincarnation of Yae Sakura.
HI3 has ruined the other Hoyo games for me. We haven’t had any moments that hit as hard as HI3’s moments and haven’t had nearly as much character growth in any of the games either (plus HI3 skip button exists and it’s auto play function actually works). I’m hoping that changes with ZZZ’s smaller cast and focus on factions and characters but we’ll see.
Watching the vid as I comment, so about the serum Himeko used on Kiana, well its called the spear of destiny, and its a neutralizing serum, so Himeko is a old valkyrie and she dont have a natural stigma so she was implanted an artificial one and that can cause more easily honkai infection and that could make her a zombie or a honkai beast, Himeko is already on her limit, so now she used the key of blankness that is a battlesuit that can use the cores/gems from herrschers to power the battlesuit and grant it the power of a herrscher (in the story the battlesuit is already equiped with the gem of haste so the herrscher of fire and is one of the most destructive herrschers powers), so Himeko already in her limit used this battlesuit and during the battle the battlesuit was corrupting her (the pinkish lines on her) and she could have survived if she used the serum, but instead she used it on Kiana to help her regain the control of her body
Himeko knew she was dead anyways Even before the battle happened. IDK why they decided to make her look like she just took a bath in the CG when the scene before that is her lamenting she couldn’t have some wine (or something similar idr)

The way I understand it, since the Imaginary Tree is such an obscure entity, no one can even begin to think of how to access it as it is - but Otto spent half a millenium trying to find out how. He was finally able to use Herrscher power (or at least emulate it) to finally access the Imaginary Tree and create a new branch where Kallen doesn't die (which I assume means Kallen dies no matter what). He succeeded, but died in the process, having been immolated by the Judgement of Shamash.
HE SPENT HALF A MILLENIUM... man, that's serious dedication, even if he went about it the wrong way. 🥺 otto is such a fascinating character. probably one of the more well-written villains i've seen!!
Just to add a little on to this, I don't think it's that Kallen always dies, Otto made a point in that arc that he very specifically wanted the Kallen he knew to live. He didn't care about others from other worlds so he needed to make a new branch from the moment of her death in the past of HI3 earth.

MEI was a warrior in Izumo instead of a researcher, however Kevin still stole the Authority of the End so no true Kami of the End could manifest, and so MEI could beat _End_ . Izumo did defeat its Kamigami, however they could not defeat IX.
Izumo had only 12 Sentinels and bearers, however one samsara cycle of Earth's had a thirteen: Elysia, bearer of the Signet of [ ] [ ] . Izumo had no Elysia.
oh, this is fascinating to know... it's really interesting to find out all the callbacks to HI3 in that one video alone. i can imagine how it must have been to watch it as a HI3 fan and have all the dots connect!! super cool experience, i'm sure.

It's pretty wild, and so was seeing _Reburn II_ and the APHO Ch2 trailers at the end of the _Starfire Sonorant_ concert. Sadly, they're not included in the VOD, but they are in the PV playlist. Watching the concerts live is also an experience.
The baseball bat is "ORIGINALLY" from Kiana and not from the Trailblazer so saying that the bat was a reference to the Trailblazer is a stretch cuz it's the other way around.
She already had it back on GGZ (Honkai Gakuen) which is the game that debut before Honkai Impact 3rd so it's the Trailblazer who is referencing Kiana.

one of the reason why Lament of the Fallen in JP is works so much better is because Kiana's and Mei's VA has long history being paired as besties/sisters in other works, so the chemistry is already there and they just need crank it up to the max here

About the baseball bat, well from GGZ Kiana used it as one of her best weapons, but all through the Honkai story the Kaslanas seems to like to use it as weapon, Siegfried (Kiana's dad) used it in SE manga to beat honkai beasts, Kiana used it in the Meteoric Salvation animation, and even Kevin in one scene of the credits from Because of You animation when he fought a honkai beast

Here’s my theory on HSR Kiana. There isn’t gonna be one.
When we look at the trailer for Archron we see the swords are in order of the Previous Era Herrschers and the Previous Era version of Kiana is Kevin and their version of Mei is called Dr. MEI who like Mei and Kiana is paired with Kevin. Moreover Kevin is first introduced in GGZ as an alternate universe genderswap Kiana.
In the PE Dr. MEI dies but Kevin lives. Given how Kiana is the Herrscher of Finality in HI3 and Mei the Herrscher of Origin, paired with the talk she had with Welt in which she says she killed her world’s version of Kevin.
I think that HSR never had a Kiana, it had a Kevin much like the PE in HI3 and Archeron killed him.
Given Kiana was a clone and isn't naturally present, it would much less likely appear elsewhere.
However, that doesn't explain Durandal, who's had a hair colour change and therefore all *her* expies should have her original hair colour rather than appearing similar to Jean and Serval!
(Admittedly, both of those are not very close expies of Durandal to begin with!)

The whole fight from _Everlasting Flames_ is a mirror for _Final Lesson_ . Kiana truly inherits the flames from Himeko. She is the Herrscher of Famoly. And she's not stopping here!

Veliona also protects Seele and acts as the brakes against her accidentally unleashing her full power. That said, Part 1.5 of the story is all about Veliona becoming her own person, because Seele has always treated her as an equal.
The reason we call her 'Veliona' despite her never being called that in any official material is because some of Stygian Nymph's skills refer to 'Veliona' and 'Saule' ids. This stuck with the fans.
Seele's first battlesuit, Swallowtail Phantasm (free from the Starter Manual) only shows Veliona for a limited time as part of her Ultimate. Stygian Nymph's Ultimate allows the player to switch between 'Saule' and 'Veliona' as battle stances, with Saule being more AoE focused, and Veliona being single-target. Then there's Starchasm Nyx, which, as a result of Seele giving her permission, is all Veliona all the time. Seele's current battlesuit is similarly all her all the time, however it does have two stances, DPS and Support.

HI3 has ruined the other Hoyo games for me. We haven’t had any moments that hit as hard as HI3’s moments and haven’t had nearly as much character growth in any of the games either (plus HI3 skip button exists and it’s auto play function actually works). I’m hoping that changes with ZZZ’s smaller cast and focus on factions and characters but we’ll see.
I hope fu hua(my favourite character) doesnt become a character in star rail. I hate how star rail treats ggz and hi3 characters

Watching the vid as I comment, so about the serum Himeko used on Kiana, well its called the spear of destiny, and its a neutralizing serum, so Himeko is a old valkyrie and she dont have a natural stigma so she was implanted an artificial one and that can cause more easily honkai infection and that could make her a zombie or a honkai beast, Himeko is already on her limit, so now she used the key of blankness that is a battlesuit that can use the cores/gems from herrschers to power the battlesuit and grant it the power of a herrscher (in the story the battlesuit is already equiped with the gem of haste so the herrscher of fire and is one of the most destructive herrschers powers), so Himeko already in her limit used this battlesuit and during the battle the battlesuit was corrupting her (the pinkish lines on her) and she could have survived if she used the serum, but instead she used it on Kiana to help her regain the control of her body

Himeko knew she was dead anyways Even before the battle happened. IDK why they decided to make her look like she just took a bath in the CG when the scene before that is her lamenting she couldn’t have some wine (or something similar idr)
