The pulsar gun seems like it is a copy or deeply inspired by the plasma cannon from Rival Rebels back in 1.7.10. it even seems like they have the same sounds

You remember this mod! Yes it’s very inspired by that, I played a lot with this mod a very long time ago. Later i'll add a controllable MechaGodzilla to Stuff & Torpedoes like the giant robot of Rival Rebels
