    UPDATE* I will be doing an update video on the throttle body, quick run down high rpm seems to have more poke above 5500rpm, feels easier to heal and toe (rev match) the throttle feels ever so slightly lazier low in the revs sub 2500rpm but this was only after a 40 mins drive under different loads this might not be run in correctly yet or this may be how it is 🤷‍♂️ the car is not mapped and don’t intent to map the car but the INTAKE NOISE is worth the money alone! 😂I am no racing driver this is my opinion. This is a £44 throttle body from eBay it’s a cheap quick modification to do to your car there are no fault codes, just be aware of the internet hating it even if you like it it may add horsepower it may not its all depending on what you want from the vehicle which I have gotten from my car. Modifications play a big role: intake manifold/cams/ exhaust/ tuning etc. A good source is puma speed and similar well known brands for ‘fast fords’

    I like your style. Instead of fixing the break line. Add more POWER. English version of roadkill. Good vid mate.

    I think if you put a tube with around 75⁰ - 80⁰ bend in it, so it brings your cone filter further forward, it should help give slightly better gains.
    All the tuning videos I've watched with inlet/throttle body/cone filter mods, trying different setups, ie no pipe vs straight pipe vs bent pipe etc, oddly the bent pipe gives max gains. 👍

    Great to meet another ST150 RUclipsr. This is a good mod but i want to go for more torque then bhp when i come to my mods so thinking to stay with the standard TB. But will get a Fusion Fabrications Inlet :)

      Is a option , not bether to take a fusion am a trotlebody in combination??

    Great video, but how could you measure internal diameter with calipers 100% properly. Just to do it 100% wrong just next!

    Standard tb with induction kit gives better gains in torque. Bigger tb is more top end less torque. You get better compressed velocity air with standard.

    You won’t get any gains on standard set up u just get the placebo effect.
    Only need a bigger TB if u have an inlet manifold an NA st with an inlet mani will lose down low torque so really unless you also gonna turbo or SC it not worth doing

      Are you saying a standard ST150 will lose some BHP if you fit a 60mm throttle body ?

    • @EvolutionGamesWales
      @EvolutionGamesWales 3 года назад +1

      No mate you won’t lose horsepower it just won’t do anything putting a larger bore throttle body on the standard inlet manifold does nothing as even though the bigger TB let’s in more air it has to go through the standard bore of the standard inlet manifold so there is still a restriction there hence no real gains. The only reason to put a larger TB is if your putting on a bigger inlet mani like a cossie inlet manifold for example. The problem with that is although with the right set up of supporting mods with a performance inlet manifold you will get around 200bhp but they lose torque down low. I have a mate with the MR200 kit on his car and even he told me to stick with the mr185 if I was to buy a kit as he has lost torque. So unless you supercharge or turbo charge the ST there any a lot of point to doing it

      Hi mate, I've got a st150 ots had a load done to it including cosworth plenum, K&N filter, 4 branch manifold with a full exhaust system, I have a rolling road print out 200bhp I will have to check what T/B is on mine now if its stock I'll order a 60mm and see if it makes a difference.

      @@EvolutionGamesWaleswill have to disagree on that one. I've got a larger one on my car and the difference is night and day.

      You just turn on the ignition for 1 to 2 minutes then the ecu know on wich position the throttel body is

    Lol all that to then put a warm air intake k&n filter on 😂😂😂😂😂😂 no clue what so ever

    Is it still running ok that's very cheap for a throttle body

  • @ragensf

    How does the car run after this? I’ve heard a lot that after the upgrade you need to get it mapped in?

    • @kyracing8902
      @kyracing8902  4 года назад +1

      All's good I will keep you updated of any changes yes the correct thing to do would be to get it mapped on a rolling road, I wouldn't recommend remapping with only the throttle body have some supporting mods e.g k&n air filter cone, the standard air box it bad for heat soaking and therefore losing power. 👍

  • @ashb9319
    @ashb9319 2 года назад +2

    Lmao the people putting cone filters on thinking they get better air feed air flow and colder air need a slap.

    • @alimunns
      @alimunns 9 месяцев назад

      That type of cone filter 💯. Enclosed induction kit cone filters will gain. But it's very minor gains if any. People mainly do it for noise tbh. Unless its a turbo car then it'll gain a fair amount of power with open cone filter and heat soak doesn't matter as much either. I'd also argue their car their money. Also mk6 ford fiesta is only worth about 20 quid in all honesty anyways. so why not throws bits in the bin and replace it with cheap mods.

    what benefits does a "performance" throttle body give compared to stock, just increased air intake due to larger diameter intake
