This album still kicks ass, I love the Macauley /Schenker years, the purists say it was just radio friendly commercial stuff, well it was awesome stuff indeed! Michael's guitar playing was incredible especially on the acoustic album.
Written by both Rocky Newton and Kenneth Stewart.Kenneth was one of composers who wrote "Hot Tonight" by Lioneart,so I just guess this was the song written in Lionheart era but was not used.
MAJESTUOSO. ESCUCHAS LO DE HOY Y DA GANAS DE METER LA CABEZA EN LA TIERRA, COMO LA AVESTRUZ. MAJESTIC. LISTEN TO WHAT IS TODAY AND GIVES TO LEAVE THE HEAD IN THE EARTH, LIKE THE AVESTRUZ
Sorry, but in my opinon, it is so wrong to say that the music of nowadays is not that good as way back then. There were also sh*tartists in the past, that was not different than it is now. I listen for about 45 years to a lot of music, to a wide range of styles, openminded to discover new things. Well, when i walk through RUclips for an hour or two, I get surprised very often by the good music there is to find. I still love a lot of the old stuff, of course, but I also love a lot of the new stuff since then. Nice day :-)..!
Erich von Manstein 100% agree. I will say there are some newer bands out there that definitely got my attention in regards to musicianship such as Avenged Sevenfold, Pop Evil, FFDP just to name a few. What I was ready to see go was the era of the three cord wonders like Green Day along with the influx of boy bands who didn’t even know how to play an instrument. To each their own I guess. I suppose if I were a teenager again now I’d like the music of today just as most all of us prefer the music we grew up with. I’m not gonna hold my breath waiting to see if a new band / singer can rise up to the same level as Dio, Iron Maiden or Rush just to name a few of the greats.
According to Wikipedia, Steve Mann did a little lead work on this album. I knew there was another guy on the solo to anytime, and I suspected that he also did the lead work on “take me back”. The intro guitar is definitely Michael here, but the main solo/outro I think is not. The harmonics leading into the solo are not very Michael, the structure of the solo itself is more “refined” than Michael’s typical work, and in the outro it sounds like there’s a tremolo being used briefly, which is very not Michael. I could be wrong 😅I’m a player myself though, so I listen to these things. However it got done, great work. This song is badass!
