Someone needs to an Animate this in the same style as Tim Burton's nightmare before Christmas and have Jack Skelton. Repeating this in the same voice, it would be amazing
This is an excellent interpretation of the poem. I was fascinated by how you did it. I also approach "The Raven" through singing and music and have been doing so for the last 30 years. Though my vocal approach is quite different, I admire the artistry of what you did. The world is richer for your having done so.
I'm glad it helped! It's so cool to me that high schoolers are using this as an aid because I fell in love with this poem when it was taught in high school English class.
At first, I was a little offended by the idea of this. "Music Adaptation!"; I was expecting some trashy techno-beat or pig slaughter screamer. Needless to say, to my absolute surprise, this is inspiring. It can be difficult to sit down and understand what it is you're reading when it comes to older literary inspirations; you've given this old cryptic poem a living voice. I hope to see another soon!
I thought the exact same thing, although it is probably more the way he kind of stutters a little and runs his sentences together. Listen to What's This from Nightmare Before Christmas and you'll hear it
Wow... That was awesome! It sounds like something that Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas would recite. I think that is the best way to hear this poem. Well done, sir!! I wish there was a way to clap in comments.
I was searching for a very good version that I downloaded long time ago because I loved it very much, and couldn't find anymore. Untill I recognised it in this one. I prefer the old one without the piano, it's more intimate and pure. The poem doesn't need any 'scary-halloween' sounds, the way you recited it there is just perfect to me. Though this one is the best on YT too.
This is a fantastic version of this poem. My teacher showed us this video in literature class today while we were learning about Edgar Allan Poe and his famous poems and stories. I just wanted you to know that you have great emotional execution and that your amazing work is being used in classrooms!
What a legend! And I think this genre will be so instrumental in bringing literary passion back to our millenials who, sadly, are losing a linguistic luster Thank you for this! I'm thinking of learning it myself now :)
1) This is absolutely brilliant. It helped me learn the poem by heart 2) Now I want Amy Lee to make a music adaptation of the poem, too. Her voice would fit perfectly
Great to hear it helped you my friend! My grandparents are from Germany, born and raised, and I have lots of family in Augsburg. I've been to Germany several times and I love it. I'm proud to say I have German heritage!
A friend of mine showed me this and I can't say anything else than it is absolutely brilliant, the music, the vocal and the pictures fit perfectly together, heh, actually, the first time I listened to it I was chilled with awe. Good job!
You sound just like Danny Elfman singing as Jack. Which is a very good thing. It's very Elfman. I might download this and use it to help me memorize the poem. Fantastic job!
Glad you like it! It makes me happy that this has been helping a lot of American high schoolers memorize the poem. I had to memorize it when i was a sophomore and have been in loved with it ever since.
I used this too to memorize The Raven! It was optional for my class but if you did you’d get extra credit and a plush raven. I still have my raven on my shelf. Thank you very much!
god i love this poem... and god i love your version of it! its so awesome. the mood it gets me in, giving me chills down the spine. this awesome poem song to creepy music! this is simply perfect! this version and the one where Christopher Lee reads it aloud are clearly the best! thank you SO mucj ^^
For some reason I start to think about "The Nightmare Before Cristmas" Both for the creeply though awesome voice, and thanks to the creepy music. And for that reason that I just can't stop listen/watch it! Love it
awesome work, man! I know a lot of people have already said this but your voice sounds like Jack Skellington :). If you are interested in making another musical adaption I suggest The Reaper and the Flowers, its a bit of a slower poem but I think it could make a good musical adaption.
COOL!!!!!!! THIS IS AWESOME I LOVE IT SO FUCKING MUCH!!!! IT"S KINDA EMO LIKE AND IS DEPRESSING BUT AWESOME!!!!!!! i'd love to hear more music of edger allan poe's poems sorry about the caps that's how AMAZING it is
This video made me think of Jack Skellington. I can tell in some of your tones and pitches, there are some mimicking of his voice. Very well done, I must say.
oh my gosh thank you so much! This was really catchy & i have a pre ap test which i have to memorize the WHOLE poem! Thank you for making this now i'm gonna ace it!
Not gonna lie, this song helped me during English class when we had to memorize whole the poem for Poe-try month.
GioTheVax doing that right now😔
Karl Physics same smh 😔
Lol yup
That was the best reading of my favourite poem ever.
I've just burst into tears.
As a goth alcoholic whos only love is forever gone I feel for Edgar so much I just want to give the poor guy a hug
Back when I had a mere hope
I can truly relate I have some of my own work if you would like
This was all Propaganda, it's never proved that he is a true alcoholic or drug addic
Thated be quite nice brother in sorow @@MonkoMcCarthy
he was a pedophile. just enjoy his art.
Am I the only one who hears Jack Skellington? 😱 I love your voice!
No I thought the same, and not in a bad way either.
I think yes
Someone needs to an Animate this in the same style as Tim Burton's nightmare before Christmas and have Jack Skelton. Repeating this in the same voice, it would be amazing
So many old men recite this poem, but its all monotonous. This? This right here is fantastic! It has emotion. Stellar music. Beautiful.
Absolutely love it, i come here pretty regularly just to listen to this hahah, the passion at the end and the build-up is so good
You're welcome, and thanks for the kind response!
Your a genius thank you for this . Edgars my idol and this is pure genius
By far the best version out there, I've been coming back for eight years to this one version
You should do a music version of the Tell-Tale heart......
I will start thinking about how to go about it! Great idea, thanks.
@@CineMarktography I second this notion.
The beating of that hideous heart
The beating of that hideous heart
The beating of that hideous ❤️
This is an excellent interpretation of the poem. I was fascinated by how you did it. I also approach "The Raven" through singing and music and have been doing so for the last 30 years. I'd love to ur version fellow child of night
Oh please do other Poe's poems...
You are amazing and this is the best adaptation of raven that i have heard
PLEASE!!!!!!!!
I heard this a few years ago and fell in love! So glad I found it again, wish you would post more!
I'm glad it helped! It's so cool to me that high schoolers are using this as an aid because I fell in love with this poem when it was taught in high school English class.
Edgar would be proud bro
At first, I was a little offended by the idea of this. "Music Adaptation!"; I was expecting some trashy techno-beat or pig slaughter screamer. Needless to say, to my absolute surprise, this is inspiring.

