Great video. Thanks for sharing your trip. I couldn't hear your dialogue very well with the music, but enjoyed looking at the views through your camera. Thank you!

Yes the sound wasn't great due to the high wind so I put the music on anyway. Thanks for watching. Atb Darren

Nice on Darren n Karl , pretty wild conditions on the summits ... I did think you would end up on your arse with pole in one hand and camera in the other on those slippy rocks 😂 . Yeah those Aktos need plenty of venting in damp conditions . Great stuff atb Dave

Funny enough I was going to do this hike last weekend for the first time, coming down off Loft Crag but a friend said it was an awful way down, so ended up somewhere else. Looked really busy for 08.30 and as I am a NT trust member nice to see I could park at the pub for free, although, it looked like for an overnight stay even members have to pay £10. Looked a blowy old day on the tops but the views were superb. Great place to pitch and nice to see the rain kept off while you were doing it. Looked a chilly morning but nice bit of sun to wake up too, cheers Alan

What a shame you didn't do it, it would have been nice to bump into you. Yes it was a busy day considering how windy it was, you could have come down Stake pass into the valley? Thanks for watching Atb Darren

New subb, really enjoyed the trip and thank you for putting it on utube for us to watch. I had problems with my old Akto and condensation, especially when pitching near water(i suppose it's obvious, really 🤦‍♂️) but I eventually minimised it as much as possible by opening all the vents, fully open and using my bag/matt to negate the drafts as best I could. I still love my Akto,it's a monster of a tent especially double poled in bad weather. 👍

Thanks for the sub, yes the Akto' s are great tents, I can't believe I forgot to open my vents but in all fairness it was really windy and I would have thought I'd have been ok. Atb Darren

Bang out of order parking there, and you know it. Only £10 for overnight. Love the way you both tried to justify not paying. You are the problem for everyone else, especially local folk and emergency services, because of being so tight and selfish.

Not at all we were completely off the road in the layby, that car sticking out wasn't our car, and 90% of the time we do pay for parking and pay more than requested in honesty boxes. We were totally legal in what we did.

I do remember asking the national trust about the parking and they couldn't give me an answer regarding the overnight ie would we need 2-day tickets and 1 overnight ticket which would have put the charge at £25, since they couldn't give me a proper answer we parked in the layby.

@@bluehighfly You pay £10 and that's it. You will not get fined etc because the Trust know you are wild camping. My wife works for the Trust so I know this, plus we are both members as well. It's only £6.40 per to be a member!

@@bluehighfly There are police signs on the wall saying "do not park in the layby", so yes you was parking illegally. This is the problem, too many (note all the cars) are being ignorant of what they are doing, and don't understand the consequences. Parking there is one thing, but then sharing it on RUclips for thousands to see is another. Think about that for a minute please.

      @@bluehighfly "Incident 77
      Location: Black Moss Pot, Langstrath
      Callout Date: 14/8/2022
      Callout time: 16:14
Agencies involved: Keswick MRT, GNAAS, NWAS, Coast Guard
Black Moss Pot in upper Borrowdale was understandably very busy on this beautiful hot day. A 16 (updated) year old jumped into the pool, another person jumped in immediately after and landed on the child’s head. The child got herself out of the water with some help but with suspected serious head and neck injuries. In light of the potential seriousness of the incident Helimed 58 were tasked to the incident and as a precaution the Coast Guard were also tasked but were stood down once GNAAS Helimed 58 had arrived on scene. Keswick sent two vehicles with other team members going direct. The journey up the valley was made much slower and more difficult by some very inconsiderate roadside parking. The casualty was assessed on scene then stretchered to the helicopter and airlifted to Carlisle Hospital.
