I mourn the passing of mild because my favourite tipple is a pint of mild and bitter; mild was alwys on tap in my youth. Sigh.

6 years on, are these historical beers still available?

This is a bit off topic, from the video's title, but does anyone know what brand of overalls and boots the bar owner was wearing?

I grew up in Texas drinking Pearl Beer from San Antonio. Schlitz from Milwaukee, Wisconsin was the biggest seller. They were very bitter. When we visited England in 1968 I found Watney's Pale Ale and loved it. Now at 83 years my doctor won't let me drink.

....I spent my 50th birthday in London, and it became a 3 day 'ye olde' pub crawl around the Holborn / Fleet St. area ! I was amazed and disappointed to find that there doesn't seem to be any kind of enthusiasts guided 'pub walk'....and when I asked the London Walks tour guide, he said that they do a few walks which include visits to 3 pubs...but there aren't any specific pub crawls for real ale and pub history enthusiasts ! WHY NOT ?! There aren't even any detailed RUclips video pub tours, because ''the landlords aren't keen on filming inside''...however I was welcome to film / photograph in The Cittie Of York, Ye Olde Mitre, The Seven Stars, The George and even Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, WITHOUT any hassle !

the good folks here at Londonist often do pub crawls! we announce it on our twitter, and they are in essence unofficial tours for real ale and pun enthusiasts!

....aha yes, but they have to be olde historical pubs...modern ''brass and green glass'' makeover ones don't have the same appeal ! I was staying at The President hotel on Russell Square, and the pub opposite, ''The Friend in hand'' was dated 1725, as was the nearby Swan. There are hundreds of others of course, and the more you drink the more fascinating the old pubs become...then you end up sliding under a table and staring at the ornate ceilings !!

...I've just clicked on your link...yes, some fine pubs there...but of course on a crawl, they MUST be within staggering distance of each other !