I hope to see another soon!
Thanks Poe for increasing my vocabulary vastly throughout the years
It sounds like Jack Skellington! Absolutely stunning work, beautiful :D
last time i heard this was a year ago, and i still love this
I come here couple of times in a year for years. One of the best joys of my life.
This is amazing, i keep coming back to this one. Thank you!
I want the rest of his poems to be made into songs like this
Omg...I love your voice. You sound just like jack skellington...its amazing!
I agree that he does indeed sound very similar. However, I find Jacks' voice to be slightly higher pitch.
Chandler Vannoy true....
I thought the exact same thing, although it is probably more the way he kind of stutters a little and runs his sentences together. Listen to What's This from Nightmare Before Christmas and you'll hear it
I agree the way he sings it he sounds like him
Same thing I was thinking. He sings with so much expression and voice like Danny Elfman.
I'd just like to say that this is still an excellent way to memorize The Raven.
There's a cat on every picture and I love it.
Sounds like Jack Skellington. :3
Finaly ! A black butler fun !
I love this....it is hauntingly beautiful. Thank you for making it and sharing it.
Wow... That was awesome! It sounds like something that Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas would recite. I think that is the best way to hear this poem. Well done, sir!! I wish there was a way to clap in comments.
I honestly wasn't expecting to like this as much as Omnia's version, but this is amazing! Truly mesmerizing, you had me absolutely captivated.
I was just listening to your older rendition, and thought you would make another one. Our timing is impeccable
Amazing! I'm Brazilian and I love this poem and this this videos is just... Amazing!
WOW incredible :) I especially loved the whispering voice when you said "nevermore." Had such a creepy tone
Oh, it's your voice...
For a lond time i've tried to find this version of poem, but...
Your voise and idea r fantastic!
I was searching for a very good version that I downloaded long time ago because I loved it very much, and couldn't find anymore. Untill I recognised it in this one. You should listen to the version by the band Omnia: ruclips.net/video/QzR4cyTL2Gc/видео.html
This song quite literally saved my life, thank you
This is an absolutely fantastic reading of this piece! You captured the mood perfectly!
The ending was epic! As it started I thought it wasn't a song at all :D Anyways, great job
have to memorize this for declamation, this helped a lot! thank you so much.
Very Tim Burton-esque with the rhythm-a Tim Burton film based around Poe would be fantastic. Great job!
This is a fantastic version of this poem. My teacher showed us this video in literature class today while we were learning about Edgar Allan Poe and his famous poems and stories. I just wanted you to know that you have great emotional execution and that your amazing work is being used in classrooms!
Perfect reciting your voice is perfect quick but sooth and you put tone in it! It's my favourite poem thank you !
Got goosebumps at the end, just like I did the first time I read it. Congratulations.
I just cannot stop listening to this! It's incredibly catchy, and addicting.
My first thought when i heard this, I guess Jack Skellington wanted to sing some Poe.
Seriously, i like this.
What a legend! And I think this genre will be so instrumental in bringing literary passion back to our millenials who, sadly, are losing a linguistic luster Thank you for this! I'm thinking of learning it myself now :)
This was phenomenal! You have a great talent of rearranging the words to music. This inspired my stories. Love this poem/song.
1) This is absolutely brilliant. It helped me learn the poem by heart
2) Now I want Amy Lee to make a music adaptation of the poem, too. Her voice would fit perfectly

The Nevermore musical version will always be my favorite but this is great
Wow! That's great). I love this poem so much. I love this version). Good job!)
I used this too to memorize The Raven! It was optional for my class but if you did you’d get extra credit and a plush raven. I still have my raven on my shelf. Thank you very much!

This interpretation is great..Big like from Croatia :)
Please, I want it on Spotify
OMG, I've just found another comment in which one year ago I asked the same thing😂
There are several versions of the Raven which all are nice. My favorite one is that of The Alan Parsons Project. I re commend to listen to it.
Very good, reminds me of Serj Tankian with elements from the nightmare before christmas
I had a project where I had to recite the raven by memory and this is the only reason I passed it
I felt it weird coz stanzas r not separated it does not matter tho, but the last few lines is soooo astonishing!!!! Great job love it!!!

Hey, guys, could someone please tell me the name of the music composition? Could I get it without the words anywhere?
Jade Rush I wrote the music composition. I'll see if I mix and export a version without words.
I really like this. You did a great job on it.I keep listening.
Beautiful.
The old version is private now. Why? I love that adaptation. Share, please.
This video made me think of Jack Skellington. I can tell in some of your tones and pitches, there are some mimicking of his voice. Very well done, I must say.
If this was played on violin with the vocals from this video I think I'd straight up have an eargasm
Favorite poem. Great job with the song and video :)
